PLOT:
You know when you feel like you’re outcasted from everyone? I placed this in sort of a behind the scenes inside of Thomas’ mind when the sides are left to their own devices, so this is before Accepting Anxiety. This was when Virgil was pulled back into the dark sides, sort of, by Deceit and the other sides are trying their hardest to get him back.
Finally finished this after working on it for 3 days non stop! Special thanks to Odds for editing this video as well as the last one, (they’re awesome btw)
Also I will be posting a speedpaint soon regarding my plans for future videos, so look out for that! Thank you so much for watching! See you in the next video!

I have a theory but I feel like it has plot holes.oh well
In my eyes: Virgil didn’t feel like he belonged with the others, so he desperately reached out to whoever he could, Deceit/ the dark sides. Patton, Logan and Roman found a lack of anxiety in Thomas and went searching for Virgil. They went looking everywhere, ultimately ending up checking in with the dark sides and Deceit lured them in. Deceit strapped them to chairs to prevent their escape and read Patton since he is at the core of feelings and could probably, to some extent, have some control of the other sides’ emotions. The card that had “sorrowful” written on it not only signified the emotions Patton felt/ would feel (and simultaneously spread it to the others), but also the amount of power Deceit wielded to control the emotions himself. The dark entities with Deceit are the doubts, fears, and basically the negative thoughts that Deceit fed off of to create the negativity in a physical form. The ones that look like Roman, Logan and Patton are just the images that Virgil had of them due to his anxiety.
Virgil was brought back after being held captive by Deceit the whole time. He wasn’t as he once was because now Virgil could only look through blinds that blocked all positivity. Virgil starts to sing Shiny which explained his feelings of outcast. Patton, Logan, and Roman tried to snap Virgil out of the hypnosis. Deceit pinned the blame on the others. In a last attempt to save Virgil, Patton, Logan and Roman yell at Virgil to remember their happy times together which worked, but not fast enough before Virgil was swept away by Deceit into the darkness.
I definitely think there’s plot holes in this and most likely faaaaaar away from TheCatInATux’s actual story, but I just felt like sharing my thoughts. And to finally sum up all of this, great job dude, I was really blown away!!!👍

I’m imagining that the sides wished for all the dark sides to be gone, but Deceit decided to be a lil sneaky snek and was like ‘Oh ok then’ and took Virgil. Thus the line ‘You got what you wanted, but you lost what you had!’

Hypnosis is just a state of intense focus. You can’t be forced to do something that goes against your Morality while under hypnosis which means that not only is Virgil not going against Patton but he still, somewhere deep down, feels resentful towards the others...damn..

Simple answer to numbers 4, we are all mortals on this dreaded earth so there are no Gods on earth (and forgive me if your not religious) only rhe God in heaven. She aslo prefected her talents from years on end hence why she's so good but no one will ever be at a point where they need to stop improving, so she still also needs improvement because it's part of getting better at art.
What I think the story is, is that something happened to Virgil and the other sides went looking for him and found out that deceit had taken him and captured the rest of the sides. And then deceit used his powers to hypnotize Virgil and brought Virgil back over to the darker sides. I also think that Roman was with Virgil based on his reaction to deceit. And the fact Roman look ready to stab deceit with his sword when deceit caressed Virgil’s cheek

The following is the vid in story form. I'm no fan fiction author, so it's probably really bad- but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
(Roman’s POV)
We opened the door to Virgil’s room. Virgil had been in there for way to long- maybe an anxiety attack? Something told me no. That something was Patton, who said he felt something evil ‘lurking in there’. Logan said that it couldn’t be Virgil, even though he was a ‘dark side’. He wasn’t bad anymore. We came to the conclusion that it wasn’t an anxiety attack. Something worse.
We stood nervously outside the room. Logan reached out and opened the door. My hand resting softly but vigilantly on the hilt of my sword- I was prepared for anything-
Deceit stood in the room.
Well, almost anything.
“You’re in my world now,” he said, laughing evilly. The door slammed, and suddenly we were sitting in chairs, shackled down by ink-black snakes with glowing orange eyes. They grew tighter every second. The table we were around had one candle. The flame flickered.
(Patton’s POV)
Deceit lifted a card. It had Virgil, suffering from a really, really bad anxiety attack. Worse than I’d ever seen. “I can read your future,” said Deceit. Wait-future?
Roman stifled a gasp, fighting against the snakes. Logan’s eyes were as wide as dinner plates as he struggled to hide his emotion. Deceit summoned a fireball and approached me, eyes glowing brighter as he gained control. As he walked past the table, the candle’s flame danced slightly, but it kept on glowing.
He reached out and grabbed my face, squeezing my face so hard it hurt. He moved the fire closer-
“Don’t touch him!” yelled Logan, forgetting about being emotionless. Deceit let go, laughing as he eyed Logan mischievously.
He summoned shadows. My heart thundered as I shook in my chair. They took forms of my friends, but evil. They hated me. They thought me worthless. I knew it. They never liked me-
“Don’t! Stop!” yelled Logan. I snapped out of it. They didn’t hate me. At least, I think so…
(Logan’s POV)
Get it under control. What was I thinking? I did exactly what Deceit wanted me to do. I’m so-
The snakes unraveled. “Are you ready?” said Deceit. The candle continued to burn.
We all stood. Deceit’s hands glowed brightly as he lifted a dark shape out of a deep, black, seemingly endless abyss. “Transformation central,” he said.
It was Virgil.
(Roman’s POV)
His eyes were orange, meaning he was overtaken. I felt the tears leak out of my eyes. Suddenly, I felt a small glimmer of hope, as bright as the candle’s flame- I could see the struggle. His jacket was ripped, his arms and neck covered in bruises and cuts. He had an anxiety attack, and Deceit struck when he was weak. Virgil had definitely not been easy to hypnotise.
He stood, but he was zombie-like. He was hypnotised, but inside, I knew he knew what was going on. He was still fighting it.
Deceit summoned an orange flame an threw it at Virgil’s feet.
(Virgil’s POV)
I saw my… friends. They stood, seeing me- weak. I was helpless. Even when I fought my hardest I had been… crushed. I nearly gave up. But I knew I shouldn’t.
“Come on, Virgil.” I heard their voices.
“Love is an… open door,” I heard Roman’s. For him. For all of them.
Just as my sight returned, I was gone. I couldn’t see anymore. I tried to move. Over and over. Trying to move myself. Trying to breathe. If I just blink-

Deceit stood behind Virgil. “I hope you’re satisfied,” he said. Patton cried. Logan covered his eyes. Roman reached out, but couldn’t move his legs. Virgil kept fighting. He could do it.
Roman’s hand tightened on the hilt of his sword. He tried to move his own feet.
Deceit smiled, pulling Virgil close. “You got what you wanted,”
Virgil made himself blink- he was so close-
“But you lost want you had!!”
Virgil’s sight returned and he saw them- Logan not caring to hide his emotion anymore, trying to move towards them. Patton was crying, doing his best not to give up. Roman was in between them, sword drawn, moving in slow motion towards me.
Then everything went black- except for the glow of the candle’s flame.

Patton, Logan and Roman haven’t seen Virgil in a while. Thomas was acting weird and the three sides has been looking for him since he was gone. In the Mind Palace, his room, everywhere. Until, they get a note from Deceit himself saying HE has Virgil. Confused yet determined to get him back, they went to Deceit, trying to find Virgil. Anxious, they found a door, opened it, they were greeted by a snake, yellow eyes started to glow in the dark, suddenly it was gone. Scared, they looked around until they were roped on a chair. (i’m lazy to write what happened in the animatic but skipping to the part where we see Virgil.) Patton, more scared than he is, he saw Virgil lying down on the ground, looking lifeless. “VIRGIL!” Patton shouted, everyone turned to where Patton was looking, he was already crying more than the water he recently drank. “Oh, you want to see something?” Deceit asked. Logan gulped, he didn’t know what was happening and saw two of his best friends already crying. He’s at the verge of crying, he didn’t know that was feelings. Deceit grabbed Virgil in the air, taking him to his side. “Anxiety, long time no see.” said Deceit, acting like they haven’t seen each other in a long time. Virgil’s eyes started to open, blinking rapidly, eyes turned yellow. “Well the other guys were bad anyway.” Virgil shrugged. Roman gasped, he was so confused. Roman thought they were on good terms. /Turns out it was all a lie./ Patton looked at Roman, he was discouraged by the lies Virgil made. “Well, me and Anxiety over here need to talk, so, toodles!” Deceit, making an attempt to escape since Virgil was fighting his power. The three were hugging each other, protecting each one in fear of losing one, Virgil saw this, confused, his eyes turned to normal, but he was already gone with Deceit when he wanted to shout, “Guys! I’m here!” but was engulfed by the darkness from Deceit.

OK SO IM GONNA GUESS THE PLOT: Virgil goes missing and Patton, Roman & Logan decide to go into deceits room to see if he has him. It backfires and instead they get captured. During this Deceit plays with their minds and creates replicas of them to mock them for fun and as a powerplay. Deceit then reveals that he does have Virgil but he's unconscious and basically takes over Virgils mind into making him think the other sides rejected him so he rejects the sides back. He reverts back into a dark side and sides with Deceit bc he thinks he's been rejected. Roman plans to attack Dee but Dee uses magic to kidnap Virgil but Virgil regains consciousness to realize whats happening before he gets kidnapped . ALSO VIRGIL AND ROMAN ARE MARRIED!!!

Stories to do with Deceit always have Deceit wanting Anxiety but Roman wanting Anxiety and then Deceit goes crazy and drives Anxiety mad and then Roman has to save Anxiety but I love this!!!
I kinda ship Deceit and Anxiety accept when Deceit is less insane but 99% of my Anxiety shipping is him and Roman

1. Is that supposed to be one of the specific Sides in the tarot card for Sadness? The big V shape under the neck looks like it is meant to be part of a hood or clothes, so I am having trouble figuring out who it is (though I have 2 guesses with context clues)
2. Is Roman wearing a ring at the end?

Deceit’s facial expressions are so amazing! It shows actual happiness to having Virgil back while still showing the way he is totally at ease and feels no guilt in turning him! Props to you!

Oml FINALLY, I thought of this idea as soon as deceit was first introduced but I have no talent for animatics so 😅 but this is awesome! And the part where Deceit is like "as a specimen, yes I'm intimidating~" so just Muwah, so PERFECT!!!

and then i proceeded to watch it a couple more times and wish there was more to the story
I'm living for the Prinxiety and Logicality, like when Logan was protective of Patton and when Roman was crying while the other two looked worried.
So... this is what I have so far for a fic inspired by this.
Virgil was clearly in a perilous, losing battle with his insomnia. A battle that had lasted a week before anyone noticed and that had left him wobbly and barely coherent. He didn't even have the energy to pop back to his room. This left them wondering the mind palace looking for the nearest Side's room. They were pretty sure they were nearing Roman's room, but none of them really knew how to get there with out popping in or using Thomas.
Logan reached for the door that seemed the most likely to represent creativity, or at the very least theater. The frame was decorated with broken masks and that was enough for him to reach for the door. By the time he had opened it a crack, Roman had looked up from a literal hissing Virgil and tried to speak.
A yellow glow was the only warning they had before they were pulled into a terrifying spectacle. Virgil was the only one not pulled in. Roman felt him try to hold him back, but he was shaking and his grip wasn’t quick or firm enough. Roman tried to look back at the doorway, but he couldn’t see even a glimpse of purple.
“Well, isssn’t thisss an expected sssurprissse!” A voice chortled, “Welcome to my world.”
Whatever force that had pulled them into the room crept around their legs and dragged them to a set of chairs. “Sit down at my table and put your minds at ease,” The voice greeted in a tone that was almost buttery and warm enough to be reassuring, but off enough to send a trill of unease through their bones.
“If you do,” he cooed, “It will enable me to do anything I please.” They were each dragged into a chair by the table and something slithered up and secured them into the seats. There were footsteps and a face was leaning over them. Half scaly face, one gleaming yellow eye, a cape, a fedora that was a relic from a time Thomas would rather not think about… There was no mistaking the owner of this room. Each side registered this while their host examined each of them with a relaxed smirk. Patton could see him searching and doing a head count.
“There isn’t a SON here,” He giggled, “So would ya mind giving us a little light?”
That was clearly not the thing to say. It left Patton the target of most of the toying that would ensue, but at least it meant Virgil wasn’t in a place that would make him the least comfortable.
The other points I want to hit are:
-When Logan goes, "Don't touch him," Virgil starts to sneak into the room.
-He tries to rip the snakes off of Roman or Logan. Whoever Deceit isn't paying attention to.
-When the illusions appear, Virgil is startled and starts hyperventalating
-Deceit notices Virgil after the line "Gospel Truth,"
-Virgil's exhaustion gets to him when the light changes and he passes out.
-Deceit probably messes with his dreams or otherwise possesses him while he is unconscious.
-The illusions/Deceit point out that they got what they wanted (Virgil to get some sleep) but lost what they had (Virgil safe.)
-They are pushed out of Deceit's room by the snakes and can barely see Virgil struggling for consciousness/being aware of what is happening
-The door to Deceit's room is locked
-They need to find Sleep's room to get in touch with Virgil.

I can’t believe I just found this now! Personally, I don’t really think twice about animatics, but this one is amazing! You have a talent, friend! I loved it and I’m going to keep loving it and I will most likely rewatch it a bazillion times!

Ahh "far from the ones who abandoned you" next to "love is an open door" hurts me so deep. Deceit's power to convince Virgil that the other sides don't love him even though they're right there wanting to help is heartbreaking.

You know how movie characters often clench their fists until they're bleeding out of anger? That was me when Deceit came near Patton, I was way into this. I forgot it was merely an animatic, I almost screamed bloody murder when deceit used Virgil. He needs to leave my two cinnamon buns alone
