In her first major interview since ascending to the top of the Democratic ticket, Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris was questioned by CNN's Dana Bash about her policy positions and campaign platform. We begin with a look at Harris's increasingly rightward stance on immigration and border policy with immigration activist Erika Andiola. As she touted her support for hard-line border security and asylum policies, Harris positioned herself as tougher on immigration than Trump. "Republican talking points … now truly have become Democrat talking points," says Andiola.

That’s not what the facts say. It says the Homeland Secretary would be given emergency authority once the crossings reach 4,000 per day. Any higher (5,000+) the authority would be mandated by the new bill.
Given the number of crossings was 10,000 per day at the time, that emergency authority would have been legally mandated, blocking the maximum amount of border crossings possible.
Also, the bill would have built additional barriers to fill the remaining portion of the border that is open.

Here’s a solution. Go through the legal process of immigration. It’s not rocket science.
It’s kind of ironic that the immigration activist’s family came here illegally, who felt entitled to “skip the line” to become residents ahead of people who waited and came legally.

That's why we need to reclassify border crossings as misdemeanors and not as criminal acts because they're as severe in nature as jaywalking is. It's really no big deal.

Very very beneficial. The immigrants you are referring to predominantly work in sectors like agriculture, restaurant kitchens, etc. What that means for you are far lower food prices. They are also not jobs that people from here are doing. In other words, Trump is actually running on a platform of significantly increasing food prices, but people are not educated enough to understand that. And she is not pro immigration. And in California (where the world's biggest agricultural region is) a McDonalds job will pay you more than $20 an hour. Do you seriously think people would work in the Central Valley where it's 110 degrees in the summer and get pesticide mist all over them? Do you understand how fast and long they have to work? Who exactly would do those jobs and for what wage? The fact is that most immigrants don't compete for the same jobs Americans hold. So they don't deflate wages for them. Additionally our unemployment rates have been ridiculously low and these people are precluded from unemployment benefits and other social services.
