- Two explorers set off to southwest China in search of the elusive Shangri-La.
Taking a cue from links between the book Lost Horizon, and Joseph Rock's travel stories published in National Geographic, we embark on an arduous quest.
Could the mythical place be based on Muli in Sichuan?
I have been reading a lot about ShangriLa and Shambala as it is my passion.... Many times I think ShangriLa is a superior state of mind that all of us can reach by developing our potential in intelligence, Love and Energy☯️ Then our vibration in that state could materialize ShangriLa and find the way back home...💜🙏💜☯️

Its true mate.when I was off the drugs,every nature n wildlife areas i went,it became shangri-la.I would just get mesmerized by the natural designs of simple trees,mountains and rivers and get totally lost in the nature.i would just stare at a tree for minutes and just be hypnotized and be happy like i was seeing at a miracle for the very 1st time.Its like living in the moment and being free from the grip of time and materialistic reality and sufferings.

The area where Joseph Rock had explored in the 1920s, it is renowned as The Joseph Rock‘s Route in China's outdoor community. I hiked this route in 2018. We spent 6 nights in the mountains and hiked near 100km. The landscape is magnificent. We camped by the Lexi lake on the last night in the mountains. When I set up my tent after a storm, I saw the most miraculous moment in my life, a double rainbow appeared over Yangmaiyong mountain, which was dyed golden by the sunset. I believe some gods are living on the top of the mountains at that moment.
Another amazing thing I want to mention is we have shot the same photo in that iconic stone with the same pose.

I see double rainbows regularly here. Its not Shangri La. Its New Zealand.
I once attend a Tibetan Rinpoche talk and someone ask him if shangrila exists in reality and the Rinpoche reply with a burst of laughter almost like a empty laughter : " its a 3 dimensional place that exists in a purest state of mind, dont go searching for it it will comes to you if you have strong faith, compassion and practice, there are in fact more blissful and better place than shangrila that also exists"

At Feilai Monastery you'll be gazing over the equally magnificent Kawagarbo, one of the most sacred mountains for Tibetan Buddhism and the tallest of Yunnan standing at 22,113 ft. Best luck to you man

We can find only when we are spiritually high state, then only we see path to Shangri-La or Shamba LA. We have to be invited by yogis in Shamba La otherwise we can't go to Shamba La. Many yogis in india visited this place.

The mountain 'jam-bay-yang'..... Its a clue actually as the word jambayyang is a name of a Tibetan god... And there is this myth or prophecy that when the earth will be filled with water and violence... God Jam bay yang will reincarnate and safe the world and start a new world of his own... I think you should think about that mountain once again... Fyi I am Tibetan

I love your video concerning Shangri-la. I have read about the places you mention in your video in my internet search before I made my music video of Shangri-la. Your video is an excellent video of what I know about Shangri-la. It agrees with much I have read about this mystical fabled placed considered "Heaven on Earth". Could Hilton be referring to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Blue Moon Valley as being Kunlun Mountain Range in the novel? There is such a mountain by that name in Yunnan. It resembles much of what is described in the novel.
I would love to use some scenes from this video of yours should I decide to make a follow-up video to my music video of Shangri-la entitled, "Shangri-la music video (English version)" which I posted on CZcams.
We looked at that but Joseph Rock did not write about these places until after Lost Horizon was written so there was no way he could have known about them.
I lived years near Mt Everest working for Masters. Amusing to see all the tourists coming through thinking they would find Shambhala or Shangrila (or other realm) if only they paid enough, pushed hard enough, had the right bomb or tech to get in. Little understanding of the need for spiritual purity (and you could die if you don't have that), or that the whole area of such a place might only take up an area one foot by one foot in this dimension... Masters would say if only western people put that much effort into their spiritual practice and serving others... And beware of all the tourist operators who use it to get tourists and $$$$$, particularly in China...

Shambala / Shangri-La is a divine City.
* It is currently closed and invisible to the present World.
* Only divine beings can go there astrally.
* When all the people of earth grow spiritually and match with its frequency then it will be visible and open to all.
* It is present somewhere in Gobi desert between Mangolia and China.
You can't find it as it doesn't exist.... however, if you close your eyes & have hope in your heart, you can imagine it & dream. 😊🙏🏽

The mysterious Shangri La is actually on another plane of existence or in the other dimension. There have been countless of Shangri La like experiences by monks, meditation practitioners or normal folks in Thailand.

Shangri-La is "known as" a fictional place, the Agartha and Shamballah. Legend has it that those who lived there were immortal.
Nothing is permanent, no beigs immortal but subject to change.. Shangri-la in Buddhism is another relm or dimension where ppl have long lives and no illness.. Human in that relm live too long we think they are immortal no they are not.

The real name of the place is Shambala, Kallappa is it's capitol city. Avatar Kalki (Vishnu@Krishna) will be born as Rudra Chakrin to mother Sumathi and father Vishnu Yasha to clean the Barbarian Mlechas and will reestablish Sanathana Dharma (Hinduism). Only pious people can see & go to this place by using Kala Chakra Tantra Yoga. (Sources Srimad: Bhagavad Purana, Kalki Purana, Vishnu Purana, Bhavisya Purana, Brahmanda Purana, Mahabarata and some Buddhist Scriptures in Tibet says Buddha will reincarnate as a final incarnation there). However, according to ancient Hindu scriptures even Buddhist was 9th incarnation of Vishnu. It is very consistent that final incarnation "Avatar" "not messenger" will take place in Shambala whether it's from Hindu or Buddhist scriptures.
If its not a place of goodness, kindness and peace the people have not found what they are looking for. The tourists are not looking for a city with a good name. They are looking for a good place. If they cant find the good they are looking for why would anyone go.

Shambala is as real as your hands. Exalted Yogis in India alluded to this place like sivananda paramahamsa and Anandamayi Ma. However, it cannot be reached by simply walking to it. One must be a real Yogi to enter this space.

For some reason you remind me of Michael York. Shangri-La is real. I have traveled the world and I am not so sure it is not more of a state of mind than an actual place. Most people in today's world, do not even take the time to look. I never would have believed there to be a place where time does not exist. I feel sorry for those who live a lifetime not even trying to find Shangri-La.

The best thing to do is look up info from the tribes. I grew up around these different tribes so i can hear from family member n some things I'm not supposed to even know or tell. Research books from tribal members, but there are a lot they can never tell anyone. The gov't has infiltrated many many tribes also.

Since, Shambhala is a rainbow lite realm. Study practice the Dharma is your quickest ticket there.
you cannot get a ticket to Shambala (or Shangri-La). You have to surrender your ego, learn to stop thinking endless thoughts of matter, give up being of the world only, and patiently, with no ego, return your focus to what you really are and always have been. It's a return. Ultimately, it's a matter of Divine Grace.

Almost identical to what Jesus said "The Kingdom of God is within you"! Sara's use of the word "ticket" was a mere euphemism or metaphor for spiritual advancement or progress toward Enlightenment. Fulfilling one's "Dharma" as she said is one important path toward that goal.
A heaven world of happiness, Shangri-La, is it in existence or imaginary world. If there is Shangri-La it may be in different phase. In this age of Kaliyug, Dharma(religion) has lost it's value. Artha(money) and Kama(endless desires), selfishness are ruling the world. Shangri-La is the inner world of human being. The reference to find Shangri-La is the 'Horizon' novel which may be imaginary. A 'la' is a mountain pass, and Shambha La is probably a mountain pass leading into the Yarlung Tsangpo Gorge. Shambha may be the great Tsangpo, also known as Shampo, who lived at Yarla Shampo which is the high mountain west of the gorge, between the gorge and Yamdrok Lake. Shambha La is revered in Vajrayana Buddhism and is mentioned in the Kalachakra teachings.

I only knew it was London because of the video text otherwise all houses and roads look the same in uk.there is no happenings and scenes of chaos on the streets like in most of the asian countries like india n sometimes I find it boring but the good thing is uk is one of the safest and well organized country in the world.

But to find the real sambala city,it is with eternal knowledge,rishis with age more than 100s and even 1000s

To find the real sambala I suggest not to go Tibet where they borrowed knowledge from vedas. .

You say a lot about Joseph Rock, and that's alright, but how about a mention of Peter Goullart and his book Forgotten Kingdom? Some people think Lost Horizon was inspired by the account of this Russian Taoist's stay in Lijiang. And I think when you talk about Kun-lun mountains, you have to see it according to Chinese mythic imagination as a place for the Taoist immortals and their peach blossom feasts. I myself doubt the connection with Shambhala very much. You say they sound similar, but to me they would be impossible to confuse one with the other. There must be a mountain called Shang in Tibetan, that would be a mountain (ri) with a pass (la). Okay, I've said my 20 cents worth, but I'll add congratulations for a well made film with gorgeous shots of Muli. Back in 2016, after a visit to Gyeltang aka Shangri-la, I wrote a piece called "Signs of Shangri-la" at Tibeto-logic blog. I think you might enjoy reading it.

I think it is more likely Shangri La is in North West Pakistan as the Lost Horizon mention the Hindus River as mentioned in the Lost Horizon then in Tibet or Nepal.
