I just turned 40, I have a ridiculous coin collection. I have been reading articles, threads and watching lots of videos trying to glean as much info as I could during Covid. I would be grateful for any tips or advice ! Thank you and love love love the info you put out !
Jaclyn, best advice I can give is search through Spegtacular’s videos on the different topics you have question on and you should be able to get all of the information you need 😊
@@mrsspegtacular6484 thank you!
I was just looking for a appraiser yesterday, and got your video today, clearly can see that you are honest!!
Great info and love how detailed you are in your vids! Great appraisal 👍😁👍
Your patience is remarkable. I know just looking through my coins it takes a lot of time. It's nice to listen to the enthusiasm in your voice. And you do seem to be knowledge.
I'm very glad you have this program helping us appraise our coins. I also hope you can find us a buyer too. More power to your program.
The charm is actually made from a austrian,1 schilling coin (1959-2001)
It has not any good value as a coin but it is a beautiful jewellery
I have an Australian half dollar piece that has Charles & Diana on it! ❤️💕❤️💕 1981 😎
It's the edelweiss flower
Great knowledge of rare, valuable Coins impressive Collection thank you sir have a nice work day
Thanks so much for this. I've come into something similar + . Trying to figure it all out. Was actually able to look at my stuff while watching your journey through this collection. Again thanks for your time.
Came here to learn about coins.... left with starfish is a sea star
Enjoyed watching this. Thanks for sharing SpegTacular!
Thanks for watching, Silver Streak!
The Australian 5cent has an echidna on it. The platypus is on the 20cent.
Correct
Yup 👍
I have 5 error and it was 2000 the date
20 cent the date 2002
Back in 1978 I would buy two rolls of half dollars every payday, was somewhat aware of silver, but the reason was to put money aside & not spend it. I went back to school & had to quit working for awhile so I did spend through my box of 50 cent pieces. Lessons learned.
Great video Spegs!!! If Lynn has a grandson (or granddaughter) that might be a good gift.
Lynne's retirement dreams crushed.
I have many coins and have been looking them up individually cuz I am strapped for cash big time and was taking them in tomorrow. I was checking the grading and other stuff I didn't know about when finding the value. So much easier the steps you did. Your information cut my look up time more than half. Yep. Let's do another. Video very informative. TKx
How do I go about. Recieving a guide book too find out how to get a coin grading book to find out how much the coin s are worth.
Please get back to me please thank you very much for your help you given me 😆
I have lots of old coins to sell/One penny/1916/17/18/19/Us domes from SA Country
Just think of how many people that have little collections like this laying around that aren't really collectors. It's a very common thing I believe.
A small little treasure so to speak 🤔
my brother is one and he came back with some Canadian silver, pre WW1 German silver thinking nothing of it he just like world coins but he had some real value there.
I think the fun is going through it all. I love going through old collections.
You do well. So spot on, on the value as of date. Some see a fortune but you told the truth. It takes a lot to find a buyer.
Well not really!
I subscribed to your presentations because each time I watch 1 I like the level of chill you have as well as thorough commentary .
Thanks for watching and subscribing, DeLoss Lance!
I just recently started taking an interest in coins and I have been binge watching as many videos as possible. This was definitely one of the most informative and interesting videos I have seen. I have watched a few of your other videos but this one earned my Subscription.
Welcome aboard! Thanks for giving it a chance.
Myself as well and so much to learn but one things forsure its fun!

The timing of this video could not be more perfect. I just purchased a private collection and needed to know what to look for. Thanks

That old school Tupperware container is worth some money as well. They don't make Tupperware like that anymore.
Very true, couldn’t agree more!
Sir good morning I have a Lincoln coin 1957 how to sell

Where can I get rid of a 1967 quarter and a 1970 quarter what they worth and how much can I get@@pollingade578
Always neat to see. Thanks for the video.
Thanks- great video- Timing- Today my cousins plan to hand me a few boxes of their Mom's coin collection to sell for the estate. Wish me luck-
Love watching videos like this one. Always enjoy your videos
Good video and appraisal Speg...that miracle whip jar has to have a bit of value! Have a wonderful weekend stay safe and stack on!
at least 59 cents.
Surprisingly how you took the time to go through what anyone would have immediately seen as $250 tops. IDK if your offer price is due to being a friend but it’s pretty cool how fair you were and clearly giving anyone watching this a great lesson on many variables that why a vendor would just speed through and throw out like I said $250. Definitely going to subscribe. Integrity is everything in business!! Too bad you’re not local..
I think you did a good job with the value of that collection. The Red Book is a great source of information and I’m always amazed by how many people in our stacking community don’t own one.
Cool old coins, funny just found a 41 nickel, ike the one you just showed, mine has a staple in the head, enjoyed watching this video
More stuff like this would be great!
The X serial number on one of the bills might be a keeper. Very good video.
Some of those Canadian coins 1941 ect. We're in pretty good condition
Check that $2.00 bill again. I believe for the 1976 series, on the back is an engraving of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence from a portrait in the US Capitol Building.
It was a one year only issue so is not just any old $2.00 bill.
I have one first day of issue 13 cent stamped and canceled by the post office mint condition. Anyone know a value?
My coin collection is gigantic... I am overwhelmed by it constantly. I have started grading coins and it is very very hard to choose the first ones to grade. I am sending in my toned uncirculated 1909 vdb. Hope it grades high enough and that should pay to grade my whole collection. Nice of you to appraise his collection.
REALY INTERESTING CONCEPT S OF PRESENTATION & EXPLAINing AS U GO THROUGH PROCESS & VERY INFORMATIVE 👏
Oh man...This had me feelin discouraged about my collection lol xD this was a pretty cool one
Nice of you to help out your friend.
It's very usefull specially to those people like me that don't have an idea how or where to sell old coins.
I have been collecting coins since 1974, yes, it is quite large lol. coin collecting is a huge and expensive addiction but at least, one gets to at least make, and or break even, you truly do not lose.
the old whip jar has value.
Fair evaluation. Good job. Labor of love
I have quite a large collection of valuable pieces ... I wish you lived in our area!
Are your of your valuable pieces for sale?
I was just thinking the same...
You made this a great educational video. Thanks
Thanks for watching, B L C Scott!
Always fun seeing what coins people hoarded.
The first silver certificate you showed, although in rough shape has a trinary serial number which some people collect. Not much extra value in that condition but fun to see.
GD
That was a great video! Thanks!
Thanks for watching, SaMiFarr!
Great video because very thorough and realistic!
Thanks for watching, Dave!
15:16 I think that's Austrian 1 Schilling coin And it has been made into a necklace.
Coin production years 1959-2001 Material Aluminum-Bronze
Informative. Thanks!
Good job Speg 🤠
New Sub!!! I'm newer to inherited tons of coins and bills sold a couple on ebay I'm just not great at pricing. Books of the error coins are my favorite as well as the big old bills..hope to learn things. Thank you for your time.
Would you share your eBay if your still selling them
Very helpful, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Off and on looking at every bit of change , you can find plenty of copper pennies ( pre 1982 or a few of that run) and a rare wheat cent. Few years ago in change a wheat cent happened. I could not believe it, ok it's a 1958 or 1951 - D it was a 1909 . What a find in the 2020s
Morning SpegTacular!
I am getting rid of a large coin collection left to us. Learning as I go and have figured out my father in law just liked collecting coins. Nothing of real value except for some silver coins. Made a few trips to the bank because no one in my area is interested in them. Good video and info.
Thanks for watching, Techn’ Moto!
I am looking at the same thing. I have picked up on some good info some just reading comments and replies. I looking to going to the Dallas, Tx. area.
@@davidbell8570 I have been able to sell some stuff on ebay but I have to say- for the price I am selling stuff it is not worth my time and effort. What does not sell continues to go to the bank. With every sale I included a free gift- lol. Have to get rid of this stuff as fast as I can- Ha ha ha ha ha. Still have a ton of stuff like a baseball card and a stamp collection I have not touched.
Close but no cigar , the 1972 australian is the most valuable circulating normal 5 cent coin, very interesting.
Very True.
Great coins my friend
thats a fair value most dealers would have just said $200 for the silver and really looked at it.
I've purchased numerous little collections like that over the years. This was a fun little instructional. Thanks, sir!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I like to watch your videos hope you will have more subscribers and viewers coming thanks for sharing
I had that Tupper container in the 70s and the mayonnaise price I remembered.
Just keeping my silver for now. Informative channel
The 1967 bobcat (centennial) is 50% aswell
In Canada coins were 80% till 1967 - although half way though 1967 the dime and quarts switched to 50%
Then in 1968 the dime and quarter had 50% silver for half the year only
Great information friend. I am both appreciative and glad to have read your comment because I value what I have learned from it. My sincere thanks.
Hi Spectacular,I agree a dealer would pay much less for this material. There are Indian Head nickels struck on one cent blanks that are very valuable, but they are smaller than a nickel and have a different weight. Thanks, interesting to see, Bill
Thanks for the info
We have been going through all ours it's overwhelming.. I got into it for awhile but somethings I just can't seem to learn. I started putting a couple of old bills or coins on ebay about to get it really going. Thi g is I don't know enough pricing is hard for me on mostly everything I have sold.. It would be noceto find a trusted person in my area that I could just pay to help short or ideas or something. Love reading Comments lots of information..
The 41 s Lincoln, the 36 DDO, the 69 no FG, the 70s is nice, I have one with an RPM ... the 55 has a half dozen different DD's to look for other than the obvious one... Tonnes of fun!
The 1968 Canadian quarter they minted some in silver and some in clad. You have to use the magnet to find out.
I had 2 in a roll of Quarters & never knew that until my magnet fell into the pile of quarters and 1 stuck and 1 didn't . Surprisingly the one that had more of a silveri age tone going on was NOT silver but the clean one was . 50%er but still interesting .
Excellent video and crushed the like button!
I enjoy the information tyvm. I have a 1934 and a 1936 Lincoln cents that I just found in my change jar I am wanting to sell them
Thanks for the video......

Answers on Australian coins.5 cents is Echidna ,10 cents is Lyre bird, 20 cents Platypus, 50 cents Emu bird and a Kangaroo.
Hello, very educational video! I know about the 1943 steel penny, but I am trying to find information regarding a silver 1957 wheat cent ( it was struck on a dime planchet) not much information online regarding these type of errors.
Cheers
the austrian coin, the cut out shows the EDELWEISS flower, national flower to the country. thank you for an interesting video.
I believe the flowers on that cut out coin are edelweiss which grows in the mountains in Austria and a few other countries I believe.
Nice collection the wheat pennies can sell for 3 cents each the one's in the flip have some nice color
The Australian 5 cent piece is an Echindna - a marsupial spiny ant eater, not a duck billed platypus, no silver after 1964.
1966 Round 50 cent peice is the last Australian Circulated Coin Produced that contained Ag ... 80%
TC n Stay Safe My Friend

1940 nickle
NOT a platypus. It is an Echidna.
Thanks for your evaluations. Unfortunately, the collection was disappointingly anemic..
SpegTacular.
The animal design on the Australian 5¢ is an Echidna, a type of spiny anteaters. Which is actually a monotremes, that means its an egg laying mammal. They taste very good if U prepare it correctly.
Haha the Cleveland Browns are at least worth a penny
The charm looks like it was made from an Austrian coin but I think the design appears to be edelweiss. A flower that was symbolic to the German mountain rangers in WWII along with other things I’m sure.
YAY SPEGS IS BACK
You know!
Great video. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
I've had people cuss me out because they message me with a common date older coin and they seen one on ebay with someone asking 10k for so think theirs is worth that and when I tell them it's not worth anything they lose it. They get emotional over finding out they have a 10 cent coin instead of 10k coin. And it happens all the time smh
People have to understand that what someone is asking for something vs what someone is getting for something is very different in the selling world.
@@Spegtacular A neighbor wants to sell his silver and tells me, silver is selling for over $30.00 an ounce. I say, right now, silver is worth $22.50. Just because he sees a in a book or advertisement $30.00, right away he thinks his silver is worth that much. I say $22.50 is the price of silver right now. It cost money to melt and separate the silver so if he tries to sell it for $30.00 he will get something below $22.50.
@@harrysurtees8710 you're talkin retail and wholesale/spot price. Those are two different things. 3 to $5 over spot price is fair retail price for bullion/generic. Depending on what it is it could be more.
Good message 👌
Thanks for reminding me of how worthless my coin collection is. As an investment that is. Still it was fun to collect. I would rather give mine away to kids somewhere. Silver value is intrinsic, but who has the time to figure out the silver value? Scarcity condition, and variety are probably more important than silver or metal values. Silver just crashed this week, so I wont be taking my silver coins up to the coin dealer who pays 50% of the melt value. Thanks for the video. Nice explanation of what dealers really do pay. There's always the CoinStar machine! Be sure to check the reject bin for foreign coins and sometimes dollars and halfs. I found 3 silver halfs in one the other day: 2 1964 Kennedy, and one 1962 Franklin. I kid you not. The two kids behind me in line wanted to see them. I gave them each one.
I have about 6 1964 and earlier!
Cool little collection, too bad you didn’t find anything super valuable, but I think the owner should be please with the silver value alone…
I hope so too
I have many coin and wish to show them a picture
Certain 1979 Susan B Anthony dollars can be worth around 100 there is a wide and narrow rim variety
I have 1967 coin were I sell it
Is the Austrian charm Eidlevise? Sorry about the spelling.
Wow that's great
You should film Coin Guy critiquing your appraisal!
Maybe I should film me critiquing appraisals that he does?
;)
honestly, old wheat pennies even if they aren't one of the super rare ones or whatever, they are worth at least 2c because of the copper. And even more than that a lot of the old wheat pennies from 1909-1940 are worth 15-25c just bc they are old (assuming they are in decent condition). So, imo most of the wheat pennies (in decent condition) are actually worth a lot considering they are 1c face value.
I have a lot of very oldest coins, and one coin which is Fourteen Hundred and Fifty years old.
Are your old coins for sale? If they are in good condition, I can buy them.

This is awesome. By the way if that 70 quarter is a Philadelphia mint might be wort getting graded. In grades 67+ they command 4 figure digits and registry owners are always on the prowl
The Red Book says, 1970-P quarter, 136,420,000 minted and ms 65= $5.00. I don't see a Philadelphia mint 1970 half dollar, just D & S.
