I noticed aphids started to appear between mid and end September here. Since I grow only a dozen of Bell Peppers, I start to get them inside before this period ; even if the weather is still warm, or sunny enough outside. It doesn't take that long to bring them inside, where the bells will finish to ripen. This is just a private advice.
Hmmm. That is an interesting approach. Most of the time here they are late spring early summer problems for me.

@budgetmom hose water with a good pressure will do it!!!! no soap need it...if you have tons every day then use neem oil ..work oerfect ...natural remedy:)) good luck
I think they only appear in weak plant had a plant that’s was infested while they ones next to it weren’t
They can cause plants to weaken as they eat the plant. If left unchecked the infestation will migrate.

I've had hit and miss results with need oil
I soak nettles in water for 3 weeks, strain it out and dilute with water. Aphids die.

The soap burned my sweet potatoes.
Rinse any residue off. Water nicely and just let mother nature heal.

Look for a mild soap without degreasers like dawn. I think I read Ivory makes one?

@@Grace-kash I’m just getting back into growing peppers and have been trying to study these issues. I’m going to attempt like a 25+ grow bag, of various sizes, set up. I used to do only a few 5 gallon buckets at a time. I’m going to be in this for a lot of money in soil alone so being ready for whatever bugs and critters may come is my goal.
One thing I keep hearing is to add vegetable oil and dishwashing soap to water to spray. I didn’t get bugs before, but, I had a giant squirrel eat my plants, peppers and all! I mean it devoured them. I watched the fat thing dragging a plant off, out of my patio, and as I got close it finally let it go. Now I have cats and have not seen a squirrel in some time therefore I’m moving my Setup outside and expanding it. God willing I’ll get a bunch of super-hot peppers.
