"aren't you tired of me?" ethel asks her father if what he had done was worth the irreparable, unspeakable damage caused to her, and their relationship. but not in an angry way but in an almost lax, aloof way. the sin will always be there, it's already hurt her undefinably -- does it not hurt him also? it's almost closure, and it's so pretty
