Great to hear everyone's excitement about the Xpressor Neo here! The section where I’m explaining Auto Fast, the explanation is correct yet I’m using the word release where I’m - of course - refer to attack. So, when using a slow attack time, fast and loud signal impulses will be caught as Auto Fast speeds up the attack time.

Bro this setup was super complete. I see you’ve changed a few things. Why though? This definitely was a very good tasty and flexible setup.

Always aim to develop the setup! For example, I recently added the new Cranborne Audio HE2, which just came out. Speaking of flexibility, I’m switching to the Flock system. This will allow for next-level flexibility. Fired up!

The other 500 series modules just had a price drop, I wonder if they're coming out with Neo versions of those

Must be fun working with that gear and sweet PMC's. Nice demo!

So what do you think for having expressor as a main mastering (hardware) compressor before going "into the box" for additional compression (if needed) and final limiting? Do you think it's too much for it? I don't have the means to buy yet another top notch hardware comp. so ... Mastering compression is maybe max. -4 db GR (if even, if your mix is done right for EDM) so do you think only expressor is not going to work? Thanks. Subscribed! :)

You’re welcome! In your case, I would go with a more gluey type of bus compressor, like an SSL Bus+. However, if you apply -4dB of reduction, it’s important to consider using it in parallel to prevent overprocessing.

As always a great video and useful tips for us 💪 I also have the Xpressor in my Rack and I'm currently searching for a good Bus Comp to give my tracks the final polish. You mentioned that the NG Bus seems to be the best Bus Comp for electronic music. Do you have experience with the Bettermaker Mastering Compressor? I'm struggling between the NG and the BM as at the first look the BM seems to be more flexible (3 Comp modes, FF and FB and also an integrated EQ section). Thanks and keeping up the great work! Still one of my favorite channels on YT 🤩

Love hearing this. Thank you! So the ngBus is extremely powerful, and is one of my favorite units out there right now. I’m sure the BM compressor will serve you well too, and the EQ for the sidechain is a great function. However, the ngBus already has (next to the LP filter options) 2 alternate sidechain filter settings as well, T1 and T2. I use the MEQ and SPE from Bettermaker, they’re great.

Is the original xpressor still good and does it sound mostly the same ?
