Oh my goodness! I had listened to Sohiang but not performing this song. Delicate voice at the begining and then crystal clear and powerful voice at the same time since the song keeps going. And her last note and vibrato is, ..., I don't find any words. Bravo! 👏👏 Take care Charlene.

Having been obsessed in watching her reaction since 2019, I prefer genuine reaction with respect to her rather than just empty insincere praise. I am no upset either! I did have tears when I first heard her but felt melancholy for past memories! But now I have new memories with her version! She has done other Classic songs and treated them in a gentler fashion. But, her best performances are often in this kind of competitive setting - where she blows the roof off. She does her own arrangements, so you are seeing her genius in full view. Comparing her talent or treatment of songs is a mistake. Sohyang does NOT sing. She has a God-given musical instrument and has learned to play it in the same way that a virtuoso violinist plays a Stradivarius. That is why she never strains for notes or grows tired. The original has a subtle gospel sound, and it’s a popular church song. Sohyang is a gospel singer, and this show was a contest. She had to go big.💥 One thing I love about her is that she sings with her entire heart and soul. I can see it on her face. I guess we disagree about that, which is ok. Immortal Songs 2 is a competition and the artists who are invited onto it have to pick a song from that shows theme and rearrange it. So if its on this show it will never be a straight cover. Not upset but I disagree that the emotion wasn't there, I have always seen this as Sohyang singing about her journey through cancer and how God was her bridge. The emotion involved is simply different to the original. But you can't help what you do or don't like. If you react to more English songs from this show such as 'You Raise me Up' and 'Lean on me', be prepared that they are also rearranged.

I can rant for days about those and I feel so sad that Sohyang herself will occasionally come by and watch those reactions when she feels down or low. I don't expect all reactors to be kind or praising her work like she's untouchable. At least please have some decency and respect to the vocalists in the performance. Subjective preferences is all fine, but trashtalking and inappropriate remarks (too much on the look and unnecessary comparison) are no-go to me.

I like when singers pay respect to the original and the make it their own. So, in context this is exactly how this song should have been sung. I think Simon & Garfunkel would have been pleased with the direction this version took. Of course everyone is entitled to have a favorite.
