    I’ve already got a performance tune. It’s incredible. I figure if I do a CAI, throttle body, headers, exhaust. Then retune it. I will be in very good shape.

    One other thing. Since I put my intake on, I’ve been looking all over online for an extra filter, so when it comes time to clean it, I can wash it, replace it with a new one and let the one I just cleaned dry on its own. Have had no luck finding the filters though, even on Mopar’s website.

      It's part of the Rebel and Laramie GT package, and those are hitting the ground in increasing numbers, so there should be nationwide stock eventually.

    I just came across your channel. Last week I picked up my 2022 Ram Rebel and it's a beast! Just remember one thing, the guy at the dealership knows people like to modify these trucks. DO NOT add any kind of tuner or engine/transmission aftermarket parts or YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR POWERTRAIN WARRANTY! I'll be following your channel from now on. Bill from Linglestown Pennsylvania

      Hi Bill thanks for following. Funny you should mention a tuner cause it’s coming in the future. More on that in a later video but yes you are 100% correct it will void your power train warranty so I’ll be installing it after my warranty has expired.

    Just picked up the filter for the RamAir intake. Part # 68414387AA. This was the original part number I was given but due to not finding anything under this number I figured it had to be wrong. Now the sticker shock. With tax this filter cost $ 184.04.

    Would it be better without the active shutters

    • @MOPARRAM-bd9zk
      @MOPARRAM-bd9zk  Před rokem +1

      Yes removing the AGS does benefit the RamAirFlow intake. It also helps with cooling as it allows more air into the engine bay which helps but will reduce your MPG since the AGS were designed to make the vehicle more aerodynamic to improve on MPG but sacrifices in the performance department due to not allow air to pass through the engine bay making the truck run hotter. The way we eliminated this was to remove the AGS tune them out and install a 180 degree thermostat with retuning for temp control. The truck now runs between 188-195 degrees. In the colder months you really feel the difference in performance with all that cold air. The truck comes alive. It’s a beast!!! Thanks for watching

    @Desmo1 Před 2 lety

    Could you explain how all of what you said makes sense with regards to the stock ECM not changing at all? I thought it was settled that unless you tune the ECM for the added parts (Intake/exhaust) none of what you allege actually will be true. In other words, you aren’t noticing anything really w/o a tune for the added parts.

    • @MOPARRAM-bd9zk
      @MOPARRAM-bd9zk  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes I can try to explain. When I first got these parts installed I did notice a little bit of difference. With the exhaust it was mostly the aggressive sound. With the intake I thought I felt an increase in acceleration, but it wasn’t till after I did the PCM swap and tuning that I noticed the increase in power. My tuner then explained to me that the stock PCM will only allow what it’s programmed for. Yes it can make adjustments here and there to compensate for little changes but nothing major. On all the chargers/challengers a stage one kit from Mopar includes the exhaust, intake, and a new stage one PCM. That alone tells you that the vehicle has to be re calibrated for the performance parts. Unfortunately Ram doesn’t offer a stage one PCM for the 1500 so you have to go through a third party like Diablo, Hemifever, and so on to unlock the PCM. My truck is currently tuned by Hemifever for the Ram Air Flow, Mopar Cat Back Exhaust, and 8 speed transmission tuning making it a true stage one kit. I hope this helped. Thanks for watching.

    These intakes look so good on this truck ! Reminds me of the old Cuda Shaker hood, just not seen until you pop the hood. Between that and the catch can if you go with that mod, you’ll see a 2 to 4 mpg, due to letting more air in than a stock intake and the catch can doing its job by capturing the excess junk coming from the PVC instead of that oil getting mixed back in with your fuel. I want the Mopar exhaust but worried about drone in the cab and maybe being a little too loud due to my truck sitting under a carport and starting it in the morning. Great video. Keep up the excellent content.

    • @MOPARRAM-bd9zk
      @MOPARRAM-bd9zk  Před 2 lety +2

      The drone really isn’t that bad. Yes in the morning the cold start is very loud so having your truck under a carport would echo. Once it warms up it tones down some but when you put your foot in it she screams lol. I love it. On another note if you like to have the radio up then you won’t hear it unless you get on it. I’ll try to do an updated video of what it sounds like from inside the cab in the future so keep your eye out for that. Again thanks for watching and following the progress I appreciate it.

At least not yet anyways.The only other suggestion I can make is to check with the dealership to see if they have any extra pull with Mopar to just get the filter from the kit or if they can recommend a replacement filter that would fit while your other one is drying out.

      @@MOPARRAM-bd9zk Just a quick heads up for you. Went to my dealership today. Turns out, the first part number they gave me for the filter was wrong. Since the new GT packages are out, figured there should be better info for the filter. After about ten minutes on the phone with Mopar Performance Parts, parts department was able to get the correct number. Don’t have it with me though due to they kept the order slip with the number on it. Should arrive in 6 days. As long as it is the right part this time, I will get that out to you ASAP. Then you’ll be able to share it with anyone on CZcams looking for the same answer. @@MOPARRAM-bd9zk Your service manager was correct. MOPAR parts probably have a warranty on the item itself, but if installed at a shop and something happens to the engine it will be covered IF the installed part let to the engine failure. If you have an engine failure and they think the installed part is to blame and you installed it they COULD claim you installed it improperly. It is not an automatic thing though, it will be up to RAM to prove all of that. I cannot recall 100% but I think any ASE certified mechanic/shop can install the parts and you will be OK.

    Did this increase your gas mileage at all please let me know I have a 2022 dodge ram supposed to get 17 to 21 miles to gallon nowhere near that I’m only getting around 12 or 13 miles to gallon whether out city or Highway

    • @MOPARRAM-bd9zk
      @MOPARRAM-bd9zk  Před 2 lety

      It’s really hard to say. I never got bad mileage in the truck to begin with. Currently I’m getting 15-16 city with all my current modifications. I did a few videos on MPGs and what the truck was getting per each modification. It seems like it maintained RAMS recommended 15 city and 21 highway. I didn’t really lose and if I gained it was maybe by 1 or 2 MPG. A lot of things can go into factor when talking MPGs. What tire size are you running? What’s your gear ratio? How’s the air density in your location? Are you stock ride hight? And lastly what’s your driving habits? I know it’s a Hemi and I’m guilty on getting into the throttle from time to time lol. Lastly in all honesty don’t spend the money unless your going to do it correctly and tune for the modifications. You get the most benefits from the performance parts when the truck is tuned for them. I hope this helps and thanks for watching

    • @MOPARRAM-bd9zk
      @MOPARRAM-bd9zk  Před 2 lety +2

      I can’t say for sure but it’s designed after the Vararam Air Grabber. Vararam claims up to 30HP and 34-40 torque with no tuning needed. The Mopar brand is just made with better quality materials. I did notice better acceleration after installing but it really woke up after the truck was tuned for it. I’m not saying it adds 30HP stock but that is what is claimed. I do plan to get the truck on a dyno however it will be hard to say just how much the intake adds do to my truck being tuned.
