    Blue steering wheel on the top left corner of the car screen means Autopilot (FSD) is engaged and in full control. I can take over at any time by pulling up on the left stalk, overpowering the steering lock or pressing the brake pedal.
    What is Tesla's 'FSD'?
    Full Self-Driving (FSD) is an optional extension to enhance Autopilot over time, with the ultimate goal of enabling fully autonomous driving.
    The currently enabled features require active driver supervision and do not make the vehicle autonomous. The activation and use of these features are dependent on achieving reliability far in excess of human drivers as demonstrated by billions of miles of experience, as well as regulatory approval, which may take longer in some jurisdictions. As these self-driving features evolve, Tesla cars will be continuously upgraded through over-the-air software updates.

    Very helpful thanks. Good focus on the nav screen and also on the view ahead through the windshield.

    14:15 that unprotected left was impressive, dealing with the Mercedes deciding last second to go straight.

      Agreed!

      Why was the unprotected left impressive? Human drivers do much more complicated left turns every day. And that goes on for years, without an accident.

    Very good vidéo...Nice to see one in Montreal...This version seems a lot better than the version 11.4 on my Model 3....please make more and if possible add more verbal comments when pertinent.

    You are BRAVE for letting FSD squeeze by those police vehicles! lol

    What was going on at the LH turn around 35:31. Was the red light just for the cyclists? The green arrow (on the RHS light) was for straight ahead (or was there an overhead light, out of camera view) that indicated you could turn?
    The challenge around the Montreal Island (in particular) are the pot-holes, the cones and road closures. Not to mention the pedestrians and intolerant drivers (LOL). I like your camera set-up. Great view. Thanks

      That light was indeed for cyclists. There's an overhead light for cars to turn left.

    FSD did well. Another Canadian tested FSD in Toronto recently, and there were many human interventions. The video is on CZcams.

  • @johnwalker348
    @johnwalker348 Před měsícem

    amazing video. in the future can you bookmark any interventions?

    • @TaiigerBlue
      @TaiigerBlue  Před měsícem

      Will consider!
      There were 3 total disengagements in this video (no other interventions):
      1. Avoiding potholes at 22:18
      2. Wrong lane selection to turn left at 23:20
      3. Turning right on a straight green arrow at 32:55
      None of them were safety critical.

      @DerekDavis213 Před měsícem +1

      @@TaiigerBlue A pothole is not safety critical, but it can cause 1000's of dollars of damage to your tires and/or alloy wheels.

    why did you disengage at 23:23? I agree FSD should have already saw the left gap and go there. (we need assertive mode to look for gaps and be in the turning lane though there is none marked). There was still time for FSD to change lanes I thought and there was no one else behind after that car passed.
    but then again, new user of FSD would not accept this late decision to change lanes. good you intervened. I hope 12.4 fixes this

    • @TaiigerBlue
      @TaiigerBlue  Před měsícem +2

      It had failed to pick the correct lane in previous versions, and likely would have tried to turn from the lane it was in. But I could have waited and seen what it did on this version.

    At 14:15 in the video, FSD made a fantastic left turn. At 16:20, was the vehicle too far from the red light stop line?

    • @TaiigerBlue
      @TaiigerBlue  Před měsícem

      It was, but not critical so I let it be.

    Merci! pour vos vidéos sur la conduite entièrement autonome. Je les trouve fort intéressants parce que muets ils nous permettent de nous faire notre propre idée. Nous aimerions savoir quel mode de conduite autonome vous préférez et pourquoi?

      I use Assertive as I find it to be the closest to how humans drive.

    очень уверенный автопилот, порой даже очень наглый)) особенно концовка удивила)) но ямы конечно для него пока непостижимое испытание
    в целом из него получается хороший водитель, пусть и научился "плохому" у людей

    We who don't have FSD, don't realize how difficult it can be for AI to drive in rush hour. It did pretty well and got to a destination at 31:49 of the video, but then what? Needs a human to know that you can't just stop there, you have to find parking and/or move on.
    Thanks for the video, very informative!

    • @TaiigerBlue
      @TaiigerBlue  Před měsícem +2

      Eventually FSD will either find a parking spot once it reaches the destination, or stop temporarily to drop the human off then go find a parking spot on its own.

      This is a local law in Montreal: one can only take the turn if the green arrow is pointing that direction or if the light is solid green.
      In this case the green arrow was pointing straight when Autopilot attempted to turn right, and it needed to wait for the solid green.
