- Following up on our last video we went back in to Kane Creek the following day after getting new plugs and wires onto Trailmater to fix the running issue. We went in from the top and took the guys back in to the machine. After welding the control arm back together they turned around and headed back down the trail, while we continued up it the way we came in. Then we had another Polaris Ranger have a balljoint and control arm break on Moab Rim Trail. After spending most of the afternoon carrying parts up the hill and trying to fix it themselves, they gave up and called us to get it down for them. We went in and loaded it up on the trailer and brought it down. We took it to their condo parking lot so they could have a nice flat area to repair it once getting the right parts ordered in. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

I don't know what's more impressive...Rory driving over these obstacles or Mike walking backward over the same obstacles while filming Rory. 😄
Honestly was the first thing that came to mind not like he walks that path prior and he can film while maintaining excellent mobility he'll of a videographer
Mike, is really an asset!
There was a anecdote similar to this. Fred Astaire was known for his dancing, but Ginger Rogers could do the same moves backwards and in heels!
Y'all are amazing. You make crawlng these rocks look as easy as a little ol lady driving to church.
That scenery is amazing. I miss it. Those red rocks change color constantly depending on the light, and the shapes are incredible.
Trail Mater purrs like a saber tooth tiger kitten. Sounds amazing and strong. Most cars today sound so wimpy. Trail Mater makes my heart happy to hear.
Did you find the golf course? You guys are so funny. My favorite channel by far.
U mean Mike walking backwards and don't get run over?😂
This is the best recovery channel on YT, hands down. No annoying sponsors, just honest and awesome off-road content. Good stuff, thanks guys. Cheers from West Jordan
I second that !
Exactly this ...... got fed up of casey trying to sell me ebikes and fridges tho he wreckons he won't be bought and dosent listen to his viewers yet without all us viewers they wouldn't be making any money ...... keep doing what your doing Rory!!!!
I also concur.
True. That said, we shouldn't be upset if they do get sponsors down the road that require an ad-read. If it helps them keep putting out content, I can deal with it. One can simply fast forward those sections.
@@ashleywright1991 yer a whiner. Casey is plenty entertaining with his reviews and all you are contributing is a "watch", and MAYBE a "like" if you know how. Wah wah wah...
Mike: "This is the buggy line."
Rory: Pulls tandem axle trailer up it with dually.
I don’t even like watching other youtubers, they’re all in it for the money and the fame. Rory and his team genuinely love doing what they do, and they enjoy letting us come along with them
I remember many years ago when I was in grade school, the boys would say things like "My brother/father can beat up your brother/father with one hand tied behind his back." Rory really does that but drives up obstacles backwards or tows a trailer with your vehicle on it over an obstacle. Nice work Rory. Thanks for sharing.
Rory is King, thats it. Rinse, repeat if necessary, his crew is great. Loving all the hard work!
I enjoy the recoveries from lots of channels, but trail repairs are best viewed on the Trailmater channel.
I’m always impressed how much of a beating the tires take. Gotta be one of the best tires I’ve ever seen.
This video is armchair offroader approved ! Amazing jobs guys, thanks!
“It’s basically the strongest knot known to man” LOL! Man Rory cracks me up! This crew would be such a blast to work with!
Well done as always guys. I find it so impressive that Rory does all that with a manual transmission. So much more finesse required to be that smooth behind the wheel. Thanks for all the great entertainment!
4:05 Can’t believe how flimsily they build these ‘specialized’ offroad vehicles, side by sides and the like, they’re all made of thin chocolate, destined to break at the first sign of stress.
Incredible 😢
Shawn’s laugh is infectious, love it 🤣
Greetings from Romania❤️🇷🇴
I agree. The chocolate rabbit on Easter was a disappointment as well. Hollow....................
Sadly I must agree with you . to me so many Off Road Vechles, are Off Road in name only .
How on earth do they get them so far in? They are made for a Golf course and little else.😮
Most of those side by sides aren't built for rock crawling. They're built built for farmer or forest trails, not banging through rocks.
Even those rigs purpose modified for the rocks break.
Side by sides are built adequately for a "specific" purpose, of which, rock crawling isn't one of them. They "break" because of the "idiots" that drive them into places they were never intended to traverse.
Their stupidity is to Rory's financial advantage. 😊
There isn't anything Rory and his Team can't do. The right equipment, the right plan and execution. Friggin love this channel. You know everything is done with Safety at the forefront. Nice job guys.
If there was a " world's most functional and capable off/on road rig" trail mater would be the only one in the class!!!
“Golf course” is the most shade Rory’s thrown this week
The last 30 seconds of your videos are awesome!!! Great recoveries and skill!!
Ya have to watch the "Out Takes!" Some of the funniest stuff is tacked on the last few moments of the video, almost always. 🤣
I was waiting for a camera to fall, like from the trailer and be left behind.
Hello Rory , Mike and Shawn! Awesome repair and recovery! Guy guys can make the impossible , possible! Thanks for taking us along! 👍
I have said it before and I will say it again. Rory you have a great team. If you guys aren’t fixing someone’s rig you are getting them out of a sticky situation. Making it look easy. Keep the videos coming.
19:30 You're a braver man than I Mike.
Temporary trail repair is stronger than the original factory weld. Looks like someone needs to put Rory
in charge of their welding department back at the factory. --- Thanks for the impossible recoveries. ---
One of these days we're going to hear Rory say: "Hey Mike, get near the edge of that rock, for a nice wide shot. Farther, farther... Mike, Mike; where'd you go Mike?" Then we'll see Mike claw his way back up over the top of the rock.
It's amazing to me that he takes that dually where even the devil shouldn't go. And it's effortless.
Shawn's laughing is as infectious as the laughing of children, i cant help but start laughing too ! 😅
Watching Trail mater crawl is like watching an animal feeling it's way through rough terrain. stretching its legs to feel the next little ledge. Awesome!!
I cannot believe how, with the terrain you guys traverse, that you can keep a clutch in Trail Mater. It defies logic. I’d like to see an episode dedicated to the setup, and how you keep it alive. Awesome guys!
Good question ... however if you can master the handbrake it's easy. Perhaps one of his wrench levers is a handbrake ... hence unnecessary dig technique.
Go back in some of the older videos Rory explains about the truck & keeping up with the servicing or repairing it.
Double tcase helps a lot with that, you don't have to ride the clutch even going super slow with that kinda setup.
There's a video a while back where Rory goes over the whole truck and how all of it works and how they maintain it. If I remember right he said he puts a clutch in it every year, just to be sure it never fails. The reason he doesn't burn up clutches is he keeps the revs really low. It does have a handbrake, when Rory does front digs he pulls that lever to lock the rear so the front pivots around.
@rushthezeppelin what double tcase? Trailmater is a single case 205.
Always amazed how Roy's trail mater rolls over the rocks love the idea of duleys rear tires .
Classic Rory, saying how hard it is and making it look easy.
Just when one thinks he's seen Rory at his best, he pulls off another hair raising rescue while making it look easy. And through it all, Mike is taking those great shots that make you wonder just how bad it really was when Rory says "It doesn't look like it but that was a hairy trail". Whew!
I grew up pulling farm equipment out of Iowa mud. Constantly amazed by what you guys do. Thanks again for taking this old flatlander along.
Mike's camera angles are great. Ya don't always get to see what the tires and squeaky suspension and all those underside bits are doing like we do in your videos. 👍
Man technical and difficult, but Rory's crew make it look like a cakewalk. Whooped them again huh Josey,I mean Rory.
Always super impressive 😮 driving on another level is just routine for Rory, Shawn & Mike..
Your production style is audio-awesomeness... To your fan base, it's always a sensory experience. 🏁🍻🎵🤹♂️
Always a great time with Rory,Shawn and Mike. When I get the notification I drop everything and watch til it’s over. Love you guys.
God bless and be safe. ❤️🙏🙏👍👍🌟🌟🏆🏆❤️
I always feel like I’m out there with them on these recoveries
There's no need to fear Trail Mater is here. Get er done.
👏🏽👏🏽🤙🏾🤟🏽👍🏽✌🏽🤘🏾🙋🏽♂️😊😎.
I have nothing more to add that hasn't been written already and that new boulder was awesome to get how it got there. Thanks Guys
I get that Rory gets comments about literally every video about how much his skill is impressive, but him knowing absolutely immediately at the bump that his right front hub wasn't locked in was the kind of thing that makes me just go, "Goddamn."
It's delightful to see green shoots, grass coming up all over the desert 'flooded' area. Thank you for keep showing the area to us viewers, who cannot come over there to have a look.
I think height adds to it for some people as well. Long Canyon, Gemini Bridges, and Mineral Bottom are all easy trails, but the pucker factor for some when they're driving right next to the edge of a 400 - 800 foot drop off is probably a little overwhelming. The first time we did Long Canyon, we drove it from Pucker Pass to Potash Road. So, when we got to the long, left curve leading into the first switchback (about 600 feet down), my Ex was closest to the edge. I looked over and she was holding on to the dash for dear life and had tears streaming down her face. Uh-oh! 🤣
Rory is amazing in how careful and precise he was able to negotiate the trail with the truck and trailer loaded.
Nice job Rory and Mike . You got em out and that's what it's all about. What a masterful driver.
Rory and Mater makes it look like smooth sailing over a rockey road.Neat.
That's funny "if you can't tie a knot TIE A LOT.
Also good phrase to live by when transporting almost anything.
Rory: you missed the opportunity to flex TM on that new boulder that decided cliff hanging was not for it any more!! You are all so lucky: in New Zealand the authorities would close the trail!! Love your work :)
I find that I'm holding my breath so many times! But I'm so in awe of what you guys can do. Thanks.
Trail Mater has one strong(replace slang word😁) behind clutch. I haven't seen or heard one slip in all of your recoveries. Well built Rory well built. No wonder they call y'all the beast of difficult recoveries. Your team is top notch
Shawn has an infectious (or is it infected!!) laugh. Always pleasurable to watch the TrailMater gang.👌
I watched you on that trail with Matt, Colt, Hollie, Rudy, and others, it was sketchy enough then. But to see you go up and down it with the trailer was insane. Your driving skills are off the hook. Thanks for all the amazing scenery shots as well, that truly is God's Country out there, and we are so privileged to go along with your for the ride. Thank you.
Well done. Rory, again thank you for not putting music in your videos.
Im still amazed at the places that trail mater can get in and out of.
…..with a trailer and UTV on board……😂
Rory has a huge amount of my respect but I’m not sure people realize the skill he uses in driving a stick shift. It might be an interesting shot of what he’s driving going over while having an inset showing his footwork. He drives like he has 3 feet.
Nice to see this channel growing. Couple years. 1 Mill
2:23 - ouuuch for Trailmater. Fantastic recoveries - thanks for sharing !!
dear trailmater, your videos need to be longer !! some people can't get enough !!
I'm 53 years old, and every time I walk, my knees sound like trailmater, squeaky joints 😅😂
Rory, watching Trail Mater climb over the obstacles make me think that Mater has mountain goats in it ancestry.
Trail mater! Recovery vehicle /anvil/vice/welder! It just does it ALL
The 2nd recovery is why TM is the GOAT.
Hair raising trail but Rory makes it look easy! 😎
Dang, dammit, that was one crazy recovery. RORY and crew is awesome at what they do. What a God given gift he has controlling that equipment. Just totally unreal. My jaw was was to the floor watching that last part. The other recovery channels don't even compare to Rory the Irish man super recovery hero channel. Hahahehe keep up the great work. 👍
Man Shawn drivin that JK like a pro!!! 👍👍
You should have found a coyote costume and put it where the rock landed:)
I think you can make some sweet music with the suspension squeak. LOL Thanks for another great video.
Oh, it looks hairy alright, from this vantage point. Your team and equipment is just a towing legend is all. 👍
Crichey Rorey, that was an edge of your seat recovery. Impressive skills and calmness 👌 Fab video recording Mike 👍
The hill at 9:30 was handled so well, consistent motion over loose boulders and sand show the skill of building and keeping the right amount of momentum. Thanks for capturing it so well
That rock drop would have been scary to witness coming down.
13:00 “this is the buggy line”😮
I hit the like button before the video even started.
Wow, those SxSs are well built lol
Gah! So many lube points screaming! LOL. Ps the route should be called Fugglies!
So crazy to watch you come down Moab Rim with all of that!!!!! I'm scared in a Land Cruiser!!!
As long as I've been watching Rory on You Tube I have never seen any body Drive the trails that Rory Drives and makes it look as easy as he does he is Amazing and he has a good Team it's like he is part Mountian Goat no disrespect but he gets the Job Done.
THAT is a HAIRY trail! Couldn't say it better.
Lovely : Z turn, Mike: "new line?", Rory: " no idea what you're talking about...", Mike " I do, buggy line". With trailer 😎
That Moab Rim is no joke even for hiking!
Best in the west !! Great camera work as always too ! I like it when TrlMtr gets a little mad going thru VW sized boulders 😂
Still the King of off-road recovery!
that's impressive af... i dont care what anyone says. Rpry is legit one of the best drivers on YT
Rory... you are the "Maestro of Moab". You heard it here first!
Incredibly rugged trails you travel Rory, and the great photography really shows just how challenging they are! Poor tires, they do take a beating, and the old trail mater groans and creaks and complains but easy does it and keeps on going. Grreat driving!
First one.............
Better than new !
💯
Rory I always enjoy your videos and I give Mike credit walking backwards over the obstacles filming you take talent to do it safely and not get hurt since some obstacles are sketchy. You guys make it look easy but I know that comes from years of experience.
When Rory goes silent you know shit just got real!
That boulder in the middle of the trail is crazy, imagine being anywhere near that when it fell! Watching the side by side recovery made me think 'When your sxs gets to see more rock crawling on a trailer than it ever will on it's own wheels' Lol
We have HIKED the Moab Rim Trail a few times. Can't fathom driving a vehicle of any kind up it. It is definitely a gnarly trail, any way you slice it. Truly amazing watching Rory take the 'Mater down it with a trailer😯. Thanks! We'll keep watching!
Chitty, chitty, bang, bang
No
Rattle, Klang, bBang
🦻 🤣
Love the videos ! Always great to see the whole crew and of course the beautiful landscape. Keep up the great work. Keeping the place clean and helping people out of bad siuations.
I am ALWAYS amazed at the skill level required to bring Trail Mater and a loaded trailer down off these crazy places! This recovery had me gritting my teeth a couple times!
My favorite part is how Rory makes a solid living towing broken golf carts, I mean sxs, out of Moab
Your Poor Truck sure takes a Beating ! No ! No ! That Trail Looked Nasty for much of the Last recovery ! Thanks for sharing !
Yeah that's a tough trail ,and towing a loaded trailer wow Trail Mater All The Way Man
Rory, It's always fun in a crazy way watching you do it, but I would just say "uh, no!" 😂😂😂
Those slow motion shots really show how much torque and stress the suspension is under,
AND YET, people bring stock "4X4"s" out these trails and guess what happens: Job Security for Rory and Team! !! !!!
TrailMater is The premier Star of the show but without Rory, Shawn & Mike where would the show be but what a Great show it is with everyone doing an amazing part.
Camera on the trailer is an excellent view. Great stuff as usual. G'day from Australia. :)
Mike I do have to say that you definitely get some really nice shots with the camera for sure!!! You definitely make it look easy to do but I’m sure you have picked up on things over all the time of getting to film!!!
It always amazes me how you can drive Trailmater on the road over there in Utah. The vehicle compliance laws must be so slack. It would never get registered in any state of Australia, & if it was seen by the cops on any road, major or minor, it would get defected to hell & back. But I love it!
Freedom is beautiful
Awesome job fixing the first Polaris and what a great tow job off the trail. You guys rock!
You guys make it look it easy because that hill is no joke
Don't know how to tie a knot, tie a lot!!🤣 Moab rim is no joke, and you are doing it in a dually wrecker with a sxs on a trailer!!! Rory is the man!!
