    I dig the Spitfire and the black C4. Corvettes and Spitfires are two of my favorite cars ever. I can't wait to get my 75 Spitfire on the road.

      Thank you! Sounds like you have a lot of good memories with yours. They're good for making memories. Maybe you'll have another one day.

    The Seats are genuine. On the electrical side you must clean the negative connection on the body and the engine. That helps to bring your lights back.

      @justindake  Před 3 lety

      Okay, I'll be sure to do that. I noticed I don't have plate lights either so I bet cleaning the grounds will help quite a bit. Do you think the seats are from a Spitfire?

      @@justindake yes seats are original spitfire. the rust areas are easy to remedy on a spitfire... except perhaps by the trailing arms outward. that section will require some downtime eventually. check the fuse box. over time the fuse tongs lose their spring. and what huber said... grounds can get touchy. agreed that for some reason... despite being down on power...spitfires are really fun cars to drive.

    I love this little car. I always remember how much flak it got on Top Gear. Congrats, Justin! Hope you keep this car a long time. How is Aquiles doing?

    • @justindake
      @justindake  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks Abhay! I'll have to rewatch that episode. Aquiles hasn't moved unfortunately. The tires didn't hold air for very long but luckily I have spare wheels and tires off my A4 which should fit. That car will be up next I believe.

    Should have a servo on the brake master cylinder I think I read somewhere that in America regulation back in the day outlawed brake servos. Put a servo on it
    there's no issue putting leaded fuel in an unleaded vehicle the other way round yes

    • @justindake
      @justindake  Před 3 lety

      Ahh good idea, I just looked that up and there are companies making small servos for the Spitfire. I think that would really improve the brakes which are surprisingly heavy for such a light car. Thanks for the info!

      @@justindake I'm sure the latest Spitfire came with a servo's, I remember seeing man in a petrol station in the UK and ne had a servo on the master cylinder. Should be probably a vacuum connector on the manifold for it somewhere

    • @justindake
      @justindake  Před 3 lety

      Hmm, what I found suggests they didn't (at least here) but that it has always been a pretty popular upgrade. Either way I'm sure mine doesn't have one, I'm looking at it now and it's just master cylinder, lines, and the PDWA valve. I'll definitely look into getting one.

      @@justindake yes whatever you should fit one you need a long throw on that one any mounting holes under the cylinder for bracket
      And probably update all the slave cylinders as well for aftermarket
