Always love when you return to the masks. I love your single pull monoprints, too. Just love the masks so much.

Well there’s the difference between the master and the novice - I would have been delighted with the first pull but the master knows to go forward to another level. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise.

Wow, Fulton. You've taken to the big plate like a duck to water! I love the first print. The marks look like shooting stars, or the movement of planets in the heavens. At first, when I saw you putting pastel colors over the black and mostly primary colors I thought " Uh-Oh..." . But this is so exceptional, and just beautiful. We wait for your videos you know. Thanks so much for sharing with us. ❤

I came late to this video and I am glad that I didn't wait any longer! It was fun to see the stencils again and the off register print brought a few tears to my eyes it was so wonderful to see. I agree about the woodcut feel and the off registration works so well in a wonderful way! THANK YOU!!! 😍🥰💖

Something I found helpful with seeing hidden stencils - shine a flashlight horizontally across the surface of the plate.

Hi Fulton, I feel like I’m in an art class as I watch, hear and grasp concepts. This was beautiful and amazing. Divine intervention, no mistake at all Fulton, outstanding results. Thank you and hope you’re enjoying the weekend. 🙏🏻💫❤️❤️

I loved how the registration didn't match up. For that style with the multi layers and block-style print, that happy accident works and, in my opinion, works so well you should try to recreate it the next time you do that style.

These are great! The first one makes me think of cotton candy for some reason 🤷‍♀️ and has a few 8s.
The second one made me catch my breath when you started to pull, and immediately gave me goosebumps as you turned over the paper.
What a great way to end the weekend!

Great concept, and The dark bits showing through the light paint layer add a lot, as you said, sort of like a woodcut.

I am truly inspired. Thank you for being so willing to give more information than just the sort of raw techniques, but what makes it good art. I have much to aspire to; I just a 5x7 gelli plate a few weeks ago, and am learning how to use it. It's exciting tio find things to print with and what I can do with the paint on the plate. Each pull is like "what will I get this time?" - thanks to you, i feel this joy in experimentation 🩷

I cut the ends off of those plastic tubes when they're almost empty and then use a pallet knife to go in that plastic tube that's been cut open and grab up all that paint along the sides that you can't really squeeze out

I love what you do, you explain very well. However, I have a problem and would like to know how long you let the first layer dry before applying the second. For me, after placing the sheet on the second layer, after the exposure time when I lift the sheet, either it tears or the black remains stuck to the plate... and it's a failure. My paper is 200g. Thank you

Hi Corrine, looks like your plate needs some conditioning with baby oil to cut down on the aggressive stickiness. Also try different times to wait, 5 minutes may be too long for you. You will need to experiment, but use less expensive papers like card stock. Please watch czcams.com/video/Y6achw3Num0/video.html

@@fultonsim2165Fulton, that's interesting, I have purchased the Richeson printing paper in a smaller size and it doesn't seem to be the same paper, are the sheets you're using sold by the sheet? Mine was in a package of 25 or 50 sheets as I recall. The larger sheets seem heavier and have a slight sheen (or is that the camera, my eyes, or what?) Great fun to watch your process!!

@@fultonsim2165 I hope you didn't take offense to my comment about your print as a Happy Accident, rereading it makes me wonder if that was not the thing to say about the fact that you put the paper the opposite direction on the 2nd pull. I love how that turned out!!

czcams.com/video/pVScpxf5wu0/video.html note: not too impressed by this, I prefer to use the gelli plate to print on paper, and possibly assemble a collage on a canvas panel instead.
