I am creating my first journal ever for 2024! I have long bought beautiful journals but have been terrified of ruining them! This year, however, I'm going all in! I'm making a travel journal both of places I visit and wish to visit one day, and I'm also going to create a recipe journal of my son's favorite recipes for when he leaves home. 🍃What a wonderful ideas list it really is endless on how you can use a journal. This year I am using my journal for capturing the wildlife in my urban backyard. I have some characters that visit so it will be fun to record all their activity because sometimes they are so funny. ❤😊🍃

I think I’m most likely going to use the book writing journal idea, because I’m currently writing a book! But I would change it a little bit because I wouldn’t write in the journal but digitally. I would just use it to write down ideas (because when I’m not home I suddenly get ideas but forget them when I’m back home, so I would take the journal with me), information about characters so it’s easily accessible and for plotting. You have inspired me to do the botanical press notebook idea, which I shall start in the new year. I enjoy hiking and kayaking, so I think that kind of journal would be fun to document different plants and flowers I see 😊
While I am on winter break I am planning to start a short trip experiences journal. I used to scrapbook vacations now I want to hold on to these memories in a journal.

I’ve been dying to make a recipe journal for so long but haven’t found the right one. Cooking is huge with my family and we have quite a few family recipes. My great great aunts carrot cake recipe is in old southern cook book and of course we only have one copy and have to go off a photo on out phones to make it home😂 We have ever growing family recipes that not only I’ve added too. Something I’d add is probably an herb and season glossary type deal to list different combinations to use for different flavors and dishes. All you’re content is so inspiring ❤

the wind chime on the cover of the journal from Kuma really resonates with me because it is something we still hang in our family house and it's such a fond memory, the ideas that you shared in this video are so amazing that I don't know what to choose but I really want to start working on vision board journal, language journal(since I have been learning Korean since January this year), lettering/typography journal, and the wonders journal (since I always have something I am wondering about no matter the time and place). Also, the unsent letters journal is something I would use for writing my thoughts about what I am going through at that time(and not about feelings for someone but rather life situations and crises). Sorry for writing a whole paragraph but the ideas are all so much fun to do( almost forgot to mention the recipe journal) I love to draw each ingredient along with a visual description of each step of the recipe (if you know what I am saying🥺) I love your journaling style so much plus your art style in your journals is always I admire, the Kuma stationery that you are showing in this video is so amazing and the color of the notebook is so calming💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Scripting is a good idea too. Or also as what is know as letters to the universe.

I love the idea of practicing lettering styles and I love collecting quotes so I think I will combine the two.
