Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti should actually be ist: ist woman to own and drive a car in Nigeria.
Ist Female activist, who took on the colonial powers and won. She was brutally murdered by the military junta.
She passed on her activism to her children: Dr. Beko Ransome Kuti, a human rights campaigner hounded and jaiked by authoritarian regime, Fela Kuti, a world renowned musician, originator of Afrobeats, human rights activist who took on corruption in government through music and protests, also hounded and jailed many times.
