Well done Sir James Findley, well done. Your scapes are truly amazingly beautiful!! Keep them coming!
Finally I could hear your voice! You have something differently artistic in you. It is not just planting an aquarium for you. You make a living art

I like his voice , how he speak. The aquaspace wonderful! Keep going James !!!!!!!
This tank is an absolute work of art. IMO, this one and Tributary are your two masterpieces.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Mr. Findley.
James really has a gift for aquascaping. A very Amano-ish aquascape...
You are quite the artist, James. You inspired me to take up aquascaping. Also, you make a killer UV lamp lol I gave it a 5 star rating on Amazon. Works great.
Awesome! Super informative and inspiring.
Go for a walk in nature... I'm about to graduate with a bachelors in science, emphasis in forestry, and wrote my senior research paper on riparian restoration mechanics... I love being in nature and love being able to have a little slice of it at home in my tanks. Very much looking forward to using the same mechanical ideas learned in aquariums and aquascaping of riparian areas to restore their natural beauty, balance, and variety. Hoping to have an internship with the local arboretum assisting in managing their pond which is being used in an endangered fish recovery program. If not I want to apply with you guys lol
A very informative interview, a must listen to!
All your aquariums are absolutely amazing and breathtaking! It is a really good idea to make an interview!
It might be interesting to add subtitles (I haven't find it in this video) for the people who can't all understand in this interview (because they doesn't speak english for exemple)!
Looks fantastic!! Great work!
You don't know how much help this video was to me haha
found it very interesting that you compare it to painting, I actually think that placing plants have a more pre visualization since they will grow. painting is actually much easier since what you put down is what you get.
I do enjoy James talking about his work, i think you should make more interviews like this, maybe a tad more focused towards medium to experienced aquascapers...
between Takashi Amano and Oliver Knott James Findley is up there, but he is the only one that has English interviews.
Thanks for the comments and feedback, we are glad you enjoyed the video.
TheGreenMachineLtd really inspiring vidoe ! i was a marine fan and enthusiast for many years but due to a divorce and stuff had to sell my tank of ten years was fut reanching ! but i am soon to start back into fish keeping, and a planted tank is what route im going down! can you give a ruff estimate of a budget id need to start a 5x18x18 tank with all the substrate and additives i would need? price including tank but not lighting as i stil have these from my marine set up!! i was planning a budget of £1500 pounds but not sure if this would cover it?? many thanks garry
wow i would love to go in store and get criticism from Findley himself =D
Nice interview, nice to hear a voice to your scapes, deffently a inspiration, keep up the great wrk :)
Nice interview.
fantastic natural looking aquariums. would like to have a go but do you need special lighting
this is my #1 favorite tank
It would be nice if they would include the type filtration co2 and maintenance of the tank
I noticed that in most of James' works he adds shrimp or small fish, but I've always wondered, would it be a good idea to add crustaceans such as small crabs or crayfish?
beautiful. thank you.
Your aquariums look amazing.
Hey James when are you planning to change to LEDS??? There are some really good ones now
The green machine. amazing
Btw. If I ever come to the UK, and visit your store, you are going to have a hard time getting me out of there lol.
Why does James talk about himself in the 3rd person?
+Shoulders of Giants - James isn't the narrator.
@@TheGreenMachineLtd I have my doubts about that ..
when are you guys going to make another awesome aquascape =D?
Question? Why don't you put a cover on the tank??? Dust/Lint
Cool!
Hi, I have in my apartment one free wall around 3m long. If I want to make shallow setup, what would be best dimensions for that aquarium? Dimensions like W300cm x D30cm and H20cm would be too stupid? I would like to make something like this linear setup "flowing hardscape" and I dont know if to use rocks go out of tank. I think the water would evaporate too much without cover? or? Can you suggest me dimensions for hight and deep for width of 300cm dimensions ?
It's awesome...
friend I'm from Brazil, I would like to know what the aquarium measures?
true master
Will the Arizona aquascape video be up any time soon?
It is on it's way, sorry for the delay.
If ever I won the lottery, I would love for this man to aqua scape my Discus tank;)
hi James,
leider kann ich kein Englisch, aber ist finde es wunderschön, was Du machst.
Grüße Babs
makes me want to start a planted tank
can james make a aquascape for apistogramma, that would be cool
i love these tanks but i am not in uk currently , do you do any international delivery
I live in amarica and I really wanna hi there
I tried to order products on TGM store, it says that its closed. Forever.
I'm from India. How can I get fossilized wood in here. I'm trying hard from last 3 months to find it but failed. Thanks and regards :)
friend, what measures this aquarium?
Great aqua!!
Can i use sand as substrate? (From sea)
no
it will kill the fish
can u guys setup a brick and mortar store in nyc?
That would be exciting :)
TheGreenMachineLtd Exciting, sure. There goes all of my time and money! :)
Cool! Thumbs up!
This tank isn't available anymore on the site?
This aquarium size has been discontinued but we may be able to make a custom aquarium to these dimensions. Contact our shop if you are interested. Thanks
Hey bro where can I get some fossilized wood like this and how much is it per pound
www.thegreenmachineonline.com/search-products/results/fossilised+wood
Lighting ?
Love this Aquascaping. Just not a something I could budget. Not to mention they rely on power. Thats alot of lost money to have a long power outage and not be able to afford a genorator. Maybe I could try a micro tank. Have to find a local dealer though.
Хорошая школа аквариумной эстетики! Жаль,что обучение на английском.
What happened to him?
Some day I'll go to your store and go crazy, some day some day...

I disagree with his opinion on Co2. There are people that have kept "high tech" plants without Co2. Numerous people have kept Dwarf hair grass or baby tears. Even Dwarf baby tears and glosso and stuff without Co2. I know he's the expert but There is proof that it can work for hard plants without Co2. Yes Co2 helps but it is possible without it.
it is possible to carpet with dwarf hair grass, glosso & dwarf baby tears without co2 injection. but, i used root tabs, dirt and a planted substrate in a nano tank. so the light penetration or PAR are great from the shallow tank. the only thing is that the plant growth is so much slower. but, if one buys a lot of these plants at one time and use a nano tank, then these plants without co2 will fill a nano tank quickly. co2 is great for ppl with a lot of time and money. but, if you want 1 or 2 great looking small tanks (5-20 gallons), co2 is not necessary, especially, if you plant once and setup the hardscape once the way you like it and leave it alone. presto! beautiful cheap tank! as for excel, i eventually used it but it was growing for months with out it..... but, i think the organic dirt made a difference, which he forgot to mention about low tech tanks.
***** the dhc on the 20 long had diy co2 then i took out the diy c02 and had it running for a couple of months without it and it seemed fine. i took out the diy c02 b/c i didn't feel like refilling it and the dhc had carpeted every inch of the substrate, so i felt like i didn't need the diy c02 anymore. the tank has since been rescaped and i have a diy c02 setup with dbt. my comment though was based on a nano tank i use to have that i no longer have running using organic dirt.
***** my comment was base on my experience with organic dirt in a 6 gallon nano tank with 26 watt 6600k single helical bulb. in it were glosso, dhg & dbt, as well as crypts and java moss. the carpeting plants didn't carpet fast but it slowly grew on top of each other (maybe over a period of 3 months). the substrate to cap off the dirt was a mixture of fluorite and fluval stratum and i put root tabs once. my ferts were flourish, so nothing fancy. i also put red clay with the dirt for iron. it was my most "balanced" & low maintenance tank i have ever kept. i also learned from previous experience to make the organic dirt not too thick, so i had maybe half an inch or less of organic dirt and an inch or less of substrate on top of it. i said it was low maintenance and balanced b/c the algae were mostly on the glass & very easy to clean. my two remaining tanks now have string algae issues.... which cling to the plants and although removable, can also uproot the dbt's....
ok So would be dosing Flourish excel and flourish iron work for a carpet plant with high light? A lot of people seem to think that you need both the high light and Injected Co2 via canister of some sort.. I'm not sure I believe that. Because excel is supposed to mainly be a carbon dosing.
rexlinkfish . i think high light, proper plant substrate with organic dirt in my experience is enough to keep dhg and dbt happy. i also added red clay for iron and root tabs. and with excel for liquid carbon--is plenty i think. i also think a shallow nano tank helped so the light intensity was strong to reach the plants. i got green glass algae, but green glass alage is the easiest algae to clean in my opinion.
Great youtube channel and love all the tanks. You could check out my channel and see what I have done, with inspiration from your youtube channel. Thumbs up and sub'd. Good luck for 2014
Cool!
