This L-shaped house, located at the back of the main house, is a charming space that combines practicality and charm.
Access to the house is via a wooden deck, which stands out for not only being an access path but also an inviting space, surrounded by a garden, creating a smooth transition between the outdoor space and the entrance to the house. In the center of the site, there is a cozy space with an outdoor fireplace, surrounded by rustic wooden armchairs and benches, providing a perfect environment for outdoor meetings.
Upon entering the house, the sensation of spaciousness surprises, thanks to the large sliding doors that connect the internal and external spaces. The compact interior is designed to optimize every square inch. The kitchen, despite its modest size, offers considerable storage space.
The dining area features a strategically positioned table, with one side equipped with a bench, saving space, and on the other, chairs to comfortably accommodate visitors. Additionally, decorative shelves on the wall complement the decor, while serving as additional space for decorative objects or utensils.
The living room, although compact, is cozy and functional, with an inviting corner sofa, an armchair that complements the space, and a floor lamp that adds not only functional lighting but also contributes to the room's cozy atmosphere. On the wall, a composition of paintings of different sizes adds a personal and visually interesting touch to the space. In addition to paintings, decorative elements such as mirrors on wooden logs add a rustic and authentic charm to the decor.
The bedroom is separated from the living room by a clothes closet, offering privacy and organization. Despite its small size, the room has a surprisingly spacious feel, thanks to the wide sliding door that leads directly to the deck, providing a harmonious connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. At the headboard, the wallpaper adds an interesting visual element without overloading the room, contributing to the feeling of spaciousness. Wooden wall lights offer indirect lighting that promotes a soft, relaxing atmosphere in the bedroom. The soft light from these sconces not only subtly illuminates the space, but also highlights the texture of the wallpaper, creating a play of shadows that adds depth to the decor.
Overall, this L-shaped house also proves to be a versatile choice, adapting to the diverse needs of the owners. In addition to serving as a welcoming refuge for visitors or accommodation for children, it is versatile for different uses. This is very nice.
The only thing i would add to it is a clear or tinted roof overhang.
That way in a light rain you could sit on the stairs enjoying the sounds and smells and not get wet. 👍🏾

Love the design. Nonetheless, I probably would make some big changes. I no longer cook and need very little kitchen space. That place would be smaller with probably a similar counter area, though reduce, a two range cooking area, a small oven, and small fridge. I would ask for book cases across the walls, and finally, though I understand why the use of such large window-like entrances, I am far more concern about privacy and security. I would ask for much smaller windows, probably on top of the structure, no sliding doors and instead a traditional single door. Yes the place will be much less luminous, but I will be far more comfortable, and secure.

I purchased the property, dropped two shipping containers on it, and there it’s sat for 13 years, while I get the time and nerve to build my SC house. It’s a pipe dream at the point.
{{{OMG}}} you have purchased the property…have dropped 2 shipping containers on it. And, that was {{{{13}}}} years ago 🥹. Please excuse me here… 13 years ago…I never heard of using shipping containers for building. I first came across using shipping containers as a tourist novelty shop back in 2016 when I was in Bristol in the UK 🇬🇧. Loved the concept back then. If you don’t mine me asking… what are you waiting to for? We just came through (that none of us have ever experienced before) a pandemic. Lots of lives were lost. We are lucky. Sir, time is not waiting for us to (as long as your able) enjoy life. Sounds like you’re not hurting in the funds department. Go ahead, and finish what you’ve been trying to do. We can’t turn back the hands of time. If you’re healthy and able….to finish this dream you’ve been holding onto for 13 years 🥹. Please Sir, don’t wait another 13 years. Life is short. Enjoy your evening.
