David Goggins is out here changing lives, inspiring others, giving great advice, and helping people find the best versions of themselves. All while just living his life. Stay Hard, Goggins!
Crazy. During my first year wildland fire fighting, I read his book and used it for motivation. Am learning today that he not only did it but carries a high respect for it. I did it for the same reasons. I said no to doing it this year. Got a call asking again if I was sure. I said fuck it. Let's go. Went to CZcams to look up some fire videos to get moody about it. Found this. It all makes sense. Wow. Even though I'll be the oldest on the fire line...I ain't done either. Not yet. Not today.
Our squad listened to the "Can't hurt me" audiobook in our rig. We had a bit of a freak out towards the end while he spoke about his time in wildfire. To this day I'll whisper to myself "stay hard" while I'm with my girl or on the fire line.🔥🌲 Much love from Oregon.🤙🏽
Anyone who's ever been through a grueling training session or regiment, is all too familiar with the unyielding fatigue, and/or lactic acid burn, side stitch, etc...that only gets worse, the longer you continue. Everything inside you is SCREAMING for you to stop, or slow down! And anyone who has found a way to ignore that torrent of discomfort, and push through that sh!t, is also familiar with the glory and pride of having conquered their mind, on a certain scale. Yet, maybe less than 1% of the world's population has completely taken the reins of their own minds, to the point where their brain goes from screaming "STOP, " to saying "This motherf*cker is not gonna stop, I HAVE to find more." Goggins is one of them. And whoever has experienced that pain and discomfort first-hand, can appreciate what he's done even more, because you can only imagine the level of raw grit that you would need to take it to the level that he has. Of course he advises against training through injuries like he did, but what sort of animal can push himself through kidney failure, and the impact of 260 pounds repeatedly slamming down on fractured foot bones? This is the type of sh!t that courses through the veins of SEALs, Deltas, Raiders, etc... even elite athletes. He learned how incredibly durable, and resilient the human body is, by pushing himself to the brink of destruction, then healing stronger than before. He laid it out there for everyone to see, there's dormant monster inside us all, but it takes supreme control over our own minds to wake it.
Everyone needs to get his audiobook! (And book) the bonus audio material is really well done. It lit a fire in me. I listened and immediately began training for a race. This man has the Life of a mythical being, but that’s not what he wants you to get from it.

I totally agree with you, but you can say that for any kind of challenge or hardship. I was pointing out that its not hard in a sense that physical training is hard and I was wondering if he would take it as a challenge because of that. Its not hard because of the pain (edit: and suffering), but its hard because of the frustration you get when you are facing a problem you don't know exactly how to solve.
Very rarely, but it happens and I don't know what you mean by physically restless, but when it happens, I go for a walk to calm myself down because I get really frustrated at problems like that.
