You know you're getting old when you say " back in my day" or "these kids today" and the kids today really have no idea what it was like to live with the limitations we had back then, like no CZcams, no facebook, no high tech phones, no HD, no streaming movies like NetFlix, no digital pictures, no GPS, be kind rewind, payphones, movies that weren't based on anything, not having the rating system for TV shows like TVY7, and not being able to set up an appointment at the DMV like you can now online. That's just to name a few. That they really don't know how lucky they are. It makes you understand what the older generation when you were a kid where talking about when they would tell you "you don't know how lucky your generation has it".
Remember when you were a kid and you would see old people talk about the old days. You thought that these people we call "grownups" had their shit together and knew what this thing we call "life" was really all about. You wondered what it will be like to be old. And then one day you realize, that you're old (a "grownup") yourself? And you come to realize the terrifying revelation that there really are no "grownups", just kids that got old and had kids of their own and know one really knows what the fuck is going on. Yes, with age comes wisdom, but not maturity (at least for most adults). God I need a drink.

Actually given that the game had two endings but one let you skip the boss fight on the blimp to escape with Tawna on a bird this kinda makes sense in a Batman Dark Tomorrow Sort of Way
This would've been perfect for Kids WB or Cartoon Network on Saturday mornings back in the late 90s or early 2000s. It gave me a Tiny Toons/Animaniacs vibe.
Carlos Medrano I imagine it would follow a structure where in some episodes cortex makes a new animal mutation and crash has to stop it and revert it, and others were either crash or a main villain (bosses) have a small conflict and to solve it they enter a wacky adventure. The protagonists could have been crash, coco, tawna, Aku Aku, and polar, and the antagonists could have been the bosses of the games, cortex, nitrus brio, n gin and n tropy (in some episodes) and Uka Uka ( revealed later in the show)

The show has him in 11 minutes stories based on level themes or the endings in CTR but every now and then, there will be major episode of importance like say Crash finding a Colored Gem or Tawna managing to escape briefly and Crash making his way to Cortex's castle.
I would love a plot like Kortex coming up with a plan for world conquest all the time and Crash always somehow ruining it with his crazy ways.

This has got to be made by the same guys who did the Earthworm Jim cartoon. Same animation style, same zaniness and heart. I love it. Kinda wish this was more of an actual thing.

New update. According to producer Dave Siller, this was NOT a promo for a failed cartoon series, but a prototype intro and ending for the first game that Sony gave the thumbs down for (and yes Tiny and the Komodo Bros were planned for the first game before you point that out).
Cool find. I like the idea of Crash in hand drawn format. Too bad Sony didn't (hence it's absence in the first game). I admit Crash in an 'Adventures of Sonic' or Earthworm Jim style cartoon series sounds like an ideal concept. Is that Jim Cummings by the way?
Crash having an "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog"-style cartoon would be the best thing ever. Loads of laughs, and probably even a few memes coming from it.

*also, Tiny was originally called Taz and was changed due to the Tasmanian Devil's nickname - and Komodo Joe was on the original character menu (never saw anything with the bros until the 2nd game)
You can even glimpse the Komodo Bros in _samurai_ attire and wielding katanas, rather than Arabian outfits and wielding scimitars, fitting with the original concepts for them!
It's not a cartoon it's the original opening cutscene it was unused so they could use the technology of the PS1

Thats sad cuz it was really well made. FMV were also a huge advancement in technology back then the exec who blocked this must have had an even smaller brain than Crash.

It really has the old WB cartoon vibe, though if I had to pinpoint what show it reminds me the most, Hysteria. I think it's because of the theme song.

The end of the intro is without a doubt the best part.

Well, here it is. A Crash cartoon pitch. This might be the one Jason Rubin was talking about. This really looks like it was done at Universal Animation Studios... The same studio that produced Earthworm Jim and a bunch of Shitty Land Before Time sequels. This is the Bubsy Cartoon pitch done right. I'm actually shocked they didn't go for a 'Donkey Kong Country' cartoon approach, with really weird looking CG. Too bad we never saw an actual Crash Cartoon in the past. It seems like Universal really wanted it to happen...

I looked on their site, and it does say they did The Simpsons... But I thought Rough Draft studios did The Simpsons?

But I heard Charles zembillas bringing this cartoon back 2021 but he’s probably do they series and episode first and then might show release date of crash bandicoot cartoon since it was scrapped and cancelled but I hope they make this cartoon of crash bandicoot 1 cortex strikes back and wrap to and movie sequel animation film to be familiar like space jam of crash nitro kart cartoon movie sequel animation

If the writing was good, probably. But it could've been as bad as the Bubsy and Battletoads cartoons.

I think these were supposed to be cutscenes in the first game, but never made it in. Like the first one was supposed to be the intro for the game,
And the second one was supposed to be the final cutscene after you beat cortex.

the second is basically the basic "not 100% Ending" which kind of explains why 100% the game unlocks the second "true" ending with Tawna and Crash just flying away on a bird. Kind of interesting actually.

Haha, that was really funny. I really want a Crash Bandicoot Cartoon to be made like that. The episodes can be every level in the first game with a plot and comic events of how Crash reaches the end of the level in order to save Tawna and defeat Cortex in the final episode.^^

This also means that the original plan was to have the final battle against Cortex be *the bad ending* and the good ending was when you collected all the Gems and ran off with Tawna.
And knowing how hard it is to get all Gems in the first CB...that is just BRUTAL.
It's like the dev team was saying "Oh, you're not good enough to beat Road To Nowhere perfectly? Well tough luck kids, play the game our way or the heroes DIE!" Talk about guilty-based gaming!
I just "love", how some people write about their joy that Crash Bandicoot cartoon didn't come out. This opening looks really promising, I can't understand your complaints.
To me it really doesn't fit the series. Crash was always a mix of wacky and edgy. This has no edge.
@@rhysf.505 True but an opening is a cover. First impressions still matter but chances are this opening if it were for a tv show would contain wackiness and even some edge to it. Not Naughty Dog edge but still something. But again, the opening understandably doesn't suck everyone into it and promises a good experience.

Crash Mania It's a cancelled cartoon ad to promote the game that Universal did not agree to releasing because it seemed bad for business.
Crash Mania they're deleted cutscenes that were meant to be played at the beginning and the end of the game.

The funny thing is that if you go take a look at some of the concept art from before Crash's design was finalized, you'll notice that his look in these animations more closely resembles that.

The same could be said about Komodo Joe and Moe who are also in the background and they didn't exist until Crash Bandicoot 2 either.

Also, yeah, I wouldn't mind if we got a proper Crash Bandicoot cartoon in the 1990s with this style; it would've felt quite at home on Kids' WB along with Animaniacs, Pinky & The Brain, Freakazoid and the Earthworm Jim cartoon!
