If you go back to Wrath of the Righteous any time soon, can you make a Dragonblood Shifter build? I know it's a pretty bad archetype, but is there any way to save it and make it workable on Core/Hard?
Bonus points if you can show off all the dragon types we can turn into!
There is a special monk robe, garb of the land and sky. It looks better too than vest of soul rejuvenation.
Nice, I did try open hand monk (with 3 levels of thief) once on my durge and holy shit, he was broken as fuck
Instead of horns of the berserker, you can always user the hat of fire acuity. Then, you can use your action surge action and a scroll to cast a high DC spell. Not the best use of hat of fire acuity, but it'll work on a pinch.
I believe the diadem of arcane synergy only works with actual weapons, which unarmed attacks are not. If you tried it with a "monk weapon", it might work but this negates the bonus from tavern brawler.

Nope, it doesn't really matter as her role is mostly to use Buffs/Debuffs and Spells. Ideally turn Phalar Aluve Shriek on, then go with Spirit Guardians + Radiance of the Dawn + Mass Healing Word.
If you want her to attack normally for trash mobs or when you wanna conserve resources, I also like giving her Elixirs of Giant Strength for high STR and carrying capacity, as they're extremely easy to farm from the Derrith Bonecloak, a merchant at the Myconid Colony in Act 1-2 (and later the city of BG in Act 3).
Isn't the graceful cloth in act 1 - mountainpass extremely good?
You said there were no good robes for monk, but those and the mighty cloth in early act 2 (for a str/bloodlust elixir build) seem like godtier options for monk, no? I'm very new to this game genre, so I see ASI and I get neural activation, which is probably not the best mindset...

Just couple weeks ago I've finished another run using a 9lvl 4elements monk/3lvl thief on tactician. I decided not to abuse tavern brawler and went without it, the build was incredibly strong even then. I even used a quarterstaff as my weapon, just for roleplaying purposes. Absolutely breezed through tactician. If I tried to completely minmax the build I assume it would 1-2 round most of the bosses in the game.
Staff Monk has always been one of my faves!

Shows that you should really delve at least a little bit into the BG3 systems before you think of playing honour mode my friend. Barbs and Fighters literally dont need any "builds" Except 12 levels in the right Subclass ^^

The sad thing is that like all staffs that reinforce elemental damage work only for spells which four elements monk doesn't have. Which also means that all the gloves for monk dont have any synergy whatsoever with anything
Yes, it doesn't feel like a very well thought class as far as implementation.
If you wanna use a dex based monk go as dragon born for natural 13 unamored ac then monks unarmored passive giving you dex and wisdom bonuses to ac. I started out with 19 ac level 1 then got the gloves that Gove you +2ac when not wearing armor or shield for fast 21 ac
I get only 16 ac on dragonborn when start game with 16 Dex and 17 wisdom

Fire Bending certainly revealed to be the best!
While not nearly as much of a issue in this game compared to 5e, 4E monks do still suffer from too expensive ki spells and not enough ki, and the ki spells have terrible scaling. the shocking grasp equivalent has worse scaling than the normal one despite being a d10, and so is completely useless. And it costs a resource. Really wish Larian had looked deeper into it and even shadow monk a bit like they clearly did with open hand monk.
Yeah it’s crazy how better monks are in Pathfinder or Pillars of Eternity
@@legitplayin6977 to be fair, in PF1e they really aren't particularly good, especially the original version, including on the Owlcat Games. And larian did a lot to improve the open hand monk.
I do agree though, Pathfinder 2e, and especially Pillars do monks much better than pretty much any dnd version, excepting maybe the most recent onednd monk.
Deadfire monks are fantastic, all the abilities are great, the subclasses are fantastic, etc.
Yes, it's why I prefer to basically spam the extra Fire damage Fist spell.
The other ones aren't really particularly useful.
This isn't a criticism of you or your builds, but sadly this is just a weaker version of Open Fist. They really did elements monk bad seeing as there's no real spell useful besides Fangs of the Fire Snake. You're essentially doing the same thing for less damage and utility, all for a shooty fire snek opener. The best you've got is a grumpy kungfu Zuko, not a chad Aang bustin' out all 4 elements.
It's not as good as Open Hand indeed, but I was surprised that Fangs of Fire Snake is decent enough, what with working with Extra Attacks AND having higher damage than normal Punches. Thankfully it doesn't compete with Flurry of Blows as one is Bonus and the other Normal Actions.
