In this video, the best dermatologist in Delhi, Dr. Nivedita Dadu reviews the two most popular soaps - Dove and Pears.
A basic action of Soap is to remove dirt without hampering the skin cell barrier. Skin has an Acid mantle which holds the dirt and protects the skin. A soap which is alkaline in nature works well to remove the acid mantle and hence dirt off the skin without disrupting the pH of the skin.
DOVE SOAP:
👉🏻 pH is 7.0, it is safer and better as its more neutral
👉🏻 Fragrance is due to Maltol which is an organic compound
👉🏻 Does not contain SLS but contains Sodium Cocoyl Thionate
1. Does not clearly mention the ingredients that have moisturizing properties. But it contains Animal Fat which could be the reason for its moisturizing properties.
2. Contains more chemical components and less organic components and hence it is advisable to do patch test
3. Contains Sodium Palmitate which is the chemical component responsible for detergent action
4. Contains SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate)
PEARS SOAP:
👉🏻 pH is 9.8
👉🏻 Contains 98% Glycerin which is a humectant and helps keep skin moisturized, soft and supple
👉🏻 Allergic Potential is very less as it contains mostly organic components
👉🏻 Contain Sodium Cocoate which is naturally derived from coconut and is responsible for detergent action
👉🏻 Fragrance is due to Rosin which is a Pine bark extract

Skinlite cream is a steroid cream which has a lot of side effects including redness . Kindly visit your Dermatologist to undo the side effects of the cream. After you have done that you can start using facepacks and skin lightening creams

Had poor results with cleansers like Aveeno and CeraVe. Now, I am using Pears soap as a wash then a Derma E vitamin E skin oil as a moisturiser. Seems to work. Been 2-3 weeks. Skin looks healthy. I have heard that Pears has a high pH level of 8-9. Some say this is bad for facial skin? Is this right or wrong? I don't understand. I wake up early, expose myself to early sunlight for 5 mins. Drink lots of water. Take limcee tablet every morning. Get a healthy breakfast. Exercise daily.
