In the ancient Korea (Chaoxian朝鮮 -Real historical name, Chinese territory and the Chinese regio before 1910). In 918-1910. It was two different ethnic groups.
1.Chinese (Han Ethnic)(Wear color and pattern clothes) - Ruler and nobleman
    2. Korean (White Clothes Ethnic)( Wear white clothes without pattern) - Civilians and slaves
    1. Ruler and nobleman (Goguryeo高句麗 , Baekje百濟, Silla新羅 , Goryeo高麗, Joseon朝鮮=Chaoxian朝鮮 ..):
Chinese local officials and nobles (royal members, monks, scholars, soldiers, architects, technicians, and their families ...). They are Chinese (Han) and their descendants born in the local area. They have always wore China in China costumes. They speak Chinese language (official and Han dialect) and Chinese characters. They are Chinese officials and represent the Chinese emperor's governance of the ancient Korean Peninsula (朝鮮).
Local Chinese officials (Chaoxian king朝鮮王) and Chinese nobles in ancient Korea (Chaoxian 朝鮮-Chinese territory). They all Chinese clothes (hanfu), headdress (hat and crown), silk cloth (including embroidery), soldiers (such as: defensive clothing, horses). Weapons (including cannons), Chinese literature books (including Chinese history, Taoism Buddhism), Chinese special architectural materials (including palaces and design paintings). Food materials (Chinese food and Chinese royal food), wooden wheels used, large military ships, etc. are made from other cities in China).
Among them, the Chinese royal's (Chaoxian king /officials and nobles) Hanfu comes from Chinese han clothes, opera clothing, and hat crown headwear. Therefore, the fabric on the clothes is high -level. There are a large number of Chinese official dragon patterns and various traditional Chinese patterns (including Chinese characters) on the clothes.
    2. Civilians and slaves (Goryeo高麗, Joseon=Chaoxian朝鮮 ..only appeared in history after the 13th century):
Civilians and slaves are indigenous Koreans (White Clothes Ethnic白衣民族). They speak Korean language. Long -term banned learning and use of Chinese characters 漢字(except a few descendants of mixed with Chinese people).
Korean people cannot use any pattern of Chinese imperial power. 龍dragon and 鳯phoenix. In ancient times, this was a beheading and destroyer.
    * Chinese patterns and Dragon's totem represents the symbol of the ancient Chinese and Chinese power. Korean people cannot use any pattern of Chinese imperial power. 龍dragon and 鳯phoenix. Only the Chinese royal family and senior officers can use it. If the "White clothes Ethnic 白衣民族" (today's ancestors of Koreans) use the pattern of dragon and use Chinese characters. They will destroy the tribe and beheaded.
Korean characters韓字 are text used by slaves. Ancient Korean can only use Korean characters (after the 15th century. Chinese officials - Chaoxian king and Chinese scholars who settled on the Chaoxian朝鮮 . Chinese officials use Chinese characters and Korean language to create "Korean characters韓字 ".) for slaves.
These low Korean soldiers are used to protect the Chaoxian Peninsula 朝鮮半島(Chinese territory) to prevent Japanese pirates from invasion.
In ancient Korea (Chaoxian朝鮮 ) does not have any technologies and processes such as metal , Bend the wood and dye embroidery patterns.
Most Korean men became low -level soldiers in the Chinese army (under the command of Chinese officers). There is no armor. Korean only wear pure white clothes and korean women's clothing is exposed nipples (Hanbok - Features of traditional Korean clothes).
All Korean women use their heads to move anything (similar to other primitive tribal culture). Korean houses are cottage built with grass (only Chinese can live in Chinese palaces and temples).
Korean people earn food in the market concentrated on exchanging items. They do not have any coins and any metal things. South Korea's national culture and tools for use are very primitive.
    * Chinese patterns and dragon totems represent the ancient Chinese and symbols of Chinese power. Only the Chinese royal family and high-ranking military officers can use them. If the "White clothes Ethnic 白衣民族" (today's ancestors of Koreans) use dragon patterns and use Chinese characters ((In addition to the mulattoes and those working in the Chinese palace)), they will be exterminated. and beheaded.
Writing history is the tradition and habit of the ancient Chinese.
The history of the ancient Korean Peninsula was written by classical Chinese. This was read for the Chinese and must be approved for the Chinese emperor. This is a record and governance story of Chinese officials and nobles on the ancient Korean Peninsula.

Since there was ancient civilization North of North Korea with Stonehenge and waved sword only mostly found in Korea and North region, there as a culture that had religion, language, culture, metallurgy. If that is the indication, the recent discovery of the red mountain including the Godness statue wearing a Bear necklace (Bear is symbolic for women in Korean culture at that time there was Bear nation and Tiger nation and Bird nation(the root of ancient Korea has bird at top of their totem poles) and most likely Bird nation took Bear nation's princess(VIP woman) as Bride) -- that dates back 7000 BC. Fast forward to about 700 AD, After writing was more prevalent, the numerous books scripted by "GongJa"(Confucius) words by his followers from China indicated "GongJa" say he learned everything from 'north' civilization. Thus, most historical documents indicate China's civilization was derived from this civilization. The Chinese books indicate 'north' civilization just 'north civilization' without a name. However, Korean calls in "GoChoSen" which means ancient (go) Cho (bird) sen (nation) of the old Korea. This first civilization of east Asia was so large that its people moved out to both east and westwards. The same or exact same artifacts are being discovered in North Italy to Ireland and Finland, to east all the way to Mexico, and along the traveling route, same or similar artifacts and languages are found. By the way, the next nation was called "Gogyro" which means hook which the ying-yang symbol came from, it means 'order or harmony via governing' set by GoChoSen. And following after GoChosen was the nation name of "Go (old) gyro (hook)' the 'hook' part 'gyro' became 'Korea' in the present day. It's interesting to find "Mississippi" "Michigan", etc and its meanings are the same as Korean! "Mi" - means in Korea is 'freshwater or river'; "chi or ci (si)" - means in Korea 'fish' - sippi and gan - means in Korea 'place (home or house), Again only in old GoChoSen languages. Note that in linguistics, it's very hard to not only match the sound but also the meaning. If I follow the logic, unless there was a large population and civilization with the resource and advancement of culture only can have the means to explore in the motivation of necessity or curiosity. And the people from such civilizations can only expand and overlap o ver further expansions It may be worth studying the "yo-dong" civilization and first nation of Eas Asia (or maybe the human Sapien Sapien) "GochoSen" more in-depth. It can bring together the puzzles of where nations come from and why there was a road before the silk road that was well-traveled with premium horses and carts with carts at least 5000 BC before the silk road.

Today Korean Ethnic ancestors are the southernmost indigenous people in the ancient korean peninsula (Chaoxian Peninsula朝鮮半島 , Real historical name - Chinese territory before 1910)It is known as "white clothes Ethnic白衣民族" in history. They speak Korean language. There is no characters. There is no coin (exchange items).
In history, Korean women clothes (Hanbok) will show nipples after marriage. Women use their heads to transport things. The ancient Koreans were 95% wearing white (without any patterns and dyes). This is also the identity of the Korean ethnic's ancestors as "white clothes Ethnic白衣民族" to be used by non -Korean ethnic (ancient Chinese do not wear white clothes, except funeral). This is very certain.
Goguryeo 高句麗 is one of the Chinese regimes of the northern region established by the Chinese . Baekje 百濟, Silla 新羅. (formerly known as: China Tang Silla 唐新羅. ).... It is also a regional regime established by the Chinese.Their kings and nobles are proficient in Chinese language. They use Chinese characters.
    Wong's Goryeo王氏高麗, li' Joseon李氏朝鮮 ... .....
Their royal nobles are not the same ethnic group with Pingmin slave. The royal nobles are Chinese and descendants (born on the peninsula). Civilian slaves are indigenous Koreans.
Their king and nobles can communicate with the Chinese. Long -term exchanges with the Chinese. Using Chinese language and text represents noble identity. (They use the name of the Chinese . Chinese governance method. They wearing Chinese clothes. Chinese emperor is a parent.).
They used various methods to limit class mobility to avoid others (koreans) from becoming "nobles".
Their people and slaves (white clothes Ethnic白衣民族) are prohibited and learned Chinese language and Chinese characters. These people use Korean language. There is no characters (until the 15th century). Almost all are illiterate.
The creator of "Korean characters" (諺文real history name). It is ancient Chinese people (royal nobles and scholars in peninsula) who can speak fluent Chinese language and deep understanding of Chinese characters漢字 and classic Chinese文言文 .
Use the method of decomposing Chinese characters. Mixed Koreans' language. Creation makes indigenous Koreans who speak Korean. The symbol "Korean characters"(諺文real history name) that Korean can be used.
For more than 2000 years, the Korean Peninsula has been Chinese territorial and local regimes. Official languages and texts are also Chinese languages and Chinese characters漢字(classic Chinese文言文) .
1910. Japanese occupation of the Korea Peninsula (Chaoxian Peninsula朝鮮半島 , Real historical name - Chinese territory before 1910). The Japanese abolished Chinese characters. Korean language and characters (invention of the 15th century) of indigenous language began to popularize on the Korea Peninsula ( Chaoxian Peninsula朝鮮半島 ) .
1950. With the help of the USA. Become an independent country (North and South Korea), dominated by the Korean ethnic (white clothes Ethnic白衣民族). The official language is Korean language and Korean characters, which is only 70 years of history.

Dr. Peterson may know about Korea but he certainly does not understand the partition. The Soviets were resistant to participating in the war on their Eastern front - they maintained forces on the Mancuoka border and there were some local battles, but NO effort by Russia to participate in the war against the Soviets. ONLY on 9AUG - AFTER the A-Bombs had been dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, did the Russian declare war on the Japanese so that theu could take part of the spoils. They rapidly moved through Manchukuo and in rapid succession sent TWO CORPS+ into KOrea headed South. In an effort to STOP the SOviet ccupation which took the US by surprise, the US insisted they stop at the 38th parallell to keep some part of Korea free. Hodges did NOT land with US troops until some tme later. To infer that the US cut a deal with the Soviets as a reward is patently WRONG - as is to infer that the Soviets made any great contributions to the Pacific War. SImply not supported by the evidence. So, I'd say you were an 8, maybe a 7 on your history. Jim Palais would be disappointed!

The Russians had every intention of becoming involved in the war against Japan. The understanding was that they would enter the struggle three months after Germany's defeat. It's true that the dropping of the atomic bombs galvanized the Russians into action and they overran Manchuria in a blitzkrieg of their own. Korea was occupied jointly by the Russians and the US to disarm the Japanese forces there. The Russians wanted a share in the occupation of Japan but the US vigorously opposed them, lucky for Japan!

The Soviets had been promised a bunch of things by the allies in the Pacific front, back before the Nuclear bombs were an option. The Soviets probably had every intention of waiting until the non-aggression treaty with Japan expired (Apr 26), but when America dropped the bombs they realised the war would be over by then if they didn't act fast. They still wanted the concessions the allies had promised (plus potentially land in Japan itself). When Japan surrendered the Americans realized that giving too much to the Soviets would be counter productive and in the end it played out similarly to what he described. America would have preferred not to partition Korea but after playing the cards the way they had had, leaving the North in Soviet control, at least temporarily, was pretty much unavoidable.

The Joseon Dynasty did not end in 1910. In 1897, King Gojong declared himself as Emperor of Dae Han Jae Guk.
The last Empress of Korea, who was killed by the Japanese in a very gruesome way, knew the modernization, industrialization was the future and was needed but it had to be done by the KOREANS not by the Japanese.
Joseon Dynasty is not looked at as a negative dynasty. Of course there are good and bad things about a country.
Most Korean dynasties state that they were founded taking after a previous dynasty.
Most Koreans were not in favor of the Japanese way. Most Koreans were not collaborative. The ones in favor were the ones who wanted to make money and sold the country.
Unfortunately, pro-Japanese people still had a lot of power after the liberation of Korea, so the history taught about Korea was written by pro-Japanese people. Especially what is taught in the western schools.
Current professors, students, and the general public in Korea is speaking out about learning the correct history and rewriting history books.
You bet there will be changes in Korea, I'm just hoping there isn't too much hardship for the people in making it.

Korean Hanbok is a traditional costume worn by the child(khan, han,🤴)of the sky when they perform rituals to the sun and the moon.

History was distorted and divided, and when under colonial rule in the 1800s, they learned colonial history.
Currently, Koreans have fled (moved) the dynasty to the Korean peninsula where the Russian embassy was located in the 1800s with Emperor Gojong. Korean means continental nobility.
Modern Joseon(chosen ) and Ming(明) Dynasty are the same thing.
Cheonjamun was created by the ancient Korean "CHOSEN". 🇰🇷 The old Korean name is "CHOSEN". Characters like "bowl" containing the original ancient language are called sonic characters. Over time, multiple meanings began to be added to a single word. As a result, communication problems arose. So, we studied to solve this problem. As a result, separate meanings were made to create characters. As a result, a cheonjamun with meaning was created. King Sejong of Korea did not create text. It distorts the history of hangul in Korea. Also, the original name, not "hangul", is "cle ssi or cle thi or glish". Its history goes well beyond at least 5,000 years. “GLISH” in English is rooted in Korean characters. In addition, Korean language is the root of the world's languages, including Sanskrit and English in India.

Emperor Gojong moved away from the continent and before the establishment of the Taiwanese government, Emperor Gojong flees to the Korean Peninsula where the Russian Embassy is located
This means that the dynasty moved to the Korean Peninsula.
At that time, Vladivostok was called Liaodong Peninsula or Giza, meaning the same.
This is the Korean peninsula now.
Japan wins the Russo-Japanese War and is occupied by the Japanese army. This is the current Korean Peninsula.
Joseon is the continent itself, and it is now the People's Liberation Army that the Korean peasant forces abandoned the scholar and joined the European forces to become rebels.
Because of these forces, the dynasty moved
That is why I came to the Korean Peninsula.
The Koreans are the scholar who defended the emperor, and they are called the descendants of the celestial son, and they are called CHOSEN = Josen.
They say that the bird came down with the seeds of the sun
The origin of hanbok is that when a rite is held in commemoration of that day, a rite in the form of a bird is worn.

This might sound crazy but Japan was a veritable democracy at the start of the 20th century. If Korean collaborators saw rapidly modernized Japan vs steadily declining Qing China and Joseon Korea, I find it very credible that many Koreans would willingly go along with Japanese takeover. Japan kick-started Korean industry and, as he mentioned, Koreans were elected into office in the Japanese democracy.
This didn't last because the Japanese democracy proved more fragile than expected and it soon devolved into a dictatorship that couldn't even control its own military. In case you were not aware, even the Japanese prime minister was assassinated by rogue military agents that ended up taking over the country.
So the many Korean collaborators of Japanese rule shouldn't really be blamed for being unable to foresee what the Japanese couldn't (and for that matter, what Germans and other European powers couldn't foresee in Germany.)

As for pre-20th century images of Japan in Korea:
Japanese piracy had always been an annoyance, and the Incheon invasions certainly didn't help the Japanese be well-liked in Korea, but I doubt they would be remembered as fervently as today if Koreans hadn't experienced it all over again during the waning years of the Japanese Empire, in which the military had taken power (like in the 16th century) and was committing atrocities left and right (like in the 16th century). It takes at least two instances to create a trend.

Those low rank assassins would be praised and not punished, because they were seen as brave heroes (I can't remember why...some sort of classic Japanese story about a brave lower class killing a higher rank.
But anyone who didnt fall in line..from artists to opposition...they ALL ended up either killed or put into japan versions of Gulags!
Then ...and I will not excuse Japanese war crimes...but then, Russia and Japan had their sino Japanese war and won. Japan had taken over Manchuria..renaming it Manchuko....
Then, the military AND the navy..which both HATED eachother..both worked hard go plan a large invasion...
I really need to learn more about the region...especially the history and content from the late era of Korean's history(josean) to the dictatorship of the 1980s...to today..
I am super curious to see how the josean political parties worked. I understand how like norons were from the north, and sorons south..and that they would constantly try and push the other out of court/kill each other...BUT! I AM SUPER SUPER curious to what the actual political party platforms for these different groups were.. k(Like how America had pro federal gov "federalists", and pro states rights/limited gov power "Democratic Republicans" I think.....
Does anyone have any suggestions of other Koren History lectures and playlists?? If so...please reply to this comment and list either the link or what I should Google/which CZcams channel I should look up to see the content you suggest!!
Hope everyone is doing well! Have a good one!

The Korean(corea) ancestors in ancient times of the ice age survived by escaping from the cold living inside caves.
They constantly made a fire to avoid the cold and drive wild animals out and they happened to find the copper(CU, bronze).
The Korean term Copper means caves and bronze.
In addition, the tribe who had discovered the copper (called copper tribe) created letters originated by the characters like clessi, clethi, cle, glishi and so on..
Afterwards, they constructed a civilized country Go(古)joseon(chosen=商朝)based on the bronze era.
Eventually, King Sejong not only systemized the letters of Go chosen and but also restored and compiled a language that contained sound(Pronunciation sound, 發音) for the purpose of establishing the identity of chosen(joseon) Dynasty.
But this historical fact was distorted during the colonization by Japan.
In addition, many cultural assets and the history of Korea were incorporated into Japan.
Japan erased four characters such as
    《ㆍ, ㆁ , ㆆ ,ㅿ》 among 28 letters.
The reason why Japan damaged Korean history is that everyone may be able to realize easily that the owner of the pyramid was the Copper tribe and that Joseon people are the descendants of them if we Koreans still have those four letters.
The first 《●》 means an initial life particle, the second 《ㆁ》 means the combination of yin and yang initial particles.
The third 《ㆆ》 means the combined life particles coming down to the horizontal lines.
The fourth 《ㅿ》 means the life particles are wrapped and protected.
And 《ㅿ》 is three meaning mountain, pyramid and womb.
In ancient times people around the world used Korean language. Hangul is a term distorted in the Japanese colonial era. The original term is "CLESSI". This is the roots of languages and characters around the world.

You don't need to troll here. Choson, Choseon, Joson, Joseon, or even others, anything is possible though the official rules of Korea gov' for writing korean into roman alphabet recommend Joseon.
Two or even more different languages are meeting each other thesedays, having different speaking and writing rules of themselves. Nothing can perfectly present others but similarly at most.
Each of those 4 choices has its own excuce to choose. 'ㅈ' of 조 possibly into either 'ch-' or 'j-' (either not matching perfectly), 'ㅓ' of 선 into 'eo-' or 'o', considering the accent of 'o' which can be either 'ə' or 'o' or something else, while 'eo' is more specific. From the these reasons, you don't need to bother him to chose Choson of all.
Even Joseon or others would change over the time, as the language itself has done and will do.
For giving disrepect to the professor, saying scores, BE SOPHISTICATED PLEASE, and HUMAN. We all are not perfect and don't need to be to give a lecture or presentation. I think he's already very good at his work.

There were no Koreans living in Japan before 1910. Some Koreans came to Japan to run from the persecution in Korea but that's it. The Japanese democracy has nothing to do with Koreans. The name changing was not mandatory. There were Koreans whose names were all Koreans. Like the Korean Japanese who got the gold medal in the Olympic during the Japanese rule. There are also too many false info to list up here. Has this prof. ever seen the news papers and school books written in Korean during the Japanese rule? Probably not.

It is in reference to the millenia of Korean kingdoms spread across various territories that had existed before Korea united into one nation. Those kingdoms covered much more land than the Korea you know of today.
