where did u buy the key caps?
Hey i know this is kinda old but i just want to point out that while this is a great way to change the top half of your switch (say you want a different linear or you want a tactile switch) it doesn't change the bottom, meaning that if something goes wrong with your contacts (leaf spring gets weak after a lifetime of use), OR if you want to switch to clicky switches for whatever weird reason(the clickbar on clickies are attached to the bottom half) then you will have to resort to soldering. Also with all the wires being the same color my solution for when changing is to lightly tie the wires to eachother through the plate so i can keep track of which button is which.
Thanks again hurt box with great tutorials like these. I just had my mixbox universal edition were my my buttons are not working so I received another pair of wires to replace it. Can't wait to use this bad boy.
Can you do a video of desoldering the switches? I have an idea for my next setup but I kinda think I'd be better off buying a hit box and getting Gamerfinger buttons
hmm all the wires internally being the same colors looks nice But I feel it might make it alot easier to mess up and swap the wires around
Music makes it hard to focus
Are you trying to silence them? Why not get the rubber silencer rings?
are you still playing fighting games? Wanted to check if the Brook UFB-UP5 Upgrade Kit works for the mixbox
what tool are you using to remove the prongs from the buttons?
The noise levels from the new switches sound the same to me. Isn't it just the case of the mixbox that makes cherry mx switched really loud? I know this from my two arcade sticks. One is mostly plastic and the sanwa buttons are much quieter than in my etokki omni which is a full metal case. Same buttons but the noise difference is crazy.
Ryodakun there was actually a ring noise when hitting the reds. I don't get that with the new switches
Where do you get a replacement wire for the cherry switches? I was trying to Mod the arrow key and one of them broke on me.
You would probably have to ask Mixbox. Where did it break?
The red and black wire broke off from the back of one of the cherry switches.
if the wires still reach you'll have to learn how to solder the wires back on, or take it to someone who knows how to solder and have him fix it. I had one of my wires break on me on the switch and I learned to solder to I could fix it.
Where did you buy the custom keycaps
Instead of disassembling each switch, why not just solder new wires to new switches/unsolder and resolder the old wires to new switches?
Because this was for people who might not have a soldering iron or know/are intimidated by soldering. Of course the easy way is to just solder new keys on, this was just one way.
Hey your channel is awesome!!! I have a question / challenge for you if your up for the task. Hopefully you've heard of an arcade stick called the mixbox. I'm currently an owner of one of these controllers and dont get me wrong I love my fightstick but all things can be improved!!! The components inside are simple enough for someone like yourself with knowledge about the circuit board and soldering and what not. But I wanted to challenge you and see if you could make a tutorial for making the mixbox controller into a wireless version of itself. With either using parts from an existing ps4 contoller or adding the right components to a mixbox circuit board. I've already subscribed to the channel and hopefully we all could benefit from this knowledge you can share. Thanks for your time and talent.
Where might I find that metal part in 15:00 in your hand?Does anybody sell that part online?
That part is actually a screwdriver from the ifixit kit! I highly recommend it for electronics and stick stuff. www.amazon.com/iFixit-IF145-299-4-Driver-Bit-64pc/dp/B0189YWOIO/ref=sr_1_4?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1543482001&sr=1-4&keywords=ifixit
Where did you buy the Mixbox buttons
I don't know where to buy Razer keyswitches, but Cherry MX are available on Amazon.com, just search for "MX keyswitch"
Thanks
they are razer switches cherry switches are better
stepping stones color combination ?????????????????????????????????????
