You and your helpful information is what made me take the step to throw away comb and brush and just allow nature to take its course. I'll admit that in the beginning I was ready to cut my hair and get formed locs, but I've stayed the course and two years later I'm loving the look.
I can’t remember which of your videos I learned this from but your suggestion to beat dreads against furniture/walls to get water out after washing changed my life. Thank you.
I'm letting my hair do what it wants too. Even so, I have the impression that nothing has changed about it... When it's dry it's a mess, all wrinkled and imperfect, I think it looks like a 4C. Then it's time for me to wash it, and it sort of "detangles itself" and becomes something close to a 3C... Practically curls! I have faith that one day it will become cool locks...
I want to thank you for all the information you have put on CZcams about free form dread locks, your information has been golden the best for me being about how to wash and dry your locs it’s been a game changer.
Idk why these twisted dreads or sponge dreads are even considered freeforms. The sponge just twist up your hair and give more organic looking parting, but there's not much of a difference between the sponge method than manually creating parts and twisting up the hair. Btw I don't recommend sponging your hair, it causes a lot of breakage and dries out your hair from the constant friction
I’ve been on my FFD journey for over 2 years and my only regret is not having the patience to cut my hair and grow from there. I rocked a fade before and just let my hair grow from there but now I want them on the sides.
I grew my first set of freeforms from washes and rubber bands but your absolutely right you don’t need a sponge or gel but I do recommend getting oil for moisture and a great shampoo
Hi. I just started my hair growth journey; and my hair is 6months now.. I wanna know if it’s okay for me to be applying hair growth hair cream on my hair every day?? Not like I wash my hair everyday(just let water on it but no washing) but I apply hair cream on it every time I take a shower
Bro I need help😢,,, I'm 1 and a half years into my freeform journey,, but now i just took a little look at the back of my head and I have alittle bald spot there , and the locs are alittle bit far apart,, what should I do bro
careful bro, might end up being the loc police. lool theres a lot of misinformation about freeforms but let people call it whatever they want. technically if you separate at all, salon or solo, its not freeform. so most freeforms arent technically freeforms no matter how authentic they look. just because youve unlocked 11/10 looking freeforms again doesnt mean you should gatekeep 😂 W video though
@@NM-en3flGood question, bro. That’s why you have people like Johnny the Dred who has a ginormous dreadlock and basically puts himself on the margins of society just because of an obsession with lexical or conceptual perfectionism.
Freeform means the locks are formed freely. Forming refers to the formation of the lock-in other words, the locking process. Separation is by no means part of a lock formation. It may influence the appearance of the set of locks. But when you separate, you only pull apart the locks that are forming or are already formed. Now, if by freeforming you mean that the locks take a form of their own, then again, separating doesn’t change the locks’ freedom to assume the shape they want. In other words, by separating, I may push the who set of locks to form in a certain way. Still, the ability of the individual sections to take the shape they will is by no means thwarted, altered, or compromised. Does the Panama Canal make the water that goes through it semi-natural or unnatural water?
Washing part is confusing to me I am very active and sweat a lot but I wash my hair with shampoo and use a sponge once a week. Is that the wrong approach?
Yh don't use sponge just wash your hair allow them dry then if you do serious activities cover your locs up with locs cover or bonnet it will help ,anything thing too is be patient. Ve a spray bottle and use it like 3 times a week.. Not every locs like oil it might make your locs stink so i recommend just water on your spray bottle. Stay blessed
They just don’t know what Freeform is
They really don’t especially on tik tok😂
People making the most simple hairstyle so complicated is crazy 😂 I'm 7 years in from a fro and have never done anything but wash and oil my scalp
“They buying Afro picks to stop from locking.” Lol 😂, man that is so true. How does somebody expect their hair to lock if they keep picking it 🤦🏾♂️

“It’s the afro-picker!” 😂
I fell victim to the “pick” method but after awhile I got lazy and just stopped💀💀

Thanks for further explaining that "afro dreads" are not "freeform dreads" because they maintain their hair, which isn't freeforming.
great video man and well said

Man watching this gave me anxiety lol none of these are Freeform

So are you saying there is no such thing as free form?
Correct information is not gatekeeping lmao

What of avocado oil ?
😂😂😂😂😂
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
First🎉
how do you section your Freeform?
You don’t: you let it section on its own, and then you separate so the hair won’t clump together.
Drink more water that’s for real!
