- A younger me, experienced a flight in a glider, called a Høgslund / Traugott-Olsen 2G "OY-AVX". The design is from 1946 and is made of wood and canvas, with a span of 12,5 meters, and has a L/D of 13 at 64 km/h. The stall and max. airspeed is between 48-125 km/h
History of this particular model (from DaSK):
-"The two-seater primary was constructed by Høgslund and Traugott-Olsen for homebuilding. This plane was built by Odense Svæveflyveklub in 1950 and was registrated June 17th 1950 as OY-121. Odense Svæveflyveklub used the glider as a elementary training glider untill September 22th. 1955, when Vejle Svæveflyveklub bought the plane. June 17th. 1957 it was reregistrated as OY-AVX. April 22th. In 1959 it was handed over to the former Holstebro-Struer Svæveflyveklub (now Holstebro Svæveflyveklub), and until appr. 1965 it was used very much. The C/A was deposited the 17th. March. The 27th. June 1979 it was deleted from the Regisrer. The local Club handed over the glider to Robert Nielsen, Borbjerg. He stored the glider for many years. He again handed the glider over to DaSK, and it is now the most popular glider in all Rallies."

It’s the kind of plane where you really do fasten your seatbelts.
Yes, you do... can confirm 😁😁
I belive, that Glider is the best antidepressant of all time!! :)
Супер
Yes !! for example DG300, Ls4, Ventus c ,Bergfalke4 , Discus , ASK21,..........XD
Ohne Ohren würdest du im Kreis lächeln... Nice experience! Without ears you would smile in a circle!
So simple, but it flies so well ! Well done !
I would love to have a flight in one of those gliders. . Have flown in a Slingsby Venture and a Slingsby T21.
AWESOME.
You were probably in the Air Cadets too? Any Chipmunk flights?
@@TheCrabbers yep, 208 (North Leeds) sqn. four Chipmunk flights, . Including one that had an engine failure. Nothing catastrophic (failed oil pump) and we were still in the circuit at Binbrook so landed normally. The others were Finningley, Brawdy and Kinloss. Now training up to be an ATC Civvie instructor..
Had quite a few training flights after the Cadets in various Cessnas and a couple of Pipers.
You an ex ATC too?
@@crazybrit-nasafan 2279 Sqn Wrexham did my flying at Sealand Chester. 😃
the wind be pushing the guys chin all back
I’m thinking shorts would be a bad idea if bees could fly that high.
Pure flying!
Wow!! Looks like so much fun. Much braver than I am.
Great!
wearing goggles would make life much easier !
Instruments for the front seat! The one I flew didn't have that.
Fedt fedt!
I would totally do that. Solo from the back seat? Does that winch tow disconnect automatically?
Scary
Instruction manual ain't clear, they didn't mention to bring safety glasses
That landing is surprisingly soft.
Whoa!!!
Nice!!!!!
Nice, what open glider is this?
Looks like a modern sg-38
What kind of speed would they have crossing the numbers? It looks fast like they dont use flaps.
It is a Danish 2G. Nine were built from 1946 to 1958
Det er en vildt fed oplevelse :D
👍👍👍
Nej dag van dear grot?
Does anyone know what pulled them up? What was the tow device?
I'm curious as well
Look up winch launching. Essentially, the glider has a hook just in front of the balance point fore and aft on the glider, there is about 2,000 feet of cable that gets pulled in on a big reel powered by a gas engine. The other end of the cable is attached to the glider and the glider "kites" up the line as it is pulled in. When he gets to the top he pulls the release and the line falls away. It works well and is quieter and cheaper than operating a towplane.
czcams.com/video/o2PMANmrF04/video.html shows how it is normally done. The winch part starts at 2:35
Cool shit, Og intet hate.
this kid can't keep his teeth out of the jetstream
Bucky Beavers ..haha
With that nose you look left and the glider turns left. Same for the right
I like how you state it is the same for right, imagine if I had the most crooked nose, then we would just have spun as soon as we were flying ;)
Jeg kunne godt tænke mig en tur.
Terrifying..
Hehe :D tak
Why arent you wearing goggles
aerodynamics face... nice nose
Guille Fronteras hahahahahaha
Like
Shouldn't he have had his hands on the control stick? I see he's pulled up by a winch. How is it released? What happens if it is not released? Death?
Observe. Pilot is in rear seat. The glider release mechanism operation can be easily researched on the internet. Use your initiative.
Kyle Gordon Knife is a great tool.
close your mouth bro but cool video
why u crying, why u alway crying xD
big teeth
dry mouth
So...NO ONE gave this dweeb the heads up about needing goggles in an open-cockpit aircraft?? And his teeth alone doubled the profile drag of this aircraft...
