seeing his mother in (happy) tears really made me emotional. ronaldo and his family had to make sacrifices to make him who he is today, and the award is for them all. those years in lisbon away from home and family paid off. personally for me, to see a player i first watched in 2003 pick up a major gong for the 2nd time in his career 10 years on is a very emotional moment. i feel like i'm part of the journey. you are my biggest inspiration, cristiano.

Look, Ronaldo has been working his ass off since he was twelve, to get where he is now. Ronaldo's way was totally much harder than Messi's. Ronaldo had a hard time, his father was a alcoholic, and he died when Ronaldo was very young. Ronaldo also had to move from his family to bet on football.
And Messi, has always been good in football. He was born good, he got picked up by Barcelona when he was 10 years old. And Messi has always been there..

All the money Ronaldo got from EUFA EURO 2016 he gave it to people who needs it, while Messi gave incorrect information about how much he earned to avoid paying tax on any money. The Ballon d'Or bases on who is the best! Ronaldo deserve it because he had an amazing year. He broke all the records of him self and he work so hard to win it.
I'm sure Ribery would have won. But what many dont see is that he wasnt crucial for Bayern the way Ronaldo and Messi are for Real madrid and Barcelona. That doesnt make Ribery worse, but it makes it harder for Ribery since you could pick everyone in Bayern for this award.
Bayern is a major strong unit, and Ribery is one in the mix. Ronaldo is the main man of every team he plays in.
Thats the difference, and i also think Zlatan should have been atleast third.

Why would Ribéry deserve it more then Ronaldo?? Ribery as less assists and goals then Ronaldo. And more, Ribéry and Messi had less goals then Ronaldo together in the past year.
Like I read before, in Bayern Munich they have a strong team in global, no one carry the team like Ronaldo or Messi did in their times, but Messi have the company of Xavi and Iniesta who are both on other level. Ronaldo is the man on Real Madrid and carry the team and Portugal's nacional team too. His numbers are absolutly stunning in 2013, so he deserve it.

Messi has an amazing dribble and an amazing team with him, Barcelona's playstyle gives a striker a lot of goals, in this case Messi is a striker and with his talent he gets a lot of goals. Ronaldo however can do everything that the sport requires. Both feet, headers, skill, dribble, free-kicks you name it, he can do it. He even has some unique passes with shoulders and back that actually go towards his teammate. CR is however not the striker of Real Madrid, he makes goals from a lot of different ways which is how he keeps up with Messi. Messi makes goals from inside the 16 mostly and then some free-kicks. Also mostly with 1 foot. Real Madrid however in last season I believe Benzema and Higuain both scored about 20 goals each. If you looked at Barcelona, not many goal scorers from different players. Sure Pique had some goals and Iniesta etc, but such a small percentage. So it's normal for Messi to make more goals, however CR is much more complete, which isn't opinion but fact. It's only how you really look at it. Messi more goals and also more assists which is very important, but can you compare those statisitics when it's a teamsport and different teams? Barcelona all stays close together and passes a lot, easy to get assists.

Hate him or love him, CRonaldo, is arguably one of the best football/soccer player in the world presently and historically -- an all around player; dribbling, free kicks, striking etc..
I didn't think too much of him during his stench at ManU, but after he transferred to Madrid, he definitely made a huge mark and impression on me as a world-class footballer/soccer elite. And trust me, I am not easily impressed by the likes of just anyone as a football/soccer fan.
