This has been a wild 1st round all around. I'm not a fan of either team here, but wow. Perfect game by NJ this goaltender is feeling it. Then the pressure of Palat on that first goal. Damn. Just impressive. The canes have their hands full.

The better TEAM won this series, Rangers may have had a couple of the bigger names, including goalie but the Devils tightened up and straight out worked the Rangers. Great Series. Bring on the Canes. Another team the Devils have quite the playoff history.

And do you think Hank in his prime was better than Shesterkin now? Either way you guys have been treated to two elite tenders back to back
I don't know who honestly thought the Rangers were better than the Devils this year. Im a Rangers fan and I knew the Devils were a better team during the season. In the playoffs, it was only a question of which Devils team would show up, the inexperienced nervous team, or the one that imposed their will with speed and physicality, and both versions showed which is the only reason it went 7. I was honestly shocked when the Rangers won the first two games the way they did, and felt they needed to win game 3. The Rangers team from last year could have beaten the Devils. The Rangers team this year was a huge setback from what they were last year, and Drury compounded the team's issues by signing past their prime players. I hope the Rangers learn from the Devils on how to build a cup team. Hughes looks like a star in the making, while Kakko is just average at best. With No Lightning or Bruins in their way Devils have a good shot.

@@Heytherebuds I don't know how much of this is on the coach vs. the GM. You heard in the post game that gallant doesn't really care about talent Even though it's great to have. That to me seems like an attack on the GM. The only issue I had with gallant is he did not make many adjustments and the team seemed to quit a bit so I don't know. I just know that if I were to put blame, I did not like the players Drury brought on this year, cause they did not address the weaknesses this team had.

They are more of a finesse team than the Rangers. Secondly, when you are up by a couple goals in a game 7 are you supposed to worry about entertaining or winning?

Fantastic series,great playoffs so far,so many great teams,my tampa bay boys just didnt have the same fire as past seasons,getting old i guess,boston is out,hahaha,never thought that would happen,defending champs are out,colorado played some of the best hockey in the last 2 months,wow,they won their division,after being so far behind,but they bow out in the 1st round,and seattle,,,what can you say,this year they are as good as anyone!!

You rags fans really need to let Igor go early on in his playing career, otherwise he might end up like King Nothing Henrik Lundqvist and play 15 years without winning a Stanley Cup. Deserving to win but no chance because he’s strapped to a loser team. I mean you guys came close against the Kings… Not really you only won one game and Queen Lundy fell apart and gave up big leads as per usual in the playoffs. Compare that to Martin Brodeur, came close in 94 early on his playing career, bounced back and won a Stanley Cup the year right after. That’s what separates the all time best versus the franchise best (based mainly on longevity and NHL rule changes). Honestly the last greatest goaltender you guys had was Richter.

Rangers got exposed by the devils speed, forecheck, and puck possession. And after being up 2-0 in the series, none of the star players showed up. Drury sucks and needs to go. Devils are going to be difficult for the next 10 years.

Ive been a Islander fan Since 76 , but when Chico Resch became an NJ Devil, that was my 2nd favorite team, but then i put them in 3rd and my last favorite when The Buffalo Sabres picked up LaFontaine, and i would play NHL95 with LaFontaine and Alexander Mogilny and win every game.
