- It was a mad thrash to get so many changes done to the Supra before GridLife. What an awesome effort by everybody. So rad working with some great friends on this car. The weekend did no disappoint as the car ran flawlessly and everything came together at the last hour in order for us to take our first step on a podium in this animal. This is definitely one of the highlights of my career getting to drive this car as hard as I can. Enjoy the sounds and progression in speed throughout the event as I got more comfortable behind the wheel.
Sorry about the Blown out Go Pro footy from the in car. That will definitely not happen again.

BOY an offset shifter handle would do you wonders. that shifter is 12" away from steering wheel. your spending a full second hand off the wheel to reach over there and grab it each shift. and in busy corners you can see the rush/panic its causing. absolutly LOVE this build and series!!!

Isn’t there provision for Hyd handbrake which most have closer to the steering wheel than the shifter.
Just put the lever in a tubing bender and get 20° on it
pneumatic paddleshifters would be nice too
the gap is probably for a pneumatic air shifter for future plan upgrades? Cus that's the only reason that I can think of, to make sense of the shifter being that far
This car is incredible man you and Dom and everyone else involved killed it, these shakedowns seem like they are going in the right direction and that thing is a monster all around!

That shifter is too much far from you, paddles would be the right thing, pneumatic. This engine revs so quick, deserve justice.

I don't think the gear ratio is adapt for the track but maybe I'm wrong, just my impressions.

It was awesome watching the Formula Supra get faster and faster. A 53.600 puts you _just_ within 1 second of the TA2 lap record at this track. Shout out to PhD Racing and Jackie Ding, who are right in the same space you guys are - between the GT4 and TA2 lap records. Major props to James Houghton, too, who proved just how capable these cars can be - man reeled off a lap that was 4 hundredths off of a fricking GTP Lights car. What an Evo....

Should add paddle shifters to control an air solenoid to shift from the wheel. Might not increase you shift times immensely but could give you the confidence to downshift and brake later into corners.
(Btw this isn’t me acting like a CZcams mechanic who “knows better”, I just selfishly would love to see it because this is my favorite CZcams project 🔥)
I don't think paddle shifters would work because he also wants to drift the supra. In fact i think that's why the shifter is so far, so a handbrake can be fitted
@@CarlosGarcia-ze6rt you can run an air shifter and a normal lever on a sequential at the same time tho, it’s just adding the solenoid and lines

It's so funny seeing so many drifting mannerisms. At the limerock long right-hander you're breaking too soon and downshifting too late and far too slowly you should have been in 3rd right at the apex. Great build you guys are amazing

Props to you for building this to do proper track work.. If it was some dedicated drift car it would be ridiculous.
Drifting is cool and all but anyone serious knows it's just a grass roots fun way to mess around.. It really seems as though the whole drift scene is running on hype alone now.
If you want to properly push limits, become a better driver and get the most out of a car you build a car for circuit work.
Not saying you can't do both but imo circuit is where it's at.
I think that's why he wanna dive into track driving now, to be a better driver

Do I remember correctly that the Judd motor has to be rebuilt every 3000 miles or so right? It’d be interesting to see a countdown of the miles in the Supra videos kind of like how you showed which changes you made to the car between sessions in the corner of the screen or just touch base. Have y’all figured out how many track days you can roughly get out of a motor?

That Judd engine really sings. During the F1 turbo era they made a four cylinder engine with no cylinder head to stop the possibility of head gasket failures. Those engines developed 1200 bhp out of 1500cc.
If I could suggest anything to change it would be the gear shift leaver. Its too tall and too far away from the driver, quicker and more controlled shifts would come from a lower (about 2 inches) and closer to the driver position. Just a thought
