This is the first time I've heard these gals play regular swing jazz and it's no surprise to me that they've got a wonderful feel for it. Senri on he trading 4's stuff was stellar and the way she introduced the tempo change was tasty. She's become one of my favorite drummers. Bravo.

Juna, you have come so far since we last spoke. I'm proud of you and your developments during the last few years. I hope to come see you and The Jazz Avengers in Japan soon because this is something special. I'm really enjoying the undercarriage of the productions. You and Senri have an amazing connection. ❤️
There's so many sides to the amazing Jazz Avengers. Great to hear WaKaNa playing "Confirmation" and "Oleo" (on soprano!) - Juna playing upright bass - Chizuru's straight ahead bebop lines and comping - Marie getting bluesy - Senri soloing "melodically" on the blues - and a couple well known friends show up to sit in at the end. I love JA's high energy performances with all their stage presence and matching suits as much as anyone, but to me, these casual gigs are just as much fun.
