    Part of the reason the 75 LSG is so useful is because Call to Arms is a tactics game-and before the advent of the tank Infantry Gun's were the infantry's chief source of real firepower. It also reflects the rather simplistic rules still governing the meta for artillery in tactics games which are better than most games in Call to Arms-but still very oversimplistic. Any request-for-fire placed beyond the crew's line-of-sight should be handled as a fire mission-rather than just a firing. There should be a substantial lead time while the crew (playing the fire direction center) calculates the mission. Precise shots should only be possible when a Forward Observer is within direct line-of-sight of the target. Parameters for fire missions should be flexible but detailed-allowing for things like harassment barrages with a slow rate of refire, walking barrages, drumfire/fire-for-effect etc and also things like illumination-flare munitions, gun temperature limitations, sound ranging and counter-battery etc should all feature more role in the game than the current very, very simple meta but i'll get off my soapbox now.

      good point to be honest in a game on the small scale like call to arms I thick all heavy artillery ,like 10cm and above should be artillery call in from outside the map would make more sense personally.

      @@SirJellyBean Tbh the way the games scale on-map artillery is great and very much something the GEM games should continue to do. (Although off-map use should also be featured). Just about no other tactics games does that and it's super cool that these games have such a huge and accurately modeled inventory of heavy guns. (Most of these games of this type are way way way too obsessed with small arms and tanks.) They just need better meta so that they're more interesting and less vulnerable to exploits-abuse under the current rules which reveal very poor knowledge of how artillery support worked by both the developers and player community.

      @@capthawkeye8010 yeah very good points again good sir , I think ostfront could be a true masterpiece if they get a few of the problems sorted I hope the developers concentrate on them over other things .

      Graviteam tactics model the artillery kinda like you mentioned in your initial post.
      It's a bit tricky to make it work sometimes though

    I regularly use the 7.5 ISG for all purposes because you can lob stuff behind hills with perfect accuracy. It can easily wipe a whole squads morale with a single shot and reload fast enough to hit them again before they can run away. It's size is it's only downside as it will catch most stray shells

    Excellent guide! I want to add that Germany probably has the best infantry guns out of all faction. Both leIG 18 and sIG 33 have the advantage of being treated as direct fire weapons thus not subjected to the indirect-fire accuracy, but their very low muzzle velocity still gives them ridiculously high firing arc, resulting in them being able to shoot over terrains with incredible accuracy. This is especially ridiculous with the sIG 33, you can consistently hit tank-sized target while dealing 155mm level of damage. Allied field guns don't get that treatment, and American pack howitzers have a lot of trouble dealing with the hedgerows on the western front.
    To top it off, you can go with vehicle mounted versions which are just wicked. A single Sturmpanzer I can easily carry you through the entire conquest with thousands of kill while also being very easy to research. It even has towing capabilities thanks to the Panzer I chassis, you can either give it an ammo trailer or a Nebelwerfer for even more destruction.

    Sir Jelly Bean, you don't have to go through the trouble of selecting a unit in editor and assiging it to player 0 to check it, all you have to do is press the NUMPAD that corresponds with the player.
    For example, the t34 was assigned to player 1... so you press numpad 1 and you switch to its team (so that you can check the damage, same goes for player 0,2,3,4,5,etc,etc.

    Kaaaaarl that kills People!!! I totally love to drive the Sturmtiger but i couldn´t believe my Eyes when i found Karl Gerät in the Skilltree, in Conquest it clears whole Bases :D

    Needed this video. In mp games I keep losing my Pak guns to higher range tanks and artillety. Every time I think I'm getting the drop on an enemy tank and move up my artillery piece, it seems to get blown up by bigger artillety pieces. Would love if the range was shown when selecting artillety, having to switch to manual control to gauge it is time consuming

    This has been a ton of fun. The siege mortar is just insane.

    But for practical purposes I love the smaller artillery.

    its hilarious how you spend a whole 7 minutes not hitting anything with every gun ever hahahaha this is realisticly the most accurate depiction of german guns in CTA you could hope for :P

    It always amuses me how poorly the German weapons are adjusted in terms of reload time, accuracy or even V0 and bullet trajectory (such as in COH1) in order to get some balance into the game... 😆

      I think the nevels do so much damage because they also get the fuel from the rocket with the explosion .

    WTH!? Is there a hotkey for distance measurement in RTS mode?
    Not in TPS mode but the cursor is showing the distance!

      best thing to do is go on the attack options then ground button on the bottom right , and it tells you distance .

    I just don't know why my artillery sometimes has 350 range and other time 150. The same piece... pls help

      It's when different shells are loaded in so the HE shells will be the 350m range and most likely the HEAT or Ap shells will be about 150m hope that helps

      @@jirimakovsky6619 yeah I believe with each doctrine the special units you get fron the start is capped at 3 everything else on the roster is if you have enough point to buy them

    You say the guns aren't accurate, but you shoot before the aim reticle closes on the target. Ofc you will be inaccurate that way

    the whole idea of 'tactical' artillery is nonsense anyhow. Games need to get off this meta of on map artillery. Make it call for fire that can be purchased.
