Savannah, I am at a loss to understand why such cruelty was done here. The other three didn't know Shanda, probably didn't care about Melinda's love triangle and yet, they did these unspeakable acts. All four should not have been released. Ever. RIP, Shanda. My GOD.
I know! The fact those three girls went along and didn't stop Melinda is just despicable!! Especially Toni and Hope, they could have done something😢
How can these women say that things spiraled quickly and they never wanted to kill her. They had 10 hours to turn this around while that poor girl was tortured. Blows my mind that not one of them in those long hours tried to help her. The fact that they are out sickens me. Rest in Peace sweet Shanda.

This is so heartbreaking. That poor little girl did nothing wrong 😫😔they were all complicit in this horrific murder. Also, Shanda’s mother is absolutely amazing♥️
This case happened less than two hours from where I have lived all of my life. It is absolutely appalling to me that these monsters are out walking the streets when Shanda never even got a chance to live her life. I believe that they all knew full well what would happen that night and yet they all actively participated without even trying to stop it. They had plenty of time to reconsider their actions before Shanda ever even got in that car that night. They should have all been charged with murder,I don't care how old they were, everyone of every age knows better than to murder someone,let alone a twelve year old child. As far as Amanda Heavrin goes, a fifteen year old knows way better than to be having sex with a twelve year old and I don't know how many people are aware of it but she knew that Melinda had threatened to kill Shanda and yet she didn't say or do anything to try to prevent it. There's no way that any of these horrible excuses for human beings should ever get to draw one free breath,they all should have been locked up for life.
Gosh I can't believe they're all living FREE now, and I can't do much about it.

They got lenient punishments. That makes the people who punished them nearly as bad as them! This angers me beyond words!
I will never understand how people who do non violent crimes get more time than people like this. The way the girls tortured her and they are allowed to out free? That’s ridiculous.

Oh man what a heartbreaking story/case and my condolences goes out to shonda and her family, it really angered me hearing what the hell those girls did to her...such an unfortunate , viciously sick , unnecessary death.RIP😔🙏
I first read about this case like 13 years ago when I was like 16 (was watching a Cold Case episode and wanted to learn more about the true story. I just couldn't believe how young the perpetrators were and felt like they were let off way too easily. I just can't even begin to imagine how scared Shanda had to have been throughout all of it. She was put through torture for literally hours and hours before she died. And for what? Because Melinda was jealous of her? It infuriates me that they aren't all still in prison.

I haven’t heard of this case before, even tho I live in this area. Lived in New Albany when I was little and now in Louisville (thank you for pronouncing it correctly, most people don’t lol). So crazy to think that this horrible death happened and this is the first time I’ve heard of it. All the places you were mentioning I was thinking I’ve been there or know where it is. This is so sad. My heart goes out to Shanda’s family
