Thanks for posting this video. Very helpful.
Great info. I will definitely do this to mine today!
Great Job. Thanks for the video.
Thank you, my 2019 Challenger Redeye was stolen a month ago, on my birthday. Lol
Your video showed me exactly what I need for my new 2022...
Sorry to hear that!! That and if it’s an automatic i would take the shifter console out and completely remove the neutral cable mechanism you’ll see what I mean when you unbolt it. I completely remove that cable that goes to the transmission also so they can’t just pull up on that tab and get the car into neutral.
Great video man. I wish Dodge would offer its customers this as a courtesy since these cars cost a grip
Dodge doesn't care unfortunately-class action lawsuit is coming from what I am told🤷🏿♂️
Thanks Dude!👍🏾
Great information!!!! I’m on it!!!
Before you add the the block off plate, I would remove the lever and put a bunch of steel zip ties around it and either reinstall it or tuck it way up under the dash console, then add the block off plate
I see the old school beast outside 👀 that beauty looking good
Thank you so very much, brother.
Well done. I will do the same, beautiful cars BTW
Holy hell i love your cars 😍😍😍😍🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Can the switch be off while car is running? It seems momentary switch would be better, as you won't forget to turn it off before going out.
Thank you for this idea. May I ask about the postal grip shifter. Where did you get that at? Was it a kit?
It’s a mr. norms pistol grip
shifter they make for the current challenger. I highly recommend it.
Thank you for sharing. Mine is an older v6 but I do not have a garage. I have had it less than a week and already someone has messed with my car😳😳😳😳 I thought people only went after v8s😳😳😳😳 and newer models. I got the lockbar already but I want to do the killswitch too. And then a GPS tracker someone else suggested to get from Amazon that is like 20 bucks but the monthly fee is like 15 bucks if you pay annually. It alerts you to your phone with any movement which is nice.
That’s a great plan! I also have the gps trackers that link to my phone on the cars. Ya can never be too safe!
You have an M6 gearbox, the most effective factory equipped anti-theft device! Kill switches should be minimally installed on your Mopar. I have a Ravelco switch installed which operates along the same principle.
Im new in the whole mopar thing. Does this work like say if u want an old police car version of this car and if its a 2011. Does this swich work on those?
Get a Viper 2 way paging alarm.
It includes; shock sensor, and starter kill. Have the tech install 2 Piezos sirens inside the car. 1 underneath steering column and 2nd under glove box. Purchase the Piezos online. They are hand held size and they are loud. Also the alarm comes with it's own siren. Last: have a back up battery added to the alarm system.
Adding the kill switch shown in this video is also a must.
Layers od security is what we are going for.
To be even more stealth interrupt the TX/TX transmit wire on the ALDL port with a switch. That's the port the plug into. Can leave it open almost all the time until you or a shop wants to access the ALDL port.
I c they have a big 3 racing sticker I have one as well on my 2012 392
Hey man where you at? I need to bring my car by. 😁👍
Nice video! Did a kill switch on my STI by hooking up the the clutch line. You can’t start the car or drive it without a working clutch.
Run a kill switch to the fuel pump,no juice, cars gas runs out a few blocks away, after it burns off the fuel in the carburetor and fuel lines,no fuel,no go! You'll find your car a few blocks or mile down the rd! Put a tracker under the seat!
That’s right! I’m planning on doing that and making a video on that as another idea/way folks can prevent theft of there mopars.
IGLA Pincode is a very good one it’s prevent them car from actually from moving it also prevents the car from programming a key fob and deleting a key fob making it where it’s almost impossible to steal.
I've said for a long time a simple switch to kill fuel, spark or as you did the ignition switch is all one should need on any car 👍
@@fonzysgarage1534 Sad we live in a day where those that have nice things have to deal with this 💩as back in the day for me homes were left unlocked even with a simple glass front gun cabinet full of rifles & they were never stolen.......sad!
@@cjbecker1683 I couldn’t agree more! It’s a crazy world out there, mine as well do what ya can to protect your stuff!
Didn’t the security update prevent fobs from being made?
PCM should have only 2 slots …and both those slots should be programmed to you. Only way around this is if they have your signal.
All newer models (22 and up) are programmed standard this way.
The weak point of all Mopars is the stupid neutral strap.
And a guy called Tailgatehappy makes an actual steel BOX that goes over the strap. Much stronger than the plate. Mounted mine using security screws. Like you said, all about adding extra time. Lots of time!
My 2022 charger widebody has motion detection so when you get in the car the alarm will go off.
You fitting three cars in a two bay garage?! Nice! 😂😁👍🏻
@@fonzysgarage1534 I have a 2018 Dodge Charger Daytona 392, and with all these stories about how these cars are getting stolen so easy and often, it freaks me out. It’s not a daily driver, but when ever we go some where we keep a very close eye on it. Going to look into installing a kill switch for sure!
Have you tried to remote start it with the switch off? I applaud your efforts, but with CAN bus I can just send a start command through any connection to the CAN network. I may not even need the OBD port to do that. Uconnect does not use the button for remote start. You really need to interrupt the relay to the starter motor itself. Or even better, the PCM. No power to the PCM and it's dead.
We’ll this car doesn’t have remote start with being a manual, but on my charger it still worked with it off, but you still didn’t have power the the switch and couldn’t take it out of gear.
It pisses me off folks out here stealing other peoples cars they worked hard to get trash ass garbage low lifes…
Instead of using a toggle switch, would it still be safe to use a monetary switch (only active while the secret button is held)? Like, would the car die right after it starts up or would it stay awake since the starter-button is only needed to start/stop the car?
An easy test is to turn off the killswitch while the car is running (and in park) to see if it happens. I want as much info as I can before I start cutting and splicing wires.
@@robertsegal one source showed "yes, if you install it between the start button power (not the fuel pump or main battery)," but it's only one source. I'm going to install a toggle and a momentary in parallel (use one or the other), and see how it works.
Going to take quite some time before i can put that into motion, though.
@@robertsegal not at this time. I found one source that says it would work, but it was also on an older car (2008? Maybe earlier) so it might not work with modern cars (2015+).
Also currently it's been too cold to consider working on car stuff to test it out.
What about stick shift hellcats?
New to the mopar family, this also impacts remote start from key fab right?🤔
It shouldn’t, I have a charger that remote start still works on even with no power to the ignition switch
It is a damn shame you even have to consider doing this!
I’ve had two customers that installed kill switches in their Their vehicle and they still got the car to run me personally as a mechanic I pull out two really switches under the hood any time I have to leave it alone Plus 2 GPS trackers
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can you hide it in your house the part you saying the switch
Yo bro can you tell me what that block is called to stop the car from going into neutral?
destroyer1320.com/shop-tds-covers-1/ols/products/201-202-charg here is the link for the one I have.
Thanks for the info dude… fortunately my demon ain’t in the US… u guys r outta control there
Nice pistol grip shifter
Good info. I'll be sending this to my best friend with a Hellcat.
Side note: I'm guessing this works with any push button start car?
@@fonzysgarage1534 Seemed like it should. I'll just need to look up a diagram for my particular car. Thank you.
You can add a kill switch to any car to the same effect, but yeah this works on every push button car I know of.
I’d rather take matters into my own hands if someone steals my car
Did that long time ago I'm old school and and he hit the switch they'll never find it.
Great idea. Just find a great hiding spot, thieves also have you tube.
On top of that they are stealing those things with flatbeds now. They don't always plan to drive them. Straight to chop shop.
Dark video , thank you tho
There’s know way or cheap way the best way I heard is pray your not next!
You know you can pull the switch right out when you're not using the car right? It's a holdover from the old key style. If your push button goes bad you pull out the button and there's a square terminal for the teardrop style keys from the mid 2000s on. I just pull the switch out of the challenger and leave it in my nightstand.
Well yeah, but this is for folks that don’t want to do that. Just another way to help people keep their cars. The more the better.
@@fonzysgarage1534 I just found for as often as I drive the challenger it was the safest bet foe me.
If you are near Salisbury Mass. I will retint that door for free.
The fact alone that y'all have to do all that makes it so good to not want a Mopar. 🙏🏾
Like other cars don’t get stolen. I’d be installing anti theft devices even if it wasn’t a mopar, it’s 2022.
@@fonzysgarage1534 how many videos of "other cars being stolen" are trending in 2022 though? I get it though..🤣
@@dariush3587to each their own, the thing is tho, won’t stop me from having what I like. 👍
Not being negative but as a mechanic/body man all you have to do is carry a cordless battery and add power to what you need. Thieves are getting smarter and seeing what ppl are doing on you tube. But great video.
No one ever said it’s was 100% theft proof. It’s just an idea that can/will in most cases.
@@fonzysgarage1534 i agree. I’m just letting ppl know that it can be bypassed if they don’t have the knowledge That’s all
Not everyone knows manual so it's really not that easy to steal a manual car
Maybe that might stop some dumb kid from stealing your car for a joyride, but pro car thieves all know how to drive a stick. It's kind of a job requirement lol
Or just leave it in the middle of your garage in between 2 cars and they won't be able to get it out, LOL 😜
Breaking out the rear window in the Charger doesn't set the alarm off? WTH Dodge???
Just install a fully manual transmission
Or do it need to be near the car
At this point im so sick of dodge i dont even care if it gets stolen these 2015 and up models are full of problems
Really? My 2 2016s I can say have been great so far. What issues have you had with yours?
You need to keep the expenssive cars in the garage or built a privacy wall
Mine got steal attempt at the private parking at my job location, in bright day light, in front of two CCTV cameras for Gods sake. Thankfully they screwed something up big time and didn't take it. My keys were jacked at the same time... sad moment, but now I know how to make it even harder for those FUCKERS. GET THE FUCKING JOB.
what about the club ,,are those a joke
Damn dude is there a reason why you could not have done that outside in the sun or had a good flashlight can’t see jack shit
Old idea, but most of them are just rolling them on a flatbed since the stupid steering wheel doesn’t lock in place
Never said it was 100% effective. And that wouldn’t happen in my driveway 😂
But you know the whole chain to prevent work technique, and a cheap lock that can be effective
Just pull the fuse for the Fuel pump. Cost $ ZERO
Still seems excessive, when someone could literally see you pulling the fuse, and if they are scoping out your car they will know. A hidden switch that is out of plain sight would throw them off and they most likely wouldn’t have the time to figure it out. It’s better than doing nothing, and I wasn’t worried about the money 😂
Thief’s rn✍️
Nah, none of the ways in how they steal it is new. You can’t prevent theft without knowing how they do it, apparently not everyone gets that 🤔
I’m looking forward to dodge showing how they made trillions, think about09 rt challenger29k zero miles srt8was40k zero miles same body style in2022 rt 38k srt scat 48k add supercharger body kit wider wheels60k to100k same car lol
I mean I’m glad they didn’t change much and stayed to a big muscle or at least modern muscle car, would i pay 100k for the same challenger I paid 60k for as a 2016? Nope. So I see what ya mean there. As a owner of both I can appreciate the nostalgia with new one.
Mopar from being
Didn’t show how to install
You needed to see me cut the red wire and hook up a switch to it? I explained how to do it, and showed this method of theft prevention, how it worked etc. pretty simple stuff here.
A hundred dollar spotter in another car / bodyguard with a silenced pistol and a fake FBI badge 'use your imagination until u catch one to make them bones
Or you could just slap a Ford oval on them. Because who the hell would want to steal a Ford?
Theifs rn 👀👀👀👀
I’m sure they watch my video just to see how to steal a car, they don’t already know how to take them 🫡
Only problem with your method is that a cloned or reprogrammed key can be used to remote start the car. Cutting that button won't stop the key fob from remote starting the car. 90% of the time they have a key...
They can’t get it into drive on remote start, and my challenger which is a manual doesn’t have remote start.
It’s sad u buy $100,000 this crap bag take your cars or hook up a 220 volt watch them fry nice video
Great tutorial on how to steal our cars. 45k views, God knows how many more people will now be out here stealing our shit🤦
That’s really what you interpret from this? Lord what is wrong with some of you.
1:46 how’s a manual easier to steal than an automatic? I thought it was a anti theft device for millennials 😭🤣
they can easily get the car into neutral vs automatic with a lock out plate like my charger has you can’t.
Doesn’t the the steering wheel locks ? But yeah that kill switch it’s great idea plus a full pump kill switch too tho
@@FranciscoHernandez-dq7rf definitely going to be shooting a fuel switch video soon! And unfortunately they don’t on these cars! Never understood why they didn’t.
Rather have my bmw you dodge owner have to deal with dangerous black people on a daily basis 😂😂
Sorry man terrible video. No need to defend against some of the comments like this one either. Just take it as constructive criticism and if you’re going to make more videos you may want to take the advice of your viewers. Next time get a damn light. Like you said to another on here “pretty simple stuff here”. And don’t repeat yourself so much, it’s annoying af. If you’re going to advertise a how-to video on installing something then actually show the install. Pretty simple. Doubt i’d watch another of your videos. Sorry.
I would rather test out my AR. It's really effective
I c they have a big 3 racing sticker I have one as well on my 2012 392
I used a remote control battery kill switch and connected it to the starter. Once I hit off on the kill switch it opens the relay and will not allow and power to the starter. I also installed an alarm on my hood so that if they open the hood to try and find the relay they will get a loud suprise that won't shut off even if you close the hood.
Dude you gotta tell me how to set that up. My biggest peeve is being unable to take my car somewhere in hopes of just trying to enjoy something as simple as a weekend only to find my car is gone. Is there like a video or product u bought or is it custom?
Hey thomas can we talk about this more ?
They don't even need to break in. They can steal you fob frequency from 300 ft away. They then program a key and pick up the car anytime they want. If they want it they will get it. Isolate your fob in a protective frequency bag.
@@robrobinson7951 Is there a way to eliminate the fob frequency entirely? Seems like a useless feature when considering the situation.
Can you add a link to the kill switch and the alarm. I would appreciate it.
