It should be mentioned, if it is not obvious (which, hopefully it is), that Shinobi is an amazing game, it is this port of the game that is god awful. The SMS and arcade games are freaking awesome.

The Master System version is not really much different from the NES version. It has all the same issues of controls, weird animations, walking on water, lack of invincibility frames etc...

The SMS version was a challenge of mine as a kid. Never did flip that game.
Not sure why they decided to go with the Andy Warhol pastiche of Marilyn Monroe at the start of the second section.
Did someone besides me look at this and think it was the rough draft of Wrath of the Black Manta?
I played the living shit out of this game as a kid , good times , sort of sucks they skip the bonus levels but obviously speedrun
runner makes it look easy , this thing was hard as a kid, i remember the sega version being fine

It's an unlicensed game made by Tengen, masters of unlicensed NES games.
