It's amazing how they were able to use this filter in Megamind 2
lol
That is a sign the movie is Megamasterpiece!!
Lmao

Hey, don’t insult PS2 graphics like that
Can’t wait for the ps3 era nostalgia and we’re swamped with lens flairs and gray brown everywhere
The piss filter
Don't forget bloom
Also 720p with screen tearing.
@@corniel657the bloom on those old games give me nightmares today
Then the ps4
Most of these screenshots look like they came straight from Deus EX
Bro, thats what I thought exactly!!!
Never played deus ex yet watched few content on , I agree when thoughts of it was shown ...
I wouldn't be surprised if Deus Ex screenshots are a significant % of the overall training data here. Small niche projects like this don't tend to have massive quantities of training data, but just the stuff the one or two devs scraped off the internet in an afternoon.
*lip smacking intensifies*
Are you motivated today, Vergil?
An actually good trend for once.
Fr
W for ai filter
Can't wait for all of those small artists in the early 3d art genre to fade into obscurity cause of the sea of ai selfies

The only other good trend I can think of is the adult swim one 💀
PS1 Hagrid was the original GigaChad

Also the other oil paintings

I really like the usage of ps2 graphics in recent times, one I can think of is Anna-Logue, it's really underrated.
ye i love that channel

What about the PSP?

When the term PS2 graphics was an insult but it's now an aesthetic.
In some ways, the PS2 was the perfect console. It was released a year into the new millennium, and had a built in DVD functionality. Mix in a little 2000s wonder for the future, and you get the most sold games console in the world.
That boot-up screen will never be met in how hard it hits, too.
Also an extensive game library from 2000's to 2013!
Good console, but I found the early 2000s to be rather bleak. And the popular culture of the time kinda matched. Although the PS2 still had a lot of bright, upbeat stuff still. Things didn't get super bleak until the PS3/xbox 360.
@@Aeduo it was the digital apocalypse, tech was improving at an unprecedented rate, numetal was in, and every anime director wanted their own Evangelion.
Can't forget the backwards compatability
A perfect console that runs games at 13 FPS and below 480p... Blinded by nostalgia?
back to "analog" graphics, i knew this will come eventually, but these look more like early ps2 renders rather than ps2 graphics themselves, do not confuse ps2 at it's infancy and ps2 ready to jump to ps3, is worth to point out that some of those look like pre-render cutscenes from the ps1 era rather than ps2 itself.
I miss my PS2 whenever I think about it I get so much nostalgia, I like this trend. 🗿🗿🗿
@DontReadMyProfilePicture.283
Im gonna use you
I don't since I continue to play it through an emulator! PS2 library remains undefeated
Adding jungle in the back really adds on to the ps2 graphics
We staying in the matrix with this one🥵🥵🔥🔥🔥💀💀💀
We go back to early 2000s with this one 💥💥

"who wants ps2 looking games?"
*everyone raises their games*
"who wants to optimize said games to work on a pentium 4?"
*crickets*
and you gave them a bit leeway of performance with pentium 4, some of them even were dual core. meanwhile xbox og ran single core pentium III, and ps2 had probably even weaker CPU. but yeah I wish developers would optimize the shit out of games
@@abcdef-vk7si a better target I suppose would be whatever processor, the weakest one, that can play the games at 1080p/60fps with the integrated GPU, I'm not sure if a core 2 duo could for example run San Andreas that well. I know it's quite a bit more intensive than Vice City or 3.
The "demake anything to look like a 90's/2000's game" trend is eternal.
Wonder if someone’s done a ps2 render of an already existing ps2 render. 😂
frickin geniues
There's something kind of unsettling about having computers powerful enough to cause grid blackouts if centralised too closely recreating something in bryce, when someone could just.. make something in bryce.
PS2 depending on the year has many awesome games that clearly defeat the low poly effects of the early titles. But i agree that they have their own charm.
People got good at working around the limitations of the hardware back then. They really didn't have a choice in it.
@@Mirthful_Midori PS2 was very hard to figure out how to write code instruction and micro codes for the CPU/GPU, but in reality PS2 was very powerful, and the only one in 128bit
It’s all over when it reaches GameCube graphics
i mean, for once, thats a good use of ai. it does seem inoffensive too, its basically advanced filters. that is a much better use of ai than the other kinds of algorythms that steals art without permission.
What do you think the PS2 filter algorithm AI was trained on, if not on the work of artists who made the PS2 character assets back in the day?
it was? well thats a bummer@@DruidEnjoyer
@@DruidEnjoyerits not stealing art if its using whats in public databases to learn and not pass it off as its own.
@@Infernos94That describes +99% of AI art out there.
@@alexielouisl.8462 of course it was. It's Midjourney.
The closest i've seen of Silicon Graphic Renders being made for a Game was pretty much Render 96, looks so much of the warm colored posters of Super Mario 64, hope some games try to replicate that special style.
imagine if the AI was actually building and rendering 3D scenes... I know it's probably just mashing stuff together into an advanced collage again but it looks too clean to not propose
Whoever told you Stable Diffusion was just an advanced collage has no idea what he was talking about
@@Speejays2 Facts
Man, i’m a sucker for PS1/2 aesthetics, especially the old Half Life games. It’s so nice to see the aesthetic finally popularize again and hopefully it doesn’t become one of those “oh, you like [popular thing”?, well i’ll have you know, [popular thing] overrated.”.

Half-Life is a PC game, zoomer.
@@DrundeFPS still has ps1 graphics
@@DrundeFPS Half-Life was ported to PS2. It even had a co-op mode that was exclusive to that version.
@@Mirthful_Midori and people only play on PC, lmao, keep coping.
These images do not look like PS2, but dreamcast graphics. PS2 games are not that bad.
Early PS2 graphics were pretty damn potato
They did figure out how to stop making everyone look like an action figure left too close to a heater pretty quick though
Oh yes it does. I'm playing the Getaway, one of the better looking PS2 games, through a emulator in 4K mind you and the filters capture the look if not better. Giving that SH3/MGS2 vibe.
Agreed, SA1 vibes
PS2 is bad, awful console can't even handle games at low settings.
@@PixyEm
It was an early time of developing games for the system.
Now THIS is a trend im down for
Honestly it's insane how good some PS2 era games actually look. I just finished playing Metal Gear Solid 2 (although it is the HD edition) and it looked great!
True Crime NYC, Scarface, Gun, Black, Killzone, Hitman blod Money, Splinet Cell 3&4, Batman Begins, Ghosthunter, Primal, RE4, GoW 1&2, Silent Hill 3&4, GT4, Tourist Trophy, Burnout Revenge & Dominator, Flatout 1&2, LA Rush are very impressive graphically
Now we need Halldivers on PS2!
Love the videos man, have a good day ❤
Along with the Frutiger Aero, the PS2 AI filter rocks real hard, even nostalgia is reimbursing into a worldwide phenomenon in that form.
Nah ps2 qaulity go hard as hell
cant wait to go get a white suit, slick my heair back, take the image, put it through that filter and finally become 10 year joint man
BRING THAT 5H1T KAZUMA
My parents hated video games so I never to got to experience it the heyday of PS2 and XBOX but there’s still a nostalgic charm to its aesthetic
Im just glad "video game" in media has shifted from new to ps2. Still way out of date but hey, at least cartoon characters arent constantly playing atari/nes games all the time anymore.
Matrix PS2 AI will be in my nightmares.
Now there needs to be a reverse filter that you can put over actual ps2 screenshots
PS2 style definitely had a bit of an uncanny valley effect at times. But when things were stylized within the constraints of the platform, there were some very interesting looking atmospheres and characters. Still well in the era where you had to tread carefully towards realism, but where there was a lot of capability to express things artistically. Kinda similar to stuff like source engine games. They can have a very similar feel.
People where feeling confident enough to do realistic models, but the console couldn't handle it. So it always ended in that mid-way.
@@rompevuevitos222 people and guns and stuff could be far more proportional to the real things rather then blobby shapes.
It's like the DS style like graphics of "A Short Hike" : heavily pixelated but full of charm
Dreamcast/GameCube graphic era
0:57 Me remembering how impressed I was with the opening screen of Pokemon Soul silvers Lugia as a 12 y/o, trying to show it off to my parents XD
I unironically miss the piss filter of the 360 and ps3 era. It gives that generation a unique identity
I wish they had a toggle for it. But graphical settings in consoles where like a taboo back then.
Luckily from the PS3 era and onwards the amount of console exclusives started to decrease, so there's no need to get one anymore.
The picture at the end paved over the ocean.
Much like we celebrated the aesthetics of the 80s back then, now the young folks look back on the early 2000s.
Im so happy were out of the jank days of graphics miss me with that, filter and all XD
"And remember, like and subscribe😃"
😄😄😄😁😑😐
"Or else 😐"
We need more PS2 like games, simply graphics but amazing game.
The N64 aesthetic is my favourite, I honestly cannot nail down exactly why but the blocky nature with low res, with the music, the skybox and aestetic....it was just somthing that was cartoony with a certain grit to it, I wish that was emulated more then anything else.
This video shows Joe Lieberman at 1:59 and he dies the next day 💀
This is awesome. Gives me those DNB/Jungle album arts.
Kinda looks like cruelty squad
The PS2 version of rappers goes so hard fr!🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
I’m not a huge fan of AI (kinda hate it) but I can appreciate the ps2 graphics. In all honesty it’s pretty cool
thats crazy lol i have so much nostalgia from PS2 era and games
That AI filter is beginning to believe
This Ai Prompt Looked Like From The Year 2000
On PS2
Technically it's not a filter, since a filter warps the image, whereas this creates an original image heavily referencing the input image.
Looks like we're finally moving out of the "80s movie" era of AI images.
epic cruelty squad moment
YOOO THATS MY NOSTALGIA RIGHT THERE (POINTING AT THE SCREEN LIKE A SOYJAK)
the nostalgia
The first one is so badass! It has that Y2K aesthetic! I made several ones myself, but they're okay ish.
I have been playing saints row 1 and 2, and this are the vibes i get
Now I want thr entirety of Twin Peaks with this filter
This feels like GTA San Andreas
Its marvin beak here
I Hope Lessons In Meme Culture is going to make a video called “Why Was There a Broken Bridge in Baltimore?”
The last one turned the sea into a highway
0:40 is actually so good. PS1 nice.
We can make a religion outta this
This is the peak of AI
Didn't expect Tyrone!
Do a video of the Frieren cover in different pieces of media
For a second i thought the title and the thumbnail was something else
This is definitely in the same vein as that trend of having AI reimagine properties as dark 80s fantasy movies
Wow, can't believe that finally something even half-good came out of AI and AI bros.
The first few looks like PS1 era pre-rendered game art on game covers and strategy guides from around 1995-1998.
I find it funny how after all these years no one has managed to capture the 6th gen video game aesthetic from around 2001-2004. They all end up looking like the 90s stuff instead.
Just in general old art style just looks good I’ve started making games with 2000s art styles
you are so sick for putting a link in description on how to make the images. u rock
This goes insanely hard. I wish my dad could be here to see this, I think he would like this trend.
