When you asked for names I immediately thought of Ginger who was the best friend of Black Beauty written by Anna Sewell many years ago. Unfortunately she came to a sad end and the story has stayed with me since I read the book as a child. I am so happy to think that this time Ginger has a very happy ending and the child in me from long ago is happy too. Thank you for the great compassion you show to all your animals and these marvellous vlogs. 😍
It's absolutely sickening how many horses are killed each year as 'spills' from equine sports. Especially racing (gallop/harness). There are many many horses foaled each year that will never earn their keep. Even old superstars are ground down to dog food.
I just had to comment again, thank you for sharing your time bathing Ginger, as I watched I noticed how her whole body changed from the start quite tense then towards the end she looked calm and regal and very beautiful when finished and back in her stable. All five of you do such an amazing job rescuing and caring for these beautiful horses thank you again.
Your beautiful Ginger girl will blossom and hopefully relax now with all your TLC & empathetic understanding... She looks so nice after her bath, and what a relief it must have been for her... thanks for explaining the very important aspects of what these horses are (and have been) mentally & emotionally coping with, Nick. In your last vid she was circling around the paddock and going through the two trees like she was still in the show ring... it will be hard for her to 'just be', rather like a person whose had a high profile life, and then retires. They are so fortunate to have found the way to the Moon Sanctuary!! 💜

She does seem to enjoy it too , I do feel that she knows her life has changed for the better she feels your calming and caring nature I'm sure. Is there a reason for you and your son not talking to her while she was having her bath please? The work you do is just amazing you make such a difference, I didn't know there was such a thing as horse meat trade, how disgusting is that, I mean you wouldn't eat your racing dog when it matures or gets an injury, surely you would keep it as your pet. Horses aren’t so very different from humans are they! As humans age, they want to stay active and valued. They also want to know that they have something to contribute. Is there a campaign or could one be started , to create legislation that makes it mandatory for owners of these fabulous working horses , to provide an ‘equine pension’ scheme to invest money for their retirement ? As you stated lots of time and expense will have been spent on their upkeep whilst working ,so a few extra Euros shouldn’t be too much to ask to provide for their well-being in retirement . 💕

Thank you for all you are doing but the more you tell us the more I want to know because apart from being a spectator - that is with show jumpers and race horses, I know very little about ownership.The money aspect in racing is very obvious but is it the same in showjumping? Is it really the grooms and stable hands who love the animals, who are then passed on to the highest bidder when they retire?

Hi Nick. I just watched this video for the second time and at one point when you were stroking Cinderella you say, (14:47/14:52)"... She's not an everyday horse...". I'm wondering what various conditions would you watch for in order to determine this? Thank you again a gazillion times for all that you and Jenny and the family do. ox
Hello , she is not a horse that could be ridden everyday , she enjoys the odd stroll out, she has not aged well and has a few health issues , we ride her on a Saturday and maybe once in the week, just in walk so it keeps her mined stimulated and gives her something to look forward to, she loves hearing the saddle jingling as it arrives , takes her back to her hayday we think. Our Eldest son rides her mostly they go off exploring 🌙
Yes she is small , she would have been very strong, show jumpers are all sizes, some of the smallest horses have proven to be the best, quick and nimble, she has been ridden by both men and women in her career ❤🌙
Just catching up on old episodes. I had a thought come to mind, me being from Kentucky. Have you done equestrian in Kentucky? Do you have a horse that came from the US, maybe Kentucky?

Do you ever worry about getting kicked or thrown from a new house. It is amazing how well your kids are around the horses.
Ginger is the perfect name for her. While getting her bath, we could see her regal self as she raised her head and posed. She is so beautiful.

Hello , yes the water was warm , its still very hot here so it was tepid to take the chill off but keep her comfortable ❤🌙
