Johnny Gill turned that Summer Jam into a Gospel song .....the older he gets , the more he acknowledges the annoiting he was given vocally...I can see him becoming a ordained Minister...Charlie Wilson has no problem with showing people that he knows where his gift comes from...he puts a Gospel song on every album because he was victorious against drug addiction and Cancer!

Am in Zambia Africa, was in secondary school in the early nineties. My buddies an I were in a singing group. Even though boyz 2 men were popping at the time, we were still into new edition. I was known as the Johnny Gill of the group coz I was such a big fan that the guys said I even acted like him. It breaks my heart to know that you are not a fan.

I was hooked on Johnny since he was in middle school and sounding like a grown man! He actually went to my middle school, but I had long left there when he went there. I believe I was graduating high school or entering college. DC had an amazingly talented group of young people from all genres of music, acting, modeling, songwriting, politics, and so on. And they all hung together and we always stayed tuned to what the younger talent were doing. Man, them Summer in the Park, hanging at Anacostia Park or at Rock Creek Park or Haines Point and you never knew what Act was gonna show up! Or a lot of us getting in somebody’s basement with full setup of instruments, songwriters, musicians, singers, and we were only about 15-18, just grooving!
