FYI the reason why the 3D models are taking so long is because SV completely reworked the way stances work in game. Pretty much, pokemon are not in their “battle stances” in the menu, and only do it in an actual battle. Because this is unreliable, given the way the camera and shading works in Gen 9, and how the base engine is so much different then Gens 6-8, the only way for Showdown to have the 3D models is to make them from scratch
35:50 the big reason Iron Moth has been really strong throughout the mega is because it's coverage and ability to become a really strong win con. Speed Booster with Fiery Dance is scary, but doesn't do everything. Dazzling Gleam and Energy Ball are also very common, and Tera Blast ground gets used every now and then to deal with Heatran. The larger playerbase hasn't experimented much with some other options like U-Turn or T Spikes (momentum and forced progress through poisoning every grounded non-poison type), but most of that is due to 4MSS to be fair

I was impressed by Empo making the top cut of the tournament essentially by spamming the same team in SV tours to great success. It had something like Dragon Dance Kyurem with only special attacks, which is the kind of funky building I like (note: Kyurem does indeed get Scale Shot in gen 9)
@@ninthfloortbf it isn't that new of a idea. Latios sometimes (very rarely) ran dd with only special attacks for the speed boost before it got Agility. It is notably better on kyurem because physical kyurem is actually a set.

the interesting thing about Iron Moth is how surprisingly flexible it is. you have whatever coverage you need (energy ball, dgleam, discharge, bug buzz, flash cannon for glimmora without having to tera, meteor beam, or even air slash) (technically doesn't hit gliscor but ofc there's overheat) and with the right set you can beat blissey with morning sun or theoretically amnesia clodsire with acid spray and tera. So while it's falling behind in speed tiers and doesn't have access to taunt, it's still one of the faster and most versatile special attackers that does tend to get underestimated ( 35:30 )
It'd probably be more germane for the video you did all about them, but hey you're also talking about switch moves here at about 28 min: Part of what makes pivot moves so strong is that they're useful for getting big damage and escaping danger on fast, frail attackers while also being equally useful at scouting intentions and soaking a hit on slow, bulky mons. I guess you could say entry hazards, status, or other such percent-damage moves are also good *against* super bulky or super swift targets, but IMO that runs into the whole "why would you run Rocks on Mamo" thing - Mamoswine scares things out so you can get Rocks up for free? Have you considered hurting the switch-in instead?
i feel like Vert’s loss was definitely a product of suboptimal sets in gen 7 and in gen 8 the unfortunate magma miss and crit on pult sealed it. they would’ve had more opportunities to doubke into pult and it couldve sealed a KO on any double besides lele and mel. for gen 7, why make the lando eject button when the kyurem isnt Z, the lele isnt specs, and the mag needs to double dance? i also believe the mag should always be leftovers/av on that kinda team, there is not enough speed and wallbreaking for Vert to not afford to pivot into mag more than once. volt switch and u turn is a huge part of lele zam and being forced to stay in and commit so often forced them into tough position from turn one. also, do you know if there was any hazard removal on that team?
not rlly. the set on lele was good, the best even to defeat mag as it drops it to 25%, empo just outplayed by staying in, he outplayed a worse matchup (one vert expected, if you consider all the sets he has brought) which was purposefully made “suboptimal” in order to beat the team empo had been spamming. same applies to gen8, you can’t say the psychic move on weav made the team underwhelming when he fished exactly what he was looking for and still lost

I'm asking because I seriously believe that if you start taking it seriously again it would cement yourself as undoubtedly the greatest of all time
Fuck Off. Making those sprites takes a lot of work and it’s a thankless job people do. It’s also not a ton of people who have time to work on them to begin with.
@@dysr Yeah there's some work that goes into making them into proper sprites that fit the rest of showdown, however purely in terms of getting the in game models that's fairly easy, a friend of mine made a chrome extension that directly uses these and replaces the 2d sprites

No unfortunately they aren’t but you can find the smogon tour replays and create mostly accurate recreations from those if you want to
