I've just listened to the opening, and saved it to listen to properly later. I love the sonority, but also a kind of calm, an unhysterical, unforced, unhurried laying forth of what Shostakovich wrote. Giving the music room to breathe and be what it is. I can't find less clumsy words, but this performance is special.
