Both Keane and Vieira were world class players. No need to cry because Vieira put himself above Keane. Keane would do the same. They respect each other and we should too. I'm a Man Utd fan but I enjoyed watching Vieira, Henry, Pires growing up, what a team, what a club.

vieira was miles ahead of keane he could pick a pass, tackle, score goals, had an eye for assists, he was tall yet fast, he was a complete player keane on the other hand was a leader same as vieira and could defend but he was hot headed and error prone unless you're irish or a united fan you rate vieira higher

You obviously never saw Keane play. His passing was incredible. Also 'error prone?' . Between 1997-1999 Vieira made THREE mistakes that led to United victories by carelessly giving away possession. Twice to Ryan Giggs

Give him an arsenal shirt and he'll put in a better heartfull display on the pitch for the club than any of the current breed. The invincibles must look at the current arsenal state and feel really sad to see no one playing for the badge or the manager.
Viera, a monster on the field.....the warrior......a great leader of men.....The Real Legend..... you can say whatever you wanna say about him...you can have whatever opinions about him.......but at the end of the day, you can never doubt or deny his undisputed talent and passion for the game.....what he gave to arsenal and the premier league.....tell me of any player right now in the premier league who can command and drive a team through the impossible like him...................................................................exactly none.......because he never goes down and play-act like wussies nowadays do....

viera was a wonderful player to watch play. he, petit and gilberti were the backbone of those great arsenal sides. the game seemed to flow into and out of those three, allowing the build up to occur knowing that everything was under control. the man united mid defense and midfield were just as impossing. good memories for all neutral fans of the beautiful game.
It's only in England where people would dream of comparing Keane to a legendary like Vieira. The rest of the world knows Vieira was miles better in ever single way.
If he was miles better in every way, why did Keane win so much more for his club?
Cristian S I'm talking about the two individual players not their teams. Vieira has won far more individual honours for club and country. If you wanna use that logic then I can just say that Vieira is a World Cup, Euro Championship and Confed winner and Keane has won nothing.
It's reasonable to compare their club achievements because both teams were on a similar level. But it is frankly fucking retarded to compare the achievements of one player for France to another for fucking Republic of Ireland.
And I'm mentioning club achievements because it is a good way to measure the impact on the club. Midfielders don't necessarily score goals or assist so the measure of their ability is largely qualitative and trophies provide a good tool to compare them.

Coming from a Liverpool fan, Vieira is the best Premier League midfielder ever. The most complete and dominant centre mid of his era.
I'm a liverpool fan, Gerrard is my favourite player of all time. I understand how good Alonso was, David Silva is a magician, Scholes was the heartbeat of Uniteds midfield for years. But for me there's no greater all around midfielder than Vieira, he had everything, pace, power, technical ability, could hit a pass, defend, score goals and control the pace of a game. Unbelievable!

Back in 2003 when arsenal did the impossible, they had leaders and talent, now all arsenal have is talent with no leader. Koscielny and Sanchez are about the only leaders that perform week in week out. I believe Arsenal should keep Arsene Wenger, they just need someone in midfield like a Vieira that can boss the midfield and shout at the team, someone who's a tough tackler such as N'Zonzi at Sevilla, Nianggolan at Roma or a Matuidi at PSG. They also need a leader up front. Thierry Henry was not only phenomenally talented, but was someone the team believed in, I dont think people believe the same way in Giroud.
They just need more leaders and someone the team can believe in. A tough tackling midfielder in January is a must, then maybe Arsenal can get back to their best.
