"She struck a producer. She hit a cameraman." Those comments were funny in those days because the idea of someone actually doing it was so absurd. Alas, times have changed.😟 By the way, Johnny Olson was one of the greatest announcers in the history of TV broadcasting. He not only announced for "The Price Is Right", but also "Match Game", "Tattletales", and numerous others. He coined the phrase, "Come on down!"
So true so good!
You don't know what you're talking about boy!

I miss Bob on The Price Is Right, a lot of great memories.
He was sexist

Don't figure out my age, but I will always remember Bill Cullen as host of 'The Price is Right'.
@@Juliaflo Bill Cullen was my all time favorite game show host.it 🙂
bob barker was a great host. he made the show fun.
Yes!! Bob Barker is a phenomenal legend!!
Bob Barker had charisma, humor, charm, personality, an almost mischievous sparkle in his eyes, with just a tad bit of Jack Benny's sarcasm. No one else comes close; he was the Johnny Carson of game shows.
Drew what's-his-name NEVER should have gotten the show; he just isn't the right fit.
Yea but he was humping the help.
He's still alive
Yes. I watched show with my mom. 🥰
"She doesn't want to discuss it. She threw it back in the bag and stomped off. She struck a producer. She hit a camera man." 😆😆

The precursor to today's modern Karen.
And the youtubs rabbit hole brings me here! I always felt so bad for these people as I sat on my couch being 10 years old and home "sick" ( Hah!) from school, or in summertime watching this before taking off on my bicycle for the afternoon to who knows where... thanks for the memories Bob!

Man, if only we knew back then how great things were.
And if only we knew now how great things are.
They weren't great me in the slightest. My life is so much better today.
I feel Linda’s pain that was beautiful car she could have
So true. And that’s hard not to think about these days.
Says a man.
My first truck cost me $8100 out the door. Now they're pushing $60k. WTH. I bought 10 cases of canned coke for a quarter a six pack on sale once. Got 10 cases for $10. 2 liters were $.69 each. Now a 20oz will run almost $3. People have asked if you could go forward or backwards in time, which would you choose? I'd go backwards for many reasons. I couldn't afford the future.

She doesn’t realize that the car is a real POS! 😆
I work on cars for a living. This is a true statement.
But as Johnny Olsen said, it did have an AM/FM stereo radio.
It seems like a Firebird Light. My wife had a 1977 Firebird, pretty slick.
Haha. Saved her money in the long term.
I heard from someone who won a car on the show that the cars they give away are stripped-down models. This guy paid for several options when he picked up the car from the dealership.
Rumor is she still has a lawsuit pending against them in Civil Court....The People's Court.
for what ?
Judge Wapner and Rusty the Bailiff!!! 😅❤
I am nearly 60 years old and I remember being sick from school back in the 70s and 80s and staying home and watching the prices right all afternoon.
Were you really sick or just faking? Back in 1990 I faked being sick so I could stay home and play my new Nintendo game.
And then wishing you just would have went. Because watching this meant the thrill of staying home was over at that point.
0:56 - Yep, it's 1984 - that dude in the first row couldn't be more in fashion. lol

I love watching these tantrums, somebody needs to make a compilation video for my pettiness.
You must watch Petty Tuesday with Meegan McGlover! LOL! ✌️
Wait, walking away politely back to your seat after losing while still smiling and laughing is a tantrum? You must've been on audio only or something and thought what Bob Barker said was anything other than a joke lol.
That was nowhere near a tantrum! 😂
I heard she’s still in the studio in the back stomping away for that car
🤣🤣🤣🤣
She only wanted that car so she could have a place to live.
LMFAO.
Bob Barker was just the greatest... and a true lover on animals too. R.I.P., legend of legends.
The fact that the car was 8thousand compared to today's prices is awe 😳 I can't even imagine
Adjusted for inflation, that’s like 17k in today’s money or about what a small car costs today. Minimum wage was like 3 an hour. That 175 month car payment back then hurt as much as a modern 350 car payment for a car.
It’s not hard to imagine when your bi monthly take home pay is $300.00.
@@justinl9077 youre way off!so you think its only doubled since 84?Everything has tripled...as in 4 years of big federal spending,we have seen 40% in the last four years!..when i go to biden rallies,I hear the chant "FOUR MORE MONTHS,FOUR MORE MONTHS"
I remember the Corvette being about $8,000. I can’t imagine the price of one now
I feel her pain. She really wanted that car
Well, want in one hand- well… you know the rest of it.
But it had a AM/ FM radio with a clock! I would have wanted it too👌.
She was such a poor loser, she didn't deserve to win anything!
Me too. I can’t believe the price. I want to go back. One income families were the norm. People look so healthy.
@@alfonsogreen2722 After she lost she wanted to get any kind of car (or truck) to run over Bob Barker and the other mofos.
I remember there was episode that an elderly lady was playing Cliffhangers and she had to guess the price for children's clothes. She guessed something like $60, and of course the mountain climber went over the edge. And the old lady snapped at Bob and said, "I don't shop for clothes," and stormed off the stage. And Bob said, "Well, she doesn't shop for clothes." I don't remember the year, but I think it was between 1985-1990. I know that's a huge swath, but I remember I was still in elementary school.
Her fault for not consulting the audience. Unlike this video, that's on her, not on luck of the draw.
I remember the old bag.
@@yaphettvazquez9796 That dried up prune
I hated the yodeling music that they played with that mountain climber.
@@Damone7653 Don't talk about Linda's grandmother that way!
This game is merciless. There's so much left up to chance that the actual pricing rarely takes place.
There’s a documentary about a guy who figured out how they did the pricing and would always get it right
This game has had so many rule changes what with three balls staying in the bag, then one, one out, one back in instead of out, etc. It's not fun anymore.
@@daveincognito She might have had a better chance of winning if she stuck her hands down his bag.
Well, she does have the battery powered golf cart to ride in!😄
Haha
She just needs to learn how to play golf
@@marc7491 Well, that's a good thing because if the show was able to give her the golf clubs after the taping it would be a real drag to chug them back to the asylum she and the group she was with came from.
I like watching this show at my grandma's house. While it's not Bob hosting anymore, it's still so fun to see all the various crazy people (to an extent), and I have to get up in time to see it begin, LOL.
I love these game shows; Match Game is another fave, and I am glad Game Show Network still plays the old episodes.
We had that car during this time! LOL, brand new. So this was around 85' I am sure we saw this one!👍🤣 Poor Linda! 😧
That poor woman. For most of us not rich people, winning a prize like that is life changing. She was so close! I think I would have stomped off too, if only to hide my tears of frustration. ☹️
Well at least she got a lovely parting gift....A copy of the home game🤣
Wouldn't she have also gotten the golf club set?
Poor Linda did not win the car in 3 Strikes. She must had felt sad.
She must furious!
She was pissed.
@@kevinnelson66 she had to be
This is the same anger and sadness she felt with the crazy boyfriends she had.
Never could understand why they scream? I get being excited but never understood the screaming part LMAOO 🤣
Because you grew up rich 🤑
They're encouraged too. They put the most active/reactive people on the shows. On Family Feud, you HAVE TO clap and say Good Answer every answer, whether it's good or not.
I've been in the audience they want you to scream and yell as much as you can.
I love Bob Barker n Rowdy the announcer. Miss his voice. I miss the good ole days.
This announcer was Johnny Olson.
I love nostalgia! My childhood right here within this video. 👧🏼📺❤️ I was five years old when this aired.
Same all around!
I painted every patient room at a hospital with shows like these playing in the rooms. Game shows in the mornings and soaps in the afternoon. In the pre-cable era it was either those or Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers on PBS. The hospital had decent meals in the cafeteria; so it was a nice living back then.
I also feel Linda's pain !!!
Unbelievable pain...
The odds are totally against picking all the numbers and placing them correctly before getting three strikes. I rarely see someone win Three Strikes.
I wonder if she really struck a producer, and hit a camera man. I'll bet that Bob was exaggerating.
He did exaggerate.
Ya think?!
Brian Smith - even if she did, nobody got sued in those days.
Back then the contestants would roll their eyes if the prize was something lame (like carpet).
......or a FORD.
Linda made me sad for her..I think about her every time I tee up with the guys..."ouch!"... : )
Reminds me of being a kid on summer vacation from school watching TV in the morning. Seems like I watched Sanford and Son in the morning too.
And that day "Karen" made her first appearance. The rest is history.
She must have really wanted those ' reclining buckets ' in that coupe.
Very old episode 😁
At least she didn't ask to see a manager lol
That was funny
Why aren’t they calling Karen’s, Priscilla Perhans?
That’s hilarious! The young woman on stage seemed immature and selfish. Bob did a great job saying what he said before breaking for a commercial.
She's had it in every position.
thats what they said about her in high school too
@@emilys3458 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Took the words right out of my mouth!

That losing horn sound is salt on the wound 💀
Linda seemed to want to really win 🏆. I'm sure it sucks to be on TV and lose.
Its sucks to lose in life as well
sadly I actually believed Bob Barker when he said she struck a producer and hit a camera man. Now that would of been great for ratings!
This is unusually entertaining. This is off topic, but love seeing the old products. Including Bob!
Another from TPIR's 84-85 season. I guess you can call it a Oh No! or Oh, So Close department. Of course, close doesn't count in our business.
She is probably a little old lady now. And I just looked it up Bob Barker will be 99 years old next month!! I pray hel makes it to 100
She hardly stomped off🤣
Not did she do any of the other things Bob said she said. She was disappointed, but @ least she took her losing maturely -- w/ dignity.
Were you there?
4:06 she struck the produer...she hit a cameraman...rip to them both lol. by the way that pontiac sunbird would have been $24,703 after inflation in today's dollars :D
Yeah and no CD players and air conditioning.
Couldn't pay me to take that ugly thing 🤣
@@mrwonderful2142 The girl or the car?
lol I bought a new Sunbird and had to have it towed the first night. Took it back for repairs and it broke down driving off the lot. Same story for two years. Dealer refused to do a thing. Finally had to sell it at huge loss and pay for it.
At least she didn't do any harm to Johnny Olson.
The good old days when you could get a reliable car for under 10K!
Ahh yes the good old days when I was earning $2.65 an hour and couldn't afford a $10,000 car.
3:58 BOB BARKER: Get that... Ohhhhh!!! (Buzzer and losing horns) I'm sorry, Linda. She doesn't want to discuss it, she THREW it back in the bag, she stomped off, she struck a producer, she hit a cameraman.
Note: the prize cue music used for both the golf club package and the car were all from the 1970s game show Concentration (hosted by Jack Narz).
I never saw PIR when Bob had dark hair. Wow. I didn’t even know it was him ❤
So I guess you don't remember when he smoked/advertised Raleigh and Belair cigarettes on Truth or Consequences?
Hats off to the bass player who shredded his way through the whole event.
I didn't even watch this show very much, and even I caught quickly on that the price of the bigger prices like cars almost always ends with a 5 or 0. And yet, over and over, you see people who think the last digit is a 4, 7, etc...
But you'd be wrong. The 3 was the last number on this one not the 5. I've seen a lot of car prices without 5 or 0s too.
Remember the times when we thought this was uncivilized behavior and frowned upon? Yes, I'm that old.
"She struck a producer! She hit a cameraman!" 🤣🤣🤣
i so prefer the look of the set was made in someone's garage as opposed to the over-glitzed lights and molded plastic of today's programs.
For the time, this set was state of the art.

So this is when it all started 😂
I had an '89 Pontiac Sunbird LE. Probably the best car I owned .
