For photo walks
►Rode Wireless GO II With 2x Rode Lavalier amzn.to/3QV0k0l
And in the studio we use
►Rode VideoMic GO II amzn.to/3Skp837
For podcasting I recommend using a dynamic microphone as it will reject a lot of room sound and background noise. The most important part is to make sure you are as close as you can comfortably be. Using a pop filter can help reduce sibilance and plosives as well.
We just got a new dedicated audio recorder that is a much better option than using the camera's audio input - TASCAM 4-Channel Portable Audio Recorder - amzn.to/3FWPZxy

Ahh so jealous of the scenery and weather you have there right now. That pool and resort look great, wish you got to take more shots! Sounds like the flash capacitor died... Worth trying fresh batteries though.
Awesome results and yes those are great days out taking photos with your partner! I love visiting small towns with my wife and enjoying the area and bringing a camera along. As for the noise it sounds like the flash is charging which does lock the shutter of those era cameras. So good chance the flash circuit has gone bad.
Hey Alex, thank you for watching I'm glad you enjoyed and also love that you go out with your partner and take photos too, that's awesome!
Yes I think you are right about the flash, such a bummer! I have plenty of point and shoots though haha
RIP to the camera, but those shots turned out really well, at least! That weather sounds amazing, too.
Thanks Jamie! I'm still not sure on cinestill 50D as it's quite expensive, I like the shots I get from cheaper film stocks just as much. It's fun to try new films though.
@@LucyLumen Yeah, it's not an everyday film for sure, but it can be surprisingly nice in the right situations!
I like the view of the sea (2:21). Scotty has to beam me at the beach immediately. I hear already the sound of beaming from the star trek series. I better hurry up.
It’s a nice sunny day, how about a 50D and a nice abandoned resort. 👌❤️
In some cameras long beeping sound means battery has run out
That was my thought as well, could just mean replace the battery(ies).
Thank you for the advice, it has new batteries in it but I thought it could be that too so we tried replacing them and also the CR2025 inside as well and it didn't seem to stop the sound or fix anything. However I haven't tried since then so could be worth a shot! I'll keep you posted :)
@@ark8tct I wil try the new batteries in a few days again and see if it works, but as I said above the batteries were new and we did try and replace them once we got the film out. I will keep the camera regardless as it looks so cool and 80's :) thank you for your advice!
@@LucyLumen ☹️
Hi Lucy. Liked your conversation at pushing film a lot. It's nice getting some personal background. Made some comments there too. Stay tuned. Can't wait for seeing your new projects.
Hello my friend! Thank you 🙏🏻 for watching and commenting over there in his channel. I was really happy he asked me to come on and chat. How are you and the family?
@@LucyLumen We are fine and hope that our lives will get better and easier soon in the pandemic times. What about your baby? The teeth are coming? Sleeping well?
Yesterday I liked to hear about your many interests (vinyls, interdependent movies, bands, music, various niches etc.) that made an impact on your personality. I agree with you 100%, that movies influences how we see the world and how we compose our photos and other stuff.
My advice. Don't let get social medias too much in your head. Stay just as you are. That's perfect. Have you got already the chance to watch the Nirvana concert? I always think. This performance was not from this world.
@@LucyLumen You mentioned once trying out developing and printing film at home. That is a dangerous path. There are many toxic chemicals to use. And the ventilation in the rooms at home ist often very bad. That means you breathe in the hole time toxic fumes. My grandfather developed film and printing at home when i was a kid. There are many fotos of me at the age of 0-3. My grandfather died at the age of 49 because of lung cancer after a few years darkroom practice.
Coincidence? I don't know?
But darkroom work isn't harmless. The chemicals damages our health. For sure.
Be careful. Take at least a protective mask and ventilate your rooms well.
Really loved the tennis court shot at 1:30. The different layers in the background look like a mountain range to my eye. Sorry about the camera. I think we need a "film costs more than the camera" contest.
Hey Edward, thank you, I like that shot too! Bummer about the camera but yeah it cost less than the film haha that's a good idea for a contest. Thanks for watching and always commenting too, I appreciate it. Hope you are well. :)
Great video guys! I was at the coast this weekend, I wish I would have known about those abandos!
Bummer about the camera! How annoying!
Mint shots, as always!
Hey 👋🏻 thank you 🙏🏻 yes he is doing all the hard work and I’m doing the fun taking photos part 😁📸
I know such a bummer, it’s definitely a goner but oh well plenty more to use!
Thanks for watching, hope you had fun on the coast. 🏝👋🏻
Sorry that your camera died. At least you didn't lose the 21 shots. Film looks very good too.
Hey Dan, thank you, glad you liked the photos. Yes I am glad I could salvage the 21 shots, these things happen with film cameras it's all part of the analog experience hey! :)
Perfect day watching your video.
What a drag! :'( you got some nice shots in though.
Nice music too!
Thank you!! we are making a band camp site of all the music in the videos so people can listen back! We will let you know once its up :)
Video @ 6:01 "Bad news" - I'll post on an upcoming video close-up's of the specific issue in these aging L35 Nikon's - 1st, the electronics are almost military spec : I service these wonderful AF P&S Nikon's, and the MAIN service issues are related to aging plastic that breaks. But besides folks storing the camera away with batteries that have leaked their chemistry (migrating corrosion etc.), the breakage of rather STRONG advance related springs that 'tug' on their plastic anchor posts is the most problematic failure. These plastic posts when they give-way, put the camera out of sequence etc. (many will then call them 'bricked' or a paperweight).
Now after a failure these plastic anchors are still repairable. But if one has a working unit, proactively get it to a qualified technician who understands these weaknesses and allow them to reinforce (dabs of Epoxy) these weak points, At the same time there are switches that can use a bit of cleaning after-which an application of DeOxit electrolube will keep annoying electronic glitches from showing up (Basically a C L A).
My favorite of these Nikon P&S models is the rugged & weatherized NIKON L35 AW/AF. - BTW, the internal L35AF2 chassis used in the Weatherized model, still has these weak points, so be proactive...
Usually on old cameras like this, when the flash charged, there was an audible high frequency noise going from low to high, I assume it was reloading a capacitor. If it's like those cameras I bet there is something wrong with the flash or the capacitor.
Nice, sunny fotos of the spa. Who was behind the (1:50) house corner?
Your good mood is catching. Thank you. That is exactly what we need now in these times.
Hello my friend!!! thank you for watching and I'm glad my good mood is catching haha that is a nice thing to hear. I was peeping behind the corner in case there was anything worth shooting, but alas, there wasn't. What do you think of cinestill 50D?? It is quite expensive and I feel I get just as good photos from colour plus or gold and they much cheaper??
@@LucyLumen I have no experience with the cinestill 50D. If there is no special event, photo tour or experimental thing I guess the cheaper films will do a good job too. Expensive is not always better. Sometimes it is the other way round. The cheaper ones rarely disappoint, because you don't expect so much. And if you are lucky, the cheaper one's will surprise you.
Bugger about the camera. I don't use point and shoots, I can appreciate their usability but I like shooting 135 film in my F3, Kodak Retinas or Leica M3 because their bullet proof. Love that 50D. definitely thinking about buying some 50 or 250D for home bulk rolling. Whats your opinion on it vs more readily available stocks like gold, pro image etc? I am loving the 50 and 250D pictures.
Hey thanks for watching! F3 is a great camera and yes those types of cameras are all much more reliable than P&S cameras. I do like 50D but it's quite expensive and I feel like I get really great results from gold, pro image, colour plus and fuji c200 and they are all much cheaper and easier to source too. I think cinestill is a really cool company and I had so much fun shooting the 800t film, in my opinion that film has mure allure and is worth the price as it offers a really unique look. I still love trying new film stocks though and I would give 50D a go again in a different camera perhaps though. Whats your number 1 film stock to shoot?
@@LucyLumen i agree cinestill looks really cool but is too expensive to shoot often. Makes a great present though. I shoot pro image generally. But looking at bulk rolling the vision 3 stock.
That’s sad , why is the resort shut down ?
Just the usual development I guess, I think they are building an apartment block or something there now. Hope you enjoyed Eric :)
When i saw the shots of the pool i thought. Fill in the water and let's jump in.
You make it not easier not to live by the sea. 😎
The tennis court needs a little bid repairing. Perhaps hotspur John McEnroe had an issue with the referee? And the court had to pay for. 😜
Yeah we can hear the noise
I know so loud! I didn't realise how loud it was till I watched the footage back...wanted you guys to hear it so you could offer some advice. We did EQ I=the noise out after a minute or so so it wasn't so annoying!!
@@LucyLumen the EQI was very much appreciated
Nice 👍🏼
Thank you lovely :)
Ummmm Maybe Nikon p/s is RIP? Tried new batteries? I found Minolta p/s zoom compact in mint condition and I just processed test film and I can see the ring light leak! Totally wasted a day!
Nice weather up there! I can see why people from VIC go up there retire! Vic sucks! Cinestill expensive because of work they have to do before people can just simply process them at any local lab! Not sure worth or not. I think cheap film is just as good! Thanks for the video!
Hey, thanks for watching! Thats a bummer about the Minolta I'm sorry. Yes the weather is a huge bonus here and defiantly draws in the Victorians! I agree that cheaper film is just as good, I do like the cinestill 800t though. I think they are films you would shoot just occasionally.
thanks for watching lovely :)
What a pity your Nikon died. Perhaps it will function again after some time. Who knows? Cameras sometimes are like Divas. Not easy to handle.
"cameras are sometimes like divas" is a great line!!! I haven't tried it again since as the sound was so awful haha but like you say it might work if just left alone. I think it's the flash though that's broken or stuck??
Looks like something out of a apocalypse movie lol 😂 but nicer due to sun ☀️ great shots again keep em’ coming!
*ahem*
first! 😄
Thanks for watching hope you enjoyed :)
