- What really caused the fall of Mozilla Firefox? After all, from its initial beta in 2002 to its peak in 2009, it played a huge role in dethroning Microsoft’s browser monopoly, and has continued to be an incredibly influential browser for the internet as a whole. However, for the past 13 years, Firefox’s marketshare has been on a slow but concerning decline. Why did this happen? Find out in this video.

Excellent video. I am still a Firefox user to this day and I have 0 complaints about using the browser. I love the fact that's it's not chromium based like you mentioned in the video. I also noticed that Firefox is the default browser on lots of Linux distros -- I wonder why?
i believe its for the same reasons you mentioned, aswell as being (i belive) mostly open source
I'm not the biggest fan of the newer changes in Firefox. But I've used it since the Firebird days (used Netscape before that) and still do. The not so good changes are not enough to get me to join Googles monopoly in the browser market.
for a small channel like your, you have a top-tier quality of your video montage, sound, etc. well done dude, keep it going
jesus this is one of the best intros ive seen. please keep it up brother subbed
Dude, you're getting really good at this. Keep at it!
Great vid man, can't believe you have less than 1k subs. You def deserve more.
Hey bro, channel is GREAT! Please don't get discouraged, and don't stop making videos, I follow them all! Happy to say that I've been following you since 700 subscribers!
Great vid. Did you record all the footage of the old versions of Netscape
Yup!
Thank you for speaking our minds. From ubuntu to Firefox, we have seen the glory of software UI design until now. It is really impossible to express in words. Thank you for your hard work to make this video.
Fox is dead long live the fire
I switched to Phoenix as soon as it was available and stable. Then Firebird. Still using Firefox. I remember the "Acid test" , to test the CSS compatibility. so many memories.
Great vid, as always!
I am a Firefox user, and I personally think it is the best browser on the market
Thank you for sharing knowledge about my favorite web browser. 😁 I would like to point out that the "Sources" link in the video description is broken.
Thanks for letting me know about the broken link! It's fixed now, just redid my DNS config
Good work, very informative
Currently watching this on FireFox.😀
I've Firefox since 2003, I don't know what happened but it sucks these days.
Loved FF. Brave is my daily driver now.
I remember the glacial pace that Mozilla took to get to v3.5, things just worked. Then chrome came along and granted it was buggy because it was still new, so Google kept pushing updates& fixes at a break neck speed and was soon overtaking in version numbers. Mozilla saw this as a threat and just started even the most pointless of updates just to make it look like they were not left behind.
In my opinion Firefox 3.x had the best user interface, but ever since Firefox 4 they've been in a downward spiral of pointless Chrome-copying changes that do nothing but alienate their existing users. Still, I use Firefox for the same reasons you do. I also can't stand Chrome's font rendering
And naive users gave money to the Mozilla foundation and none of it went to Firefox
gecko is just based
I use Firefox based browsers purely because I think its dangerous for Google to be able to set all web standards. There current marketshare makes that possible.
Firefox better then chromium if only because on Firefox engine video doesn't drop frames. All chromiums drop frames in youtube
I like the new UI. There, I said it! 🤷
yup,it is bashed for sake of being bashed
Mozilla Firefox may fall put it can rise again like a phoenix it use to be.
idk but:
mobile version is SIGMA of mobile browsers
about desktop: because of Chrome actions about extension should make people use firefox more.
the australis single handedly pushed me to chrome.
well, until chrome also become so bloated and intrusive and pushed me back to firefox.
I have try to move from firefox times and times again since, but always come. . either from opera (barely a month), from vivaldi (4 months) or brave (3 months)
Honestly, Firefox is the best browser that's still open source, works well and doesn't phone home. You can choose to let Mozilla have some data in the settings but if you don't like that keep it off and they never will. Firefox isn't as fast as vanilla Chromium but it's far, far nicer to use without being hugely bloated. All in all it's the best choice at this point in time in my humble fooking opinion.
iirc they collect data by default and you have to turn it off, sometimes in about:config, but their telemetry isnt as identifiable as google for sure.

MY DUDE PHOTOSHOP IS NOW ON LINUX WTF????
It’s pirated CS6 running in Wine and barely works.
Waterfox fix the problem
Who said Quantum was received well?
Most reviews I found online were generally positive.
@@DistrosProjects They killed what made Firefox special (powerful addons)
You forget about the mobile version.
There history for another video.
The mobile app, in my opinion, was so insignificant in Firefox’s history that I didn’t even bother putting it in, considering that Firefox only ever had less than 0.5% mobile marketshare.
@@DistrosProjects Sad true.
The current design is ugly af. I really wish i could change it
i left firefox for opera because i was trying to restore my old tabs to sync on the new FF but i forgot my FF password so by resetting my password it deleted the tab, idk whos the genius at FF that thought that would be a good idea.
