It seems as though Ben has a small shrine dedicated to sprigs of mint found in the depths of his herb garden which he tends to day and night in his red shorts accompanied by an abundance of quiches - I have never seen someone so obsessed over sprigs of mint (though, and I think I speak for the fandom here, he should continue to place them on desserts :D ).

Whenever some garnishes something with a sprig of mint, I always save it and chew it at the end of the meal to freshen my breath.
Is it just me or is the sound of them cracking the chocolate extremely satisfying...
Around last year's Christmas I've gathered up with some friends and done a Zuccoto recipe. Ours had Panettone (Christmas bread) instead of the chocolate sponge and vanilla ice cream for the filling. It was delicious and super refreshing! I can't wait to try your recipe, it looks great!

I missed the mint when it was gone. It's just not a finished recipe if Ben doesn't add the sprig of mint! (plus, we know it bothers him if he can't add it) :)

My dad makes a Christmas Zuccotto for Christmas every year. He just does plain madeira sponge soaked in a tonne of alcohol with chocolate cream and then a separate layer of cream with Christmas pudding. It's the best dessert.

I just made this yesterday... But I dissolved some sugar in water, added quite a bit of mint liquor and poured it over the cake before filling it with the chocolate filling... Soooooooo good...
