He is all in music. Having seen the whole concert three times, this clearly is one of the best broadcasts recently and quite a discovery.. Bravo to Medici team! Lezhneva (soprano soloist) sounds stunning (one has to see Agitata da due venti da capo yet to believe this is human singing!!!!!). To say the orchestra under Mo Shekhtman sounds sensitive in accompaniment would be understatement - each aria conductor and musicians breathe and phrase together with soprano, whilst in solo pieces orchestra sounds out of this world. Check out Rossini's La Gazza Ladra Overture and you will be astonished how orchestra musicians react to conductor - it's clear they adore this young director, who leads elegantly. I wonder who arranged the score of Schubert Ave Maria - sounds a bit Christmas-like yet talented and charming; agree the orchestra is exceptionally good and wonder how long they rehearsed - the interpretation however is entirely on conductor which is great achievement by Maestro Shekhtman among others here. All in all, this definitely is combination of top concert paired by Hollywood-style broadcast by Medici - would definitely recommend to watch the full concert, impressive and fresh.

It's not a conducting, it's just spontaneous hand waving and face changing. RNO is exceptional orchestra, of course they played well, but don't think, that it's because of this guy.
