      just if you get it DON'T upgrade the intel driver, upgrade nvidia all you want but you will 100% regret updating the intel one cus the laptop will feel really messed up, I had to rollback the update to get it running smoothly again

    i have this laptop for 5 month working great .. display is great .. overall quality is good .. sound is quiet loud.. keyboard is nice with adjustable backlight in software..
    utility port is the best you can get especially with thunderbolt 3 with competitor at least 300 dollar more.. any laptop with gtx1060 and above is completely different experience and tier compare to x50 and below (serious no joke had fren with msi with gtx1050 feel really mediocre compare to this)

    I'm gonna grab this in around 2 weeks. After lots of comparisons with Helios 300 and other "7700HQ+1060GTX" laptops i've come to the conclusion that this is the better all rounder, on the bare-bones side for its price, no SSD or extra ram because those tend to be overpriced.

    • @Theodore_VII
      @Theodore_VII Před 6 lety +1

      Alex Razorcif Same here, exactly around that time as well. Although what got me cautious were the screen comparisons. What panel model are you getting? I might stick to a 1080, which just would be perfect for the GTX 1060. 4K seems unnecessary.

      Emman Pascual Of course, the 1080p one seems a no brainer. I have already stretched my budget a lot and cannot really dish out more than 1170 euros. Current price in my country.
      Sai Nivedh Vallala man I'd like to, but first of all I don't have that in my most popular electronic store. Second, they sell Inspiron 7567 and the version with 7300HQ and gtx 1050(non ti) is 30 euros more expensive than the y720. I don't want to know how the better Inspiron 7577 is priced xD. Also I like the fact that Lenovo's got those pretty Dolby atmos speakers. Also the look of it is pretty fine.

    Are those average temps or highest temps? If we are talking about highest temps, mine can hit 85 C on the CPU and 70 C on the GPU, but that's with the fan booster on, undervolting, using a cooling pad, and sometimes (depending on the game) even undercharging the CPU at the cost of some acceptable performance loss. It's still well within reason for a gaming latptop, but it's not almost as cool as a desktop. My guess is maybe you factored idle temps when drawing an average? Or the room was very cool when you tested? Anyway, very good review.

    • @IhateYoutube
      @IhateYoutube Před 5 lety

      Mine used to run as high as 80c too. I thoroughly cleaned both the CPU die and GPU die with an Arctic Silver cleaning kit (2 step process) and then re-pasted both dies with Noctura
      NT-H1 paste and gave it a week to settle. My temps now for both CPU and GPU are running under 40C for web surfing (typically 6-7 tabs open in Firefox, Playing Videos, email running and running CAM for monitoring. Under Unigine Superposition Benchmark default fan speeds it hits 55-60c with extreme cooling enabled it hits 50C.
      I highly recommend a good cleaning and re-paste! I'm not undervolted at all, all default clocks and voltages.

    Hi, is the lenovo y720 screen bright enough for office use ? I have seen a lot of review saying that the screen is dim. Usually I will just play game on the laptop. Can it play all the demanding game with high setting ? I am deciding to buy between this, acer helios 300 or dell 7577. Could you give me the best option ? Because i have seen some review saying about gtx1060 max Q (dell 7577)is not great compare with the GTX1060. You made a great video btw !

      @kevinhappy5119 Před 6 lety

      I have the y720, Im using it in an office 8 hours everyday. I watched a lot of reviews before I bought it, heard the "dim" thing, I wouldn't consider it dim at all. It is bright enough. If that is all you may be hesitating, you shouldn't. ;)

    • @kevinhappy5119
      @kevinhappy5119 Před 6 lety +3

      Well the SRGB contrast is kinda only 70%, so I wouldnt really use it for photoshop and video editing, since you can easily miss edit the colors, which maybe look good on the Y720's monitor, but different on other monitors. But just having it for everything else, it really does looks nice. Trust me its a nice display, but usually not recommended for professional editing.

    • @kevinhappy5119
      @kevinhappy5119 Před 6 lety +2

      Im using the laptop for work too, and my work place is a 20 minute walk from my home. When I first got this Laptop, and bought a backpack for it. I felt that it was heavy, and was a bit worried that it may somehow open the zips on my backpack and fall out. But having it for 3 months now and carrying it with me everyday to work and back home after, I dont even feel that it is on my back. And I even have the battery charger, and a dualshock 4 controller with me everytime. So after getting used to it for some days, you wont even notice it. Atleast I dont really. :)

    I'd be super glad if anyone can answer this. Well, this morning I went to the a store nearby to get a Lenovo legion y520 laptop. Surprisingly I saw it has GTX 1060 4GB graphics. It was mentioned in the system info and also in the original box. But when I check online GTX 1060 has only 3GB or 6Gb models. Rushdi Latiff Hey there. I have been looking into this laptop (and graphics card) since I intend to get one for myself. GTX 1060 only comes in 3 or 6 GB. That thing might be mispelled or fake misleading. The one graphics card for Laptops in this price range/brand that has 4gb is the 1050Ti. Maybe check their validity but seems a bit fishy. Hope this helps :)

      @chrisc.1005 Před 6 lety

      kernelxoom I was exactly just like you in the same price range looking for a good laptop sometimes I would decide to get the 7577 but I remembered the thick bezels and 1060 max q is not as future proof as I wanted to be. I once thought the acer Predator should be my choice but with all the bad reviews of it getting hot and the build quality being almost 100% plastic made me give up. I also thought about the Lenovo Y series but after realizing how dim and ugly the screen was I had completely changed my mind. I’ve grown up and the need of gaming has really decreased and the need of a good battery,display and build quality has increased. But my budged has stayed the same. I’m still looking for a laptop with very good display for around $1000 yep that’s all I need a very good display for that price. But as simple as it sounds I haven’t found any good enough, I don’t know if you know any laptops with very good display for around $1000 because it seems like you’re very confused sorry I couldn’t help you with that because I gave up.

      @@yummiermussel5331 I dunno, I've tried doing some Google searches and drew up a blank. Its unusual for someone to just leave without saying something, responding to at least one comment. I fear something may have happened to him...hope not !

      It is more like better bang for your buck in terms of raw performance but it got more plastic and lenovo with aluminum on the outside but both of them are great.

      Suhaas Chennapragada Legion Y720 has overall better build quality, more features like extremely good speakers, Xbox one controller support and is comparitively thinner and lighter than the Helios 300 and has a better battery life too

    • @pooravdhingra
      @pooravdhingra Před 6 lety

      Suhaas Chennapragada you just said decent, the legion has way better build quality and amazing speakers plus the keyboard, Lenovo keyboards are extremely good, and well, for the price, the Helios 300 is 1050$ while the legion y720 is 1200$. The price in this video is outdated and the official price on Lenovo website for the same specifications is 1200$, so, you'd rather spend 150$ extra for more durability and better quality

      Suhaas Chennapragada no you use to have to buy a large adapter and connect it to usb to use it wirelessly, not as much of a concern with the revised Xbox one controllers now connecting over Bluetooth but that wireless adapter was like $50
