- How to enter Cambodia in the worst way possible? Ho Chi Minh to Phnom Penh with this bus... so uncomfortable!
Bus aside, I am happy to be in Cambodia and to explore this country. I never been here before. Have you?

Have you been to Cambodia? Are you planning to come? let me know in the comments below.
Thanks for watching and I wish you a beautiful day! :)
Gabi
We went to Cambodia and stayed in Siam Reap. A local driver took us to all the areas that the locals went to and it was fascinating but also quite sad to see how little some people had. We also loved the museums that were related to the war. A former Khmer Rouge boy soldier was a guide and told us his story. Cambodia has a sad history and it is good to see it is starting to do well again. We loved Angkor Wat and we found the Cambodian people to be extremely helpful and really friendly.
👋🤗
Was there visa on arrival ?
JaneW that was a very heartwarming comment. Thank you for being an understanding, kind and compassionate person. Thank you for visiting Cambodia and doing your best to understand the sad history behind why Cambodia is a country that was once deserted and struggling, and why many people become disabled losing a leg due to stepping on land mines planted by the American soldiers during the Vietnam War. Wishing you joy, peace, and harmony. Take care 🫶
I live there
thanks from cambodian 🙏❤️️❤️️
Hi Gabi and Ploy. So nice to see you together again, and so cool for Ploy to travel to other countries. We were in Cambodia in 2017 and visited Siam Rep, Sohokovill, Pnom Pehn and Luang Prabang, we were very happy with both the places and the nice people that we met. Have a nice trip 🤗
Great to hear that. :) thank you
Wow.. Cambodia 🇰🇭 Yes I enjoyed your introduction 😊👍🏻
Thanks again for your great work. As always the information is appreciated.
Great Video Gabi!
I had a similar bus experience a few years ago from Cambodia getting into Thailand through Poipet.. (that was a nightmare..)
Apart from that I had a fantastic time in Cambodia👍.
Some seaside locations are lovely and the temples of Angkor are just another level..
Enjoy the adventure.. All the best! 💪
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏻☺️🇰🇭
This is a really helpful, what a great video!! Thank you Gabi! Looking forward to your next Videos, safe travels as always!
Great timing Gabi, I will be there for a week in 3 weeks from now. Hope you visit Kampot and looking forward to your tips as its been 15 years since I was there last.
Great information Gabi , thank you so much, i will follow your route only.... 🙏
Welcome to Cambodia and thanks for your interesting video ❤️🙏🏻
Welcome to Cambodia🙏🇰🇭
this man is really inspired me to do overland travel. thanks man for the inspiration.
I love this vid -- great quality! I just moved to Cambodia! Cheers on your travels!
Wow, that 'sleeper' bus seems to be a real nightmare! Now I'll never choose that one over regular bus. Thanks for sharing, man!
Very nice video. Love you from Cambodia 🇰🇭 ❤️❤️
I was there in 2012. I just saw some pictures on yahoo and then came to youtube to see if anyone had videos on it. Thank you so much for posting this. It's so sad. Sihanoukville was beautiful 10 years ago. Very simple, quiet city. Those empty high rises half built are disturbing. So irresponsible at all levels. It was so much better when it was just backpackers. Even the island nearby seems to have been destroyed by all that construction. I think my dream of returning and moving there permanently has been shattered. :(
Yeah I was there in 2017. I stayed in Otres. Hated going into town, Police kept stopping me on my motorbike and I paid a lot in bribes. Horrible shit hole.
P.P.
Was a disappointment after Ho Chi Min 😮💨 I spent three months there in total, I enjoyed Kampot, Kep less so.
I won't be returning to Cambodia.
My favorite channel...we thank you Gabi
Thanks 😊🙏🏻
Thank you for visiting in Cambodia🙏🏼 we are welcome you all the time.
Yes I'm waiting for the next episode thank you so much for you video
Hi 👋 brother Thank you 🙏 so much for your present in Cambodia
I fly to phnom penh 8 days ago I have never gone through a airport so easily the immigration visa and customs were the best airport to go through you get a friendly welcome soon as you arrive that is not the the case in alot of countries 😊 😀 !
I've taken the regular bus from the same location to Phnom Penh. Thanks for the visa info gonna do it again next January. Phnom Penh can be much fun, your gonna love Angkor ❤
Yes regular bus is much better 🙈 excited for Angkor wat 🤩🇰🇭
Help!! I’m going at the end of September but I’m not vaccinated. What is my chance of entering Cambodia?
As a local who often go to Phnom Penh by bus from HCM, I have to say you were overcharged for the ticket. We usually pay 20 USD (22 USD for sleeper bus) for one-way ticket. My tips for travelers intending to travel to Phnom Penh by bus from HCM is to buy ticket from bus company’s ticket office, which usually located in District 05. You can have a better rate with the same quality and from the same bus company as you do in District 01.
I went that exact route in 2018, on a Giant Ibis bus and it was a great trip.
The crossing at the border was as smooth as could be. It took about 10 minutes to exit Vietnam and then we crossed over into Cambodia and it took about 10 minutes or so there to get a visa and then off to Phnom Penh! I spent a week in Phnom Penh, and then about 3 weeks in Siem Reap. Then, off to Bangkok through Poipet. Once again on Giant Ibis, stick with a winner! It's a bit more chaotic as I'm sure anyone who has been through Poipet knows but it still went quite well and took maybe an hour.
I love Cambodia! It's such a lovely country with lovely people!
Welcome to Cambodia thanks for sharing this video 😍😍🙏
OMG, I will go to PhnomPenh and Siem Riep in the next 2 weeks. How is this video useful for me. Thank you so much Mr Gabi. I hope you enjoy all the places where you visit. Have a nice day :)
Hope u enjoyed ur time in Cambodia 🇰🇭❤️🇻🇳 Even though Cambodia is a poor country, we are rebuilding after pol pot regime and developing currently and I hope that Cambodia can be more welcoming and suitable for tourists in the near future ☺️ ASEAN rise together❤️
Been to cambodia last may.. It's really amazing
Hi Gabi and Ploy and thanks for the video! I spent 1,3 years in Cambodia during the covid outbreak, very cheap and traditional country with friendly people.
For phnom penh: just be careful to not having your phone in your hand while walking or even sitting in the tuk tuk, so many thefts during night, specially in the streets close to the river, the classic silent motorbike aproaching from behinde and the phone is gone in seconds..
If you have time i recommend you to visit Kampot in the south where you can find a lot of things to do, like Bokor mountian ( perfect with a motorbike ride) waterfalls, salt/peppar farms, mangrove forest, caves, old tempels and the small town Kep ( 25 minutes away) where you can swim, Kampot is on a river with amazing sceneries. And Offcorse Siem reap for angkor wat area.
When it comes to Islands it can´t beat Thailand but Ko rong samloem and ko Rong (sandflies and baby piranha here!) is really magical and wild, a bit more pricy than the mainland. Don´t miss the glowing planktons at night!
The old backpacker destination Sihanoukville is now filled with skyskrapers and customized for rich chinese tourist with casinos everywhere, the beaches west of the pir is nice thoug.
Mondulkiri is a much cooler and smaller town famous for its hills with coffe plantations, elephant sanctuary and bousra waterfall.
Ratanakiri further up have waterfalls and lots of jungle. Actually phnom penh is not the nicest place in Cambodia and more expensive than other citys but you always endup here if you take the buses to different destinations...Hope you guys enjoy!
Thank you so much for the great tips 🙏🏻🇰🇭
I am now visit northern Thailand very nice here small province
Would love to see you do a comparison Vietnam/Cambodia future vlog.
There’s no need for comparison. Each country has its own unique ways of rules, cultures, and livings. Both countries have gone through wars and are doing their best to develop and move forward. Please, let’s not try to put any countries down by doing comparison. That’s like comparing yourself to other people because of the insecurities and low self-esteem. I hope you have a nice day. Take care 🫶
Interesting video. I recently applied for the $36 USD evisa (I’m British). No need to provide health insurance or vaccine status during the evisa application process. Received my evisa in 24 hrs. I have printed my vaccine status and insurance to show when I arrive.
love Siem reap,. temples are great ., am going again in November., enjoy Cambodia
Thank you for this video, two years ago I spent two weeks in Siem Reap and Angkor Wat but early next year I will hit Phnom Penh. I really do enjoy your videos. 😁
Glad to hear that Pat 🙏🏻🇰🇭

Wow good thing we have videos about booking ticket n everything ,where would we be without you
Thank brother welcome to Cambodia 🇰🇭
Thank you
Hi Gabi and Ploy, been to Cambodia many times its a great place. Riverside is a good area to stay in PP. I also recommend Kep and Kampot, Kampot pepper is the best in the world. Try some pepper crab at Kep market and treat yourself a night or 2 at Knai Bang Chatt Resort in Kep its a beautiful boutique resort on the beach.
Thanks for the great tips 🙏🏻🇰🇭
Welcome to Cambodia, my beautiful country. You'll see a lot of places in here.

Yep those laydown buses are the worse. I had a hard time finding a regular sitting bus when I traveled in Vietnam
Enjoy Cambodia trip
Welcome to Cambodia the kingdom of wonder. I really enjoyed with your video. I recommend you guy visit to Siam Reap for Angkorwat Temple there’s a beautiful place. Thank you so much bro 🙏🙏🙏❤️ 🇰🇭
You were fantastic and thank you so much for visiting our country 🇰🇭
Waw It’s been 10 years since I visited Phnom Penh and it looks so different, I’m sure there weren’t nearly as many skyscrapers, I think a taxi driver told us there were only 3. Amazing.
I stayed 10 month in PhnomPenh.. your videos are awesome .. I watched other CZcamsrs vlogs also but they don't cover PhnomPenh as much as you did .. PhnomPenh is awesome city .. and I am excited to see it more in your videos .. keep it up.
I did the same trip a few years ago and had roughly the same experience. But not quite. After we got back on the bus in Cambodia from the border crossing, the internet stopped working. Then the bus stopped working. We stood out in the hot sun for about an hour while the bus driver and the attendant "worked" on the engine. To no avail of course. They said they would send a bus to pick us up and resume the journey to Phnom Penh. The bus arrived, but we were forced to buy another bus ticket to board the new bus. I figured I had little choice but to buy the ticket. Dehydrating further in the sun was not really an option for me.
Remember. it could always be worse.
Beautiful country Vietnam, in our Catholic Church there also comes an Vietnamese family visiting the Holy Mass...they are so quiet, polite and charming family🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Good video Fri 📷👍
Great video Gabi, we just got back from 3 weeks in Phuket and did and stayed at many of the places you reviewed, thx so much for your wonderful videos and reviews, definitely no sleeper bus fo us! Next for us, we can’t decide between Phillipines and Vietnam, have you been to Phillipines?
Happy to hear that 😃 well both Philippines and Vietnam are amazing… hard choice! 😉
You will certainly enjoy visiting Philippines. Consider Coron Palawan then proceed to El Nido Palawan or of course, to Boracay Island👍🏝⛴.
Welcome to Cambodia 🇰🇭
So glad i visited 15 years ago before the skyscrapers and mass tourism changed it.. but then i guess nothing stays the same for long.
Awesome 👍 I live in Phnom Penh dude
Love you make this video 🥰🥰👍👍
Train from Phnom Penh to Kampot or Batambung is better than the bus trips. Very rainy here in Kampot this season. Enjoy and stay well

Welcome to CAMBODIA
Have a good time in Cambodia brother. 🇰🇭
Welcome to Cambodia😊
One hell of a view! 😂🤣😂🤣
Very nice pool area.
😂😂😂
8:40 I was in Phnom Penh in 2008 and no building was taller than 10 stories, amazing how much that city changed now!
The grab model was just brought in from the last few years.
❤️❤️❤️
enjoy your time in cambodia
I saw these kind of busses along Pham Ngu Lao in HCM. I was curious about the sleeper bus and how do people make themselves comfortable. Planning to ride in a bus going to INDOCHINA route in the future. However, after seeing this video, I might not consider riding the sleeper bus. 😅
Love ❤️Khmer Cambodia
Cambodia is so beautiful 🤩 I really like and very interesting with your video showing. Thanks 🙏 for your sharing
My friend and I are going to Vietnam and Cambodia in October. We want to have the e-visa issued for both countries. Is it true that with the e-visa you can only enter Cambodia via the airport or can you cross the border by bus/train with the visa? When applying for visas, you have to specify the checkpoint of the border crossing. But there are only a few borders listed. Thank you.
Looking forward to your views 😊
go to the plantaion hotel thats perfect, and the foreigner club is perfect for food
When applying for visa to Cambodia, how many nights of hotel booking you have confirm, please?
Welcome to Cambodia!!!
Thanks 😊🇰🇭
New subsriber!👍 How tall are you and how was the leg room in the tuk tuk?
The normal Ho Chi Min bus to Phnom Pen usually is filled with boxes on the floor where you should be able to put your legs down. Even if you Cambo visa the bus staff scam you for 5 usd at the border stop. No reason for this it is just so they make extra money as in private onboard business.
I must MUST do this!!!
Hi Gabi I think you can get visa at airport 😉
They’re building a new expressway from Vietnam to Cambodia and it’ll cut the transport time by a couple hours in the near future
how is the bus ride regarding dizziness, how was the road, curvy or is it straigh a highway?
Gee that bus looks super uncomfortable to me. Sorry that you need to put up with that. I will make sure I don't take that same very company /bus when I am there. Thanks for the heads up!
Yea don’t make my mistake 😅
Thanks you!
Is it possible to obtain a visa on arrival for Cambodia, or does it have to be done in advance?
Why didn't you get a visa on arrival and you don't need heath insurance, I was in Cambodia in February and March. Enjoy your trip.
Welcome to Cambodia
Nice video.
Is there visa on arrival ? We fly there in 2 weeks
Welcome!
I would like to ask if there is a bus from Phnom Penh back to Ho Chi Minh? If I have applied for a multiple-visit visa for Vietnam online, will I still be charged for the visa? Because we are passing through a land border crossing, is it possible that the border customs/immigration officers are off duty? For example, if I arrive at night and cannot clear customs, I have to stay one night near the border and wait until the next morning before I can enter the country? ! Thanks!
Welcome to Cambodia 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😁😁😁😁😁😁
You should Visit the Killing Fields had me in tears also you can shoot Machine Guns and even an RPG if you want. I only shoot the machine guns.
Aeon mall 2 is bigger than the Aeon mall 1, and Aeon mall 3 is bigger than the Aeon mall 2. But Aeon mall 3 is under construction.
What drone are you using please. Great video btw.
