- Here is how i cut thru the grips to add my bar end mirrors. I cant live without these.

**NOTE: MZS tuning has since changed the design of the mirrors and they now have a piece of aluminum instead of rubber that goes inside the handlebar, i am not sure of the fitment on those type, but several people have told me the ones with the aluminum do not fit. you can still find variations of the mirrors with the rubber insert if you search around though.

It was so satisfying to see him cut the perfect circles
GREAT IDEA, I JUST USED MY POCKET KNIFE, MY GRIPS HAVE NEVER MOVED😎THEY'RE ONE OF MY FAVORITE FEATURES OF MY himiway, THANX FOR ANOTHER COOL VIDEO, HAPPY TRAILS👍🏾🎃😜😷
I see you put the cameraman to work again, lol! Excellent idea with the broomstick! Who da thought.
You should also call that bike Hymie! Hymie was a robot character on the original GET SMART TV show from the 60s! ( What can I say folks, I'm an old BOOMER! LOL. Give me a break)!
Yeah, I've had to re-tighten the mirrors twice so far, and the left one needs a little more attention right now. as Cats Paw said, the Ergon grips are IMO more comfortable and definitely don't move once you've tightened them down. I like the dual-colored look of them, but have to say that the faux leather with the stitching of the Rad (and Himiway) ones do look kinda premium.
That looks awesome
My right slips out on my Himiway. And on the same side and there's a little round plastic piece that came out from under the twist throttle that I will need to glue back in. It doesn't effect the operation or performance of the twist throttle and I think its there to block out moisture, dust, and debris. Easy fix.
The beveled pipe was an elegant solution. I prolly would have just cut out the hole with an x-acto knife.
I've put Ergon grips on mine. They're nice because they have their own screw tighteners and don't move a millimeter. Real grippy and comfortable too
Beveling the pipe...brilliant solution!
Almost all my mountain bikes have bar ends, only my Fat Tire Bike doesn't have them. I just poke a little hole in them with a knife. Then I gently hit it the ends of the bars with a hammer. The handlebars willcutt thru the rest of the rubber or leather pretty cleanly. It's really easy once you to do it a couple times, it becomes second nature.
Thank you, I'll be using your method. Does using a hammer to create the hole ever cause the handlebar grips to loosen up or become uncomfortable in any way?
@@pharaohsmagician8329, nah just do it lightly or better yet use a rubber mallet, you don't want to dent the handlebar. It comes out almost perfect, once you put the caps on it almost looks like it came that way.
@@marcs4091 Thanks man that's exactly the information I needed!
@@pharaohsmagician8329 glad to help, most people just call me names, lol
@@marcs4091 don't worry I can check my CZcams notifications right now and I see people calling me a Cunt and a Bitch in two seperate innocent comments I made CZcams is just crazy, like that lol
I just bought these installing tonight
If you take the grips off and put a few drops of sugar syrup on the bar and on the mirror rubber and let it set for a day or so they will be very snug and almost never move. However you can still get them off if needed.
Just got my RadRover ST-1. I like the mirrors style, brand name?
Will them fit the aventon aventure
First thing we did was purchase thru your affiliate and the install was perfect on our 750 Yukons. Alright the install here on the Himi was awesome, that is some backyard Boss Hackage. Auxillary headlight? Do you still like the one on your Rad Rover conversion?
I find the hand palm gripes move on mine too. Especially the right one, very annoying.
Great technique, thought you were using an old golf shaft.
the himiway handle bar inside diameter is 5/8, might have to do a little retrofitting
To cut out the end rubber just use a hammer and tap around the end. The bar itself will cut the rubber from inside to out, then remove the plug of rubber
the mirrors you linked have aluminum expanders that go inside the bars not rubber. I ordered the ones linked and they do not work at all. to small for inside diameter of the Himiway bars.
Great video, thanks.
Do you think these mirrors will fit the Radrunner?
Thanks
2 years is long enough to wait for an answer
Great idea with the mirrors. Got a quick question for you, looking at the stock freewheel, do you think you would need any special tool beside a removal tool to get the stock freewheel off?
From what I've heard, the tricky part is getting the free wheel tool past the motor plug.
Yeah that's what a bike shop is telling me. They are saying they have to do a hub everhaul in order to replace the freewheel :( on another note, I did install a Radrover front rack on my Himiway.
the grips on these and the Rad are bleather, plastic, not leather FYI. Sometimes just putting some dish soap on the rubber will aid in installing the mirrors.
Yes I have a hemiway cruiser but my electrical system has stopped working.. I was wondering ,do you think I should just replace the controller.do you think that's probably the most likely thing that would have went wrong with it.
It should have a 2 year warranty. I would call himiway
There is no longer a rubber insert and has been replaced with metal insert. The mirrors are high quality except for the screw that attaches into the handlebars. This screw is extremely soft metal and strips out very easily. There is no way of tightening the screw enough so that the mirrors are tight. I'll go to the hardware store and try to replace it with one old better quality. Amazing how good quality these are with the exception of one screw that ruins the mirrors completely.
Thanks You just save me close to $50 bucks!
❤❤❤I still need help.
Interesting, but I think you should tackle a custom AWD setup next. Two batteries and two motors on a toggle switch: front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, all wheel drive!
That seems way too complicated
Are you supplying the materials hahaha? Actually that sounds like a pricy "dream build" Monarch, might as well go belt drive too, right.
Actually folks, im an old pro and ive just ordered the second kit from the company that makes just such a bike!
@@CitizenCycle925 Nope...check out the link I posted. They sell all the parts , instructions and videos. I discovered them while looking for a second battery to fit my VOLTBIKE. I just ordered a front hub motor ( which I'll lace myself) and the switch, controller and toggle. Free shipping sold me!
@@brianm.armstrong70 I missed the link? We have Volt 750 Yukons, really interested in what you have going on. After unlimiting the limiter I can peddle out in 7th 25.5 mph after a fresh charge, no lights on. I weigh 175 lbs, on the flats in no wind. I want to hit the upper 30's and "kiss" 40 mph. Is this possible?
Super curious, as Rad grip has dual stitch. Get with is on how long grip lasts. Awesome bro.
Since everyone who has bought these are your link, perhaps you should take it down, since they say the don't fit.
Bought the mirrors and they did not fit. Would not go into the handlebars. I rechecked the video and the mirrors the presenter had were plastic or rubber on the outside. He shaved them and then they fit. Mine came with aluminum on the outside. No shaving. The mirrors are now in the garbage.
Check out eunorau-ebike.com They have the dual motor setup and gear you'll need. Not nearly as expensive as you'd think.
I hope you’re paying the camera man a percentage of the gazillions of $ you collect from CZcams 🤣
Hahaha, when I start collecting gazillions I'll cut him in 🙂
these mirrors dont work on the Himiway Crusier that is not a step through handle bars opening is way to small, the link takes you to ones that have a metal insert not rubber
They do work loosen them up first

what a non-relevant comment.
