This video gives a brief overview of the operating procedure for the narrow boats available at bridge boatyard and other important information you will need while on the River Ouse.
At the very start of the video the 'Trainer/Instructor' secures the stern of the boat with what he calls a 'Figure of Eight knot' which it is not. Nor is it a Canalman's Hitch or a Clove Hitch or a Round Turn and Two Half Hitches. It is what old Navy salts called a Snowball Hitch being a Landlubbers attempt at a knot which will eventually unravel and disappear like a snowball when put to the test.
Hi Jane- this is not a vlog, it is part of a hire boat handover instruction for customers. Part of the new government guidelines in allowing boat hire to take place, it is not meant for general public
Have you not watched other narrow boaters' vlogs. Two years of listening to how to do something is plenty. You are just wasting your time. No need to subscribe here.
