The UK wins for sure. Freeze Tag is definitely my favourite here. I like Driver's Dead too, the car driving down a vacant road at night in the cold looks pretty cool. It reminds me of the film poster for Black Cadillac. The Mall, Dream Date, The Perfume, are all worthy covers.

I loved this! The old covers were just so cool and unmatched to what we have today. It’s so funny how different the UK and US ones were to each other!

I would say out of all of YA series of the 1990s Christopher Pike books were the best as it was far more mature than Fear Street or Point Horror, currently collecting them,
The covers were great, Although the teen horror era was relatively short, being popular from the late 80s to the late 1990s, the various series which i read were very entertaining, some Fear Street alot of Point Horror, some Christopher Pike and so on, here in the UK Fear Street was not as popular. and here you sometimes got 3in1 compilations

I've never met anyone else that has read Point Horror books and I get blank looks whenever I mention them to people. I also haven't spotted any in second-hand stores since I was very young. I was starting to think maybe I had the only copies to exist! I still have them all in boxes at my parents house along with all of my original 90s Goosebumps. I can't wait to re-read them all, they give me such nostalgia! I grew up in the UK (where my books still live) but I now live in the US, so I will keep my eyes out for these different designs! I wonder if many of the US copies have the raised titles like the UK ones, they seem more 2D. I do still think the UK versions are miiiiiles better. It's interesting to see that some had different titles altogether. Personally, the big scholastic logo and lack of "point horror" title on the US ones ruins it for me. But I love all these 90s aesthetics! I would love love love to know where you got your t-shirt. New subscriber here!
That's awesome that you have kept hold of all your copies! They definitely seem to be hard to find in second hand shops nowadays. There is definitely something special about the UK covers and the Point Horror logo! So nostalgic. I got the t-shirt from Truffle Shuffle. I'm not sure if they still do them but I know they did a few Point Horror designs at some point. Thank you so much for watching!

This video is great! I like how cohesive the UK covers are and I generally prefer them, but as you said it could be the nostalgia 😄

Loved this video and it's a good idea for future videos where you compare covers of other books such as the difference of say a UK edition of a stephen king novel to the US counterpart and my tastes alined with your on most of these books but as you said they're all great with my fav being the UK edition of The Claw but i prefer the UK edition of Driver's Dead other the US one since it just looks very creepy and reminds me of Christine. (aside from the fact the car isn't red)

Currently, I have Spring Break, Double Date, Halloween Night 1 and 2, Driver's Dead, Wanted, The Witness and much more. I love the way the word Point Horror on the books in UK Edition. I do love a few of those UK covers but my favorite is the one for Freeze Tag...holy smokes that is awesome!! I think here in the US we can't change what's inside the book so we try to make the covers a little more kid friendly. I use to see most of these books for sale at book fairs which was usually at our elementary schools so like 9-10 years old at the oldest.

I did not expect it to be as much of a tossup as it ended up being. It almost went back and forth between my preferred cover. OH I just picked up the US Thirteen didn't even know it was point horror.
I love the different taglines and how close they are. Like for Spring Break, US: SUN,SURF....Murder? vs UK Sun, sea and...slaughter?
OH I found the french edition of The Window (US edition) in a little free library and I grabbed it without knowing exactly what it was.
This was SUCH a great video! I got so into it.
Some of them are definitely tough decisions! From what I remember the anthology is a bit of a mixed bag but there's a great Christopher Pike two-parter in there.
It's funny how some of the taglines are slightly different like that.

This video is a lot of fun! If you enjoyed doing it, I would definitely love to see more cover comparison videos. It doesn't even have to be all Point Horror; other horror books also have variant covers depending on where they were published. I think you're onto something fun and unique here!

I like a good cover face-off video. In defense of the US we do apparently love our writers more than the UK. Big, bold, marquee letters while the UK consigns them to tiny italics.

Great idea to do a comparison video! Loved it. Do a part 2! For me, the US covers win every time, except for Spring Break. The UK Spring Break cover is awesome. I also preferred the UK cover of Help Wanted over the US one. The UK cover for Hide And Seek was downright awful! Sorry, but to be honest, I find the UK covers to be quite bland and generic. I'm in Australia, and we actually got both versions in our bookstores! It was a confusing time.

Interesting that with the UK covers the author's name is much less prominent, and the Point Horror logo is always clear - I suppose they were focused more on the line rather than any specific writer.
Yes, I think it was more about the Point Horror branding since the authors weren't as well known over here. It definitely worked on me anyway because I couldn't get enough of them!
