- I had recently posted a video talking about all the Total Drama contestants placements, names, and personalities. So I wanted to up the ante in a sense and form a tier list ranking my favorite to least favorite characters! Including characters that never competed!

For me, I think I'll put Chef in S just because every time he's on screen, it becomes more exciting especially his rivalry with Izzy. I love them both (plus he looks lit in every costume that he wears!)

I feel like Heather is the perfect embodiment of a character that's so unlikable that you love them. There are characters designed to be hated, but the writers pulled her off so well as the series went on that you know she's bad, but you love to see her succeed, especially in World Tour. No mean, bad girl character can hold a candle to her and her character development.
She's literally written like a real person on reality TV

Heather is my favourite Total Drama character, easily. Her winning World Tour is the highlight of the entire show.
I disagree with Alejandro. The man should be in S, because he was so good that he integrated into the first generation characters and even became into a a memorable villain.

He was a little too perfect though, Heather was his only flaw. The writers took beloved characters and regressed them in order for them to be victims of a character not very will written. Heather is not the best antagonist, but she’s an amazing character with a lot of flaws and faced a lot more adversity.
Scott was an okay villain, but he absolutely carried all stars with his comedy

Fun fact in the first episode Beth says that in the ice skating show Chris was in someone dropped their partner on their head and the ice dancers always mention jock dropping Josie on her head in ice skating and they got silver

I recently binged the series and noticed that. I’m a big fan of when tiny details like that develop into actual plot points
Someone pointed this out already but they had that incident at the Olympics, which is a bit different from an ice skating show.

She's got no personality outside of being goth and she barely says anything.. i think she's overrated
the character was exactly like they’re counterpart, and i bet you would put they’re counterpart lower, i think you just have an attraction to goth girls
Bridgette is super underrated and I always wish they would let her compete more and go further without being tied to Geoff. I mean I actually really liked their relationship in Island, but it did get a little annoying in the later seasons. I just want to see her get another chance to go far the same way Geoff did in Ridonculous Race.
They can still be together, I'm not asking for a break up, I just don't want Geoff in the same picture since it might end up the same way it did in Action and World Tour sort of. Besides Geoff already got his second chance in RR, I just want to see Bridgette get the same treatment.
I'm not sure how far Bridgette could get on her own. in Island it felt like she was only kept on cause she was nice & needed the time to develop her relationship with Geoff. her clumsyness probably would of gotten her booted sooner if the relationship plot didn't need to finish up.

There was no reason for the writers to make her an early boot in back to back seasons. Bridgette and DJ deserved to make the merge in World Tour.
@@VampirePrinceKRS I mean the merge episode in TDI showed that Bridgette can be compelling when given the spotlight and unlike Trent, she was a love interest of a more important character but still got her own screentime and developed friendships outside of Geoff. I mean, she has way more personality than Zoey.
bridgette was the first option to reach the final along with duncan in total drama action then they created the idea of the aftermatch show and it became lindsay vs duncan and finally beth vs duncan but the point is that the writers themselves know that brigette has the potential to be more, it's a shame they never managed to get it right because of the aftermatch show, that's why she was quickly eliminated in world tour (which I'm not saying is bad, I love the aftermatch but I would have liked to see her play more in the competition)

I would argue with that…how is she S tier? Her only good season was TDI and half of WT. she was bossy, self righteous, manipulative, physically abusive and controlling to her own boyfriend as well as the others…in what ways is she S tier? It’s not like she changed because we all know how TDAS played out
@@domenicavallone28 In a universe where sundae muddy sundae is written well courtney would be S but this one episode really weighs her down. Courtney and Zoey finale would had been dope. Courtney should had won allstars IMO

No matter where you stand on the Duncan gwen and Courtney love triangle, we can all agree that gwen, Courtney, and Duncan were all done VERY dirty at one point or another.

My unpopular personal opinion: They should make things up with a bisexual throuple. None of the 3, nor each side(literally) of the triangle's shippers, are left out that way.

Zeke is the punching bag of the series but he did have a good moment when all of the mutants praised him and he finally got some love at the end

I think a lot of us would agree that we’d like to forget the all stars and pahkitew island. Ridoncoulis race on the other hand honestly felt like a breath of fresh air and while there were flaws, it was definitely better than the previous two seasons before it.
I would’ve liked it, i wish they could have put cody, leshawna, and trent in it. Sam shouldnt be there, lindsey i say shouldn’t tbh, she was really good but

Eva in B definitely one of the best spots I have ever seen her in! She is my favorite character
Not really, She had the chance to become a good contestant but after heather gave her her however you want to call it back she became a real softie and after she returned from getting voted out the only thing she kept doing for the entire time she was on the island is trying to flame bridgette for betraying her.
It ruined her character development.
They both didn’t make it far enough.
"Shut it and pick up your crate. Chicken." will be some of my favorite lines in Island and my favorite Eva line.
Eva was at her best in world tour aftermath in my opinion. It almost makes me as mad as she was that she didn’t get to compete XD

I thought Jo form Revenge of the Island was a not too bad substitute for Eva.

Owen is hands down one of my favourites in the series. Despite his disgusting habits, he’s so hilarious to watch and tries to be a sweetheart to everyone he meets.

I really liked Justin in Action and I would definitely put him in A tier but the only thing that stops me from doing so is because he cared about his looks too much. If someone is an antagonist they should be more focused on the game. Justin focused almost only on his looks and girls.

You said Sam "A" tier would be controversial but I think putting Mike in "B" Tier was imo
Putting Mike ANYWHERE is controversial. Some people despise him because of the way his personality is, some people love him, and some people think he had potential. No matter where you put Mike someone will be pissed off
Yeah, Mike is probably the most divisive character overall. I personally love him, but I understand why some people don't like him.
Maybe we should be dividing Mike in 6 distinct characters !

Yup, Shawn and Jasmine are the only two characters I liked in Pahitew Island, so I agree with the S tier
I love Topher xD but for the most part I agree with the list. I would also have Ryan in A with Stephanie in D. Ryan's passive aggressive agreement with Stephanie near the end was so so funny. I also would have the goths, ice dancers, and Macarthur in S personally but I respect their placement nonetheless. If it werent for how Scarlett was handled at the end she would be high for me too
I’ll be honest some of these people I like FORGOT their personality and anything they have ever said. (Later seasons without original cast) Guess it means I’ll have to rewatch!

I'm probably the only one who hated Duncan in World Tour before All-Stars. I mean I liked him a lot in Island and Action, but I just couldn't stand him in WT. Besides from becoming a cheater, he felt like a completely different character and I honestly wished he stayed out of the competition after he quit. I'm sorry, his character derailment was just the worst.
No, you're not the only one. I despised Duncan immediately after Island.
Island Duncan was great. Action Duncan was decent, as he had shown some good gameplay in the first half, but was a bit more unlikable as his bullying felt exaggerated. World Tour Duncan is still ok, but that is when he starts losing me. Literally the only thing I enjoyed from him there was his rivalry with Alejandro (and his interactions with Owen, I guess?) And I did feel bad for him when he got attacked by Zeke (dude, I hated the guy, but even I think that was harsh. [In a sarcastic voice]Thanks for that, Aleheather). Other than that, he was pretty darn hateable what with the cheating and general lack of care for other people around him. All Stars Duncan was terrible. He basically played with both Courtney and Gwen's hearts for no reason, and his Heel Face Door Slam irritated me to no end. I haven't hated character derailment this much since Ralph Breaks the Internet, man. What the heck happened to him?
Duncan is my favourite character and he was amazing in Island Action and World Tour but they ruined him in total drama All Stars.
For me personally, Courtney is a C-tier tiptoeing into D, while she was Great in Island, her becoming an outright villain in Action felt really forced and it sucked that all her great character development in Island was thrown out the window along with all her positive personality traits while the negative ones were exaggerated to such a crazy extreme. While she showed potential to be a great antagonist in the Total drama drama drama drama island special, she was just not enjoyable in Action in my opinion, acting like spoiled brat, using her lawyers to get her way and throwing Caillou like tantrums.
World Tour just poured salt on the wound when she flirted with Tyler to spite Duncan, despite the fact he was Lindsay's boyfriend which was hypocritical since she was mad at Gwen for kissing her boyfriend. She also sabotaged her own team and after Gwen was eliminated, she pretty much gave up on the game to help Alejandro cheat.
She was fine in All-stars, though it sucks that it appeared she was gonna get redeemed only for her to get reverted back to her Action self, but like with most of the other characters that season I'm more mad at the writers than Courtney herself. Still hoping for that redemption.
I agree with you. But for me she’s a solid D. Also, you forgot that Courtney called Gwen a boyfriend kisser even though she and Duncan theoretically broke up.

@@arrowix98 No, they’re right. It was never confirmed that they were back together in the special and she seemed way more invested than he did. She thought they were together and he didn’t. (real life situations are like that too sometimes so it’s not impossible to believe.)
They weren’t on the same page and that would explain why Gwen went from “Courtney’s boyfriend” to “He wasn’t her boyfriend at the time” . Duncan and Courtney clearly had different thoughts about their relationship.

Dawn and Kitty need more screen time! They were such fun characters.
Kitty has more screentime than Dawn if you look at their episodes appearences in their respective seasons:
Dawn- 6 episodes
Kitty- 26 episodes

To be fair, he had the element of suprise in TDWT. In all-stars, a good chunk of the contestants already knew his tricks, so he wouldn't be as effective.
@@lukedetering4490 that's the main reason I think All Stars is overhated, "nerfing" the previous villains "in favor of Mal" makes perfect sense, they lose confidence and the element of surprise and mostly will get axed first given how generally unlikable and dangerous they are to other partecipants, everyone viewed Mike as a nice guy and didn't expect a new malevolent personality to pop up like that so again it makes perfect sense, the whole "he only does petty things like breaking stuff" argument is something I will never understand, what else is he supposed to do? As it's stated in the series itself he's evil for the fun of it, which is PERFECTLY FINE, not every negative character needs an insanely complex and relatable backstory, there's million of people in real life that are evil for no reason. All-Stars was the perfect way to give more screen time and chances to develop to second generation characters while still bringing back fan favorites, while it certainly failed with some of them like Sam it closed the entire Mike and Zoey arc which was left hanging and as they were by far the most interesting and complex characters they could've built upon I don't see the issue. Some "nerfs" and reactions are kinda hard to explain or justify, like no one realizing Mal was pretending to be Mike for the longest time, but I mostly see this critique from people who complain that they nerfed the previous villains in favor of Mal, as if letting them get away with something they already did wouldn't be even more stupid and unjustifiable given how everyone already knew about their previous schemes

Gwen is also my favorite character! She is up there in my favorite characters in all media. She is kind but competitive, funny, an outsider who is also an insider just a badass overall❤️
Same. She was the first character I specifically remember relating to, and as such, she is my favorite female character ever (My favorite male character is either Shrek or Wreck it Ralph). In the first season, she's basically Shrek, then in the other ones, she's like Meggy Spletzer.
I wonder how far she could have gotten in Action if not for Trent throwing challenges, then her sabotaging her team and voting herself off

My only thing with Courtney is, if she never returned after Action, she'd be a D or C, i honestly think she makes the last half if Action almost unbearable. But World Tour bumps her up way higher

I still love Dave ngl. Hurl and go seek was excusable (Due to Chris listing all side effects of Juggy Chunks and irrational behaviour being one. TDI-TDWT- overall a great entertaining show, especially with WTs songs.
TDROTI: fun to see a new cast, not as entertaining as the gen 1 cast but cool to see way more variety, bad antagonist though.from around this point onwards is where the downward spiral started
TDAS cool cast mix, however the challenges and most of the season was abysMAL. (i am so sorry).
TDPI: characters are extremely annoying, not nearly as fleshed out as the others and were just walking stereotypes.
The trilogy was cool, ROTI is underrated in my opinion, AS is so bad its kinda funny in my opinion, but PI is terrible.

Ezekiel’ potential was S-tier, but they didn’t allow him to flesh out at all. Even still, I think he’s still definitely B tier. Compared to the other C tier characters, both he and Anne Maria feel like they’re much better characters than the other C’s. Otherwise I agree with mostly all the other placements; good vid.

Alejandro should be in S teir regardless of what happened in All Stars. In my opinion he is the greatest total drama villain and made world tour amazing and in all stars everyone got degredaded yet you put Duncan above him, Duncan also got ruined in All Stars (Duncan is still s teir in my opinion too) so why only apply that to Alejandro. You put Harold above Alejandro too, even with what happened in all stars alejandro is still the better character.

My unpopular opinion is that I don’t like Courtney at all. Maybe it’s because the first series I watched was either Action or World Tour, but she always seemed insufferable and irredeemable to me. It doesn’t help that people see her as a “good guy with flaws” when I felt she was just a slightly more nerdy and preppy Heather as the show went on, scheming and fucking people over and still getting viewed in a positive light. I mean rewatching Island, specifically the episode where her and Duncan are stealing from the craft services tent made her more likable, but overall in the series she just kinda felt like a lawful evil character that got off too easy.
I liked her in island a bit but her character deteriorated like a lot of other characters for the sake of moving some weird plot stuff forward

Jacques and Josée deserved the S rank for sure. They were some of the best villains! I thought Jacques was just hilarious with the way he handled Josée. I don't know what was funnier, their reactions to getting first place or to losing. Honestly I wanted them to win, I don't care if they cheated they were funny. I couldn't really vibe with the police cadettes. It was really just McArthur i didn't like idk what it was. But yeah I actually was rooting for the villains in Ridonculous Race. Also i might be partial cause I thought Jacques was hot when I was younger but- at least I'm admitting my bias
I found Chet and Lorenzo funny too, they are good characters. Ridiculous Race was a saving grace for Total Drama, also I love how Pahkitew island characters are mostly in D tier

I really liked Mike, actually. Could have been better, yes, but I did like the way they developed his personalities disorder. Also, I loved him as a hero and a villain. If you think about it, Mike is kind of a Spider-Man. Just saying.
